  • A seemingly endless and overdone cat-and-mouse between two characters finally reaches a messy and unspectacular conclusion.

For the third consecutive year in a row, we're 'treated' to a series finale which resolves entirely around Ray Langston. Whilst Fishburne is indeed the star of the show, it's become ridiculous with the number of storylines associated with his character, even though I thought Season 10 ended well, it appears to highlight the fact that the writers have forgotten that this is an ensemble cast, not the Ray Langston show.

What frustrates me more with this episode, is the way the other characters are forced out of character to accommodate Langston. Brass' character has been completely ruined, by picking up the cuffs he has violated the ethics and morals he has upheld throughout theentiretyof the show. Greg has suddenly done a complete 180 over the past year, previously wary of Langston in the Season 10 finale and now going out his way to clear him. In fact, the entire team besides Sara have appeared to have abandoned their sense of moral duty in order to back up their colleague, which may appear to show a strong bond between the team but when you consider episodes such as For Gedda or Post Mortem where characters were convicted for crimes they did not commit, the other characters were nowhere near as supportive as they were to Langston, choosing to do their jobs professionally without bias.

It suggests to me that the writers seem to care only that their beloved superman, Ray is kept in good light whereas in reality he has become a black hole which has sucked all characters and sense of plot in with him.

The episode did have a few good moments in, I liked that it highlighted the continued friendship between Ray and Doc Robbins still as well as Sara and Greg's relationship. I also liked how it kept to the CSI episode formula, investigate a crime, gather evidence, interview suspect come to a conclusion.

Nevertheless, the episode proved to be incredibly dull also, boasting perhaps the worst cliffhanger to come out of CSI. It's almost laughable that Fishburne has left, seeing as it appears the writers managed to dig themselves into a massive hole with the conclusion. I can only hope Ted Danson and Season 12 can pull them back out next season.

  • A great season of CSI that comes to a chilling and suspensful end by taking a different approach to making a cliffhanger.

A great season of CSI that comes to a chilling and suspensful end (unfortunately this episode has been panned by 2 Ray Langston haters the only difference is one of them denies being a Ray Langston hater) by taking a different approach to making a cliffhanger. Instead of one of the main characters (and just to remind everyone although the story focused a lot on Ray Langston he is a main character but he is not being and has never been written as THE main character of CSI. Try to keep that in mind before you review another CSI episode.) being put in jeopardy his career hangs in the balance with his future depending on what he says next. As for the reviews this one is getting I sincerely hope CBS doesn't look at the bad reviews this show has gotten from this site as a deciding factor of whether to renew all 3 shows or not because most of these reviews are from bitter children who still haven't gotten over the departure of Grissom. Grissom was the best no doubt about it but stop panning the show because you don't like his replacement. Give these new seasons a fair chance.

In my opinion, this episode was an ok episode, I mean, it did not have that feeling that other seasons finales had, but I have to admit that I liked this creepy style reflected among the entire apisode, and the team´s decision at the end was very interesting despite it is not the right thing to do in a tv show

what I did not like about this episode, first of all, was the silly begining scene with ray and nate fighting for their lives, I did not like glorias plot either, in my opinion it was weak, but despite all of those mistakes, this episode was very intriging at least for me P.D: I´m from venezuela, I´m not an expert writing in english, please forgive my mistakes
  • That was the season finale?

I'm not a Ray hater, but one thing that I didn't like is that this storyline was way too much, lasted too long and it all had to do with him. Case was good, overall, but mainly focused on Ray.

I'm glad Haskell is gone for good, he deserved it but as Edward mentioned, Ray went a little too far. I liked Sara's determination on proving if the flex-cuffs were in Ray's kit, she WAS doing her job. The rest I believe were just covering for him. I remember other cases where CSI's were involved and even when they were all working on proving their innocence, they were never covered or protected. One more question: could Ray's partners work on his case? Is it legal? I liked Ecklie's support. Finally doing something for the team without asking too many questions.

So is the Haskell's case over yet? Will the 12th season premiere addressed how Ray killed him? We'll have to wait. Who knows, maybe Willows will quit for some reason in the first episodes of next season.

I still like this show, 11 years now, but they need to make some changes. It's urgent!
  • Ugh...just not good! CSI used to be a sharp show, now it's like the writers just want their paycheck.

CSI: Langston's second season finale wasn't really building up to much. Other than all the CSIs covering Langston's butt after he went all crazy and murdered Haskell. Yeah, Haskell deserved it...but Langston just gave in to his "murderer gene" or whatever -- like we all knew he would. Boring. The "cliffhanger" of what he'll say in his interview isn't really exciting either.

Also upsetting was how the team all stuck up for him. Yes that's how they've always been...but this was just pushing it a little TOO far. I mean, his wife saw what happened, and if Internal Affairs uncovers something the whole team could easily be in trouble. That plus Langston has been shady lately anyways, rather than trustworthy.

And wasn't Marg supposed to leave after this season? So I guess she's not? I guess that's good at least. I miss the good old days of good CSI. :(
  • The eleventh season ends with part three of a three part series finale. Sara, Eric and Brass find Nate Haskell's dead body. There is no dobut that Ray is the killer, but was it self defense or murder.

"In a Dark, Dark House" is a very strong episode. Bill Irwin gives yet another very strong and even frightening performance. He deserves an Emmy nomination for sure. Another strong point is seeing just how Warner Lambert became Nate Haskell. I found the origin story to be quite compelling. It was also filmed quite well. However, the reason why I can't give it a higher rating is because I found it troubling that the team decided to cover up the truth. I understand their feelings for Ray and for what he did, but they are obligated to tell the truth.

OK, who didn't enjoy seeing Nate Haskell get beat down??? So evil, so sadistic, hurt everyone he ever had contact with, He so deserved what he got!!! Thinking his father did, too. Decided to take Ray to hell with him, though. It will be difficult for Ray to deal with the fact that Haskell won – made Ray act on his bad inclinations. Ray struggles to be good and to do the right thing. Be good, Ray, be good. Will he be able to keep the story straight or will he have to tell the truth and betray his team? He is afraid of doing bad things and being bad. I hope he can come to terms with what he did and hold his story straight.

I have always like CSI because of the interesting story lines and great acting and directing. There is a sense of originality and excitement in every episode. I think the story line set for the season was well thought out. It is obvious that from the start, the season will be about Langston and Nate, and finally, the case of Nate draws to a close and surprisingly, in a way, he wins in the end. He was in control all the time against Langston - Nate was always a step ahead of the CSIs - until the end. Langston gave in to Nate and turned him into a murderer but the CSIs ruled it as self defense. Hm, maybe that will be the main twist in the next season? Can't wait.
