A good episode but not the best in the fourth season. Grissom, Catherine and Nick investigates a car bomb which resulted in the death of three people, one of whom was an air marshal who rented the car. Due to the imprecision of the detonator, the CSIs conclude that the target may not have been the air marshal but the person who had previously rented the car. The man is a mystery himself, as he seems to be leading a double life. In town, Sara and Warrick works on the death of Amelia, the wife of Myles Reuben who is a famous singer. She was found in her hotel's bathtub while her husband is performing downstairs. Carol Mendelsohn, Anthony E.Zuiker and Josh Berman wrote this episode. I think this is just an average episode. It's not very good but it's not very bad. Just average and nothing surprising happened.moreless
I thought this was an average episode. Nothing was that great about this one. The story was ok but something about this episode was not that good. An explosion causes the CSI team to look further and slowly they track down the perosn responsible for setting the bomb off. Meanwhile Sara investigates when a young women is found death in a pool. But after some time it appears that it may be suicide not murder. Overall as i said earlier this episode was ok, i hope the next one is better but overall so far this season has been very good.moreless
In the episode of CSI titled Grissom Versus The Volcano Grissom Catherine and Nick investigate a car bomb of a federal air marshal while Warrick and Sara in investigate the death of a singer wife in a Las Vegas hotel room over the episode has some good story plots both cases are interesting and are good twist and turns to keep you guessing threw out the episode the A story is better and written better then the B story my over all rating for Grissom Versus The Volcano is 8.9 out of 10 for good cases and good twist and turnsmoreless
This episode had me guessing through out the hour, Atwater almost gets blown to pieces, and a pop stars wife is found dead. When the gunfire erurpted I thought that at least a uniform was going to get hurt, but god forbid Rory Atwater, no, no, not the Sheriff, well someone could boast that "they shot the sheriff." Myles looked very hurt that Amelia was dead, I didn't really thing that someone killed her, she was clearly unhappy. There was some good detective work in this ep. The first appearence of Detective Tony Vartann, my personal favorite dectective, really made my night.moreless
A car bomb goes off in front of a hotel which almost kills the sheriff who happened to be having dinner there at the time (I kinda wish that he did die, it would have made the episode much better) I loved Grissom's "Thank god you're alright". Nice to see Greg helping Grissom out on the case. I was surprised to find out that it was the wife who made & planted the bomb. Sara & Warrick's case was pretty interesting too. Who would have thought that it would end up being suicide. I thought it was the manager for most of the episode.moreless
Goof: At the beginning, a visible Myles Reuben billboard is spelled as 'Myles Reuben.' When Sara and Warrick match the fingerprints on the dial of the hot tub to the manager, Sam Hopkins, the name of the performer is spelled 'Myles Ruben'.
Edit
Goof: In the re-creation of Amelia's death scene, she is shown thrashing about and going under-water, yet the coroner said she didn't drown because she didn't have water in her nasal sinuses. They were "clear as a bell".
Edit
Sara: The life of a celebrity. I don't know, I think it sounds kind of isolating, living in a fishbowl.
Warrick: Wouldn't be isolated. You'd have a butler, a maid service, laundry service.
Edit
Nick: Compromised the timing device. Made the bomb unpredictable.
Grissom: We may never know when that bomb was supposed to explode.
Edit
Grissom: I believe the, uh, glass pressure traveled from the rear of the vehicle, through the front... (Grissom shines a flashlight into the car and finds a pair of dismembered feet) ... and evidently separated the driver's body at the ankles. (to David) David, we have body parts in the car!
David: I've been looking for the feet.
Grissom: I found 'em.
