(Greg, not knowing that Riley and Ray are in trouble, calls down to help) Greg: Hey, guys? Hey, you down there? I was in the neighborhood, thought I'd stop by, see if you-- Riley: It's okay, Riley. We don't need any help. Greg (with a look of realization): 'Kay, Sanders. See you back at the lab.
Brian Morley: What do you want? Greg: I just want to let you know that we got the guy who shot Jason. He's a known gang member. Brian Morley: I'd like to rip his heart out. Greg: I'd like to let you, but he's already dead. I know it probably doesn't help. Brian Morley: You have to do this very often? Greg: It's not part of my job. Brian Morley: Thank you. ... I lost my wife last year. Jason just started sleeping in his own bed again. ... Cops like coffee, right? You want a cup? Greg: Sure.
Brian Morley (holding onto his son's body): You can't take him. I'll take him to the hospital, okay? I'll drive him. David: Sir, please, I need to take him. Brian Morley: You don't even know his name. David: Okay, but-- Greg: Excuse me. I'm Greg Sanders, I'm with the crime lab. What is your son's name? Brian Morley: Jason Morely. Greg: All right, Mr. Morely. Jason's no longer with us. He's in a better place, and there's nothing any of us can do to change that, but you have to let us take him. So we can figure out who did this. (Mr. Morely starts crying) David here will take very good care of your son, I promise. David: Sir, please. (still crying, Mr. Morely hands over the body)
Langston (about Frankie): Have your people treat him fairly, Captain. He doesn't have to be a lost cause. Brass: Some how, I knew you were gonna say that.
(Coming up with a plan to go into the house) SWAT Guy: We can pump in CS gas, on the west side of the house there's vent that leads directly to the lab. Catherine: Except we're talkin' about a 14 year old kid with a gun that he's not afraid to use. The gas could cause him to panic. Greg: Yeah, one wild shot and he blows up the whole block. Nick: Riley's armed. She's trained for this. If she gets the opportunity, she will take it. Brass: One thing we got goin' for us, time is on our side. Nick: I say we trust 'em. Catherine: So do I.
Nick (to Riley): How you holdin' up? (Riley shows him four fingers, meaning 'Code 4') How many guns? (Riley holds down one finger) Are you armed? (Riley again holds down four fingers) Then you know what you gotta do.
Nick (regarding Riley going to get the first aid kit): I wanna talk to her. Greg: The front entrance and the street are covered by surveillance. Brass: They're waiting for us to make our move. Nick: We gotta try. I can't just sit here and do nothin'.
Reggie: I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Langston: No one ever does.
Langston (after finding tons of different chemicals in a hidden room): This is a PCP lab. Riley: This is all highly explosive. Langston: We should get out of here. Riley: Uh, yeah.
Det. Vega: Word on the street is, a college kid with a talent as a mixer, is pushin' stuff on the snake back turf without payin' them tribute. Brass: Okay, so Reggie's got a target on his back because he's operating under a different business model? Det. Vega: Well, you can get a degree, but it doesn't make you smart.
Riley (to Ray): Wait, wait. Lemme go first. You start carryin' a gun, you can lead next time.
Langston (arriving at the crime scene with multiple victims): I looked at a house around the corner from here when I first moved to town. I thought that this was a nice neighborhood. Catherine: It is.
Catherine: Well, the Hatchers were the targets, yet the suspects didn't park out front. Riley: Maybe the suspects didn't want the vehicle to be seen. Greg: Or didn't know which house they were gonna hit.
Hodges: I'm trying to do Archie a favor here, not get him fired. He is at the academy meeting. Catherine: In Denver, which means he's snowboarding. Hodges: There is more to life than work. It's a lesson I learned from your predecessor. (they talk about the case for a moment) And just for the record, Archie may be riding the halfpipe but it's only between lectures. Such as, breath analysis as a forensics tool. (Catherine gives him a look) That one's for me. It's part of our deal. He got funded and I didn't.
(During the training drill, the instructor grabs Greg, and holds him at 'gunpoint', Greg gets out of his grasp. Catherine shoots the instructor with the paintball gun as Riley misses her shot) Catherine: You're dead. Instructor Lee: Nice shot, Willows. Catherine: Thanks. Instructor Lee: And Adams, you get points for calling Sanders by your name to communicate your intentions. It's a good job. Nick: Hey, how many points does she lose for missin'? (they are all now back in the starting area, clearing their guns) Riley: Hey, I don't wanna be defensive or anything, but the only reason I missed was 'cause Greg couldn't get out of the hold. Greg: Oh, please. Lee knows the signals better than we do, and besides, you could've been more subtle. (mimics Riley) Catherine: Play nice, kiddies. (Greg and Riley chuckle) Ray: I need sidearm clearance and I've got to take a look at the tactical manual again because these codes are very very confusing. Nick: The most important signal's a: Code 4? Ray: Situation secured, Code 4. Greg: Second most important? 482. Ray: I know this. 482 is... What is it? Greg: Lunch! And Riley's buyin'. Nick: Nice! Riley: I'm buying? Well, then I hope you all like value meals.
