A very rare episode, written by Naren Shankar and Sarah Goldfinger. Grissom investigates a home invasion which results in the death of an old woman living alone in her house. She is found, mummified, in a closet. Her death is probably unintentional. Another home invasion is also reported. Finger prints from the two crime scenes link the two incidents together. Meanwhile, Catherine must find out how a gun ends up in a front lawn of a house in the suburbs. Only checking through the database, she find out the gun is a murder weapon in Warrick's past case. A very special and rare episode. It's hard for me to understand the story of this episode
  • Homebodies is one of the rare CSI episodes I find really hard to watch.

Homebodies is one of the rare CSI episodes I find really, really, really hard to watch because the brutality towards old people pains me deeply. The authors linked together the 2 crimes very smartly and I caught it the moment I saw Nick process the little table. It was a shame that the criminals got away with it but that just proves that even if you do your best you can't always put them behind the bars. It shows that the human factor (the girl simply had to write down the number) in this case was also very important as they had plenty of evidence.

Also the end of the episode was tough for both Sara and Grissom as she was crying in the car but Grissom had to process the scene as if nothing ruthless had happened, as if it had been just a regular B&E.

*slight spoilers* As I continue watching CSI episodes from the beginning to the current season that just aired, I always look for those episodes that stand out. This is definitely an episode that stood out for me. Granted, I'm only on season 4 so far, but I loved this episode. Of course it's incredibly frustrating the way the story ended, but then again, it's always frustrating when they get their guy on every single occasion. It just sucks to know that this guy will go and do it again... they all do. Well, at least it's fiction and not real life.

At first I was wondering how the case of a mummified body in a closet could be related to the case of a breaking & entering and a raped teen. It was really cool how the writers managed to tie these 2 cases together, it made the whole story even more interesting.

This episode was different than any of the others I've seen until now, The CSI's always find a way to catch their bad guy but this time he got away because of a lack of evidence. I'm left wondering if this story will ever be resolved like the Paul Milander crimes, or, because we already know who did it, it'll never be brought up again.

The end was so sad, with Sara walking away & crying in the car and Grissom having to process the scene alone.

At first I thought the teen committed suicide but after watching the episode again, it was obvious that she was murdered by the suspect before she could identify him.

  • As a rule, the CSI\'s ALWAYS get their man...

..or woman, but in this episode, justice is left dangling for too long. There have been some multi epsiode story arcs, like Millander, and the murderer who uses paint mixed with oil; but this one has not been resolved yet.

The suspect has been interviewed, but he has so far gotten away with murdering the girl he brutally raped (because she refused to stay quiet about him) during a home invasion. This case has not been alluded to in any subsequent episodes.

The rape scene was VERY painful to watch - I\'ve never been personally touched by this horrible crime - but when it\'s recreated in a drama, it turns my stomach upside down and inside out. So I really want to see this creep taken down - preferably by Catherine and Sara.
