Two fishermen find a woman's leg in a lake. Catherine joins Grissom on shore with the leg. Brass walks up and asks, "So what do you think, drowning?" Grissom responds "Yah, probably, but under what what circumstances?" He mentions she is wearing a three inch heal. Warrick and Nick are getting off shift, Nick offers to take Warrick to breakfast. Warrick tells him he has a court date. Catherine is with the coroner, Dr. Jenna Williams and the leg. She tells Catherine the leg was severed postmortem. Grissom wheels the rest of the body in, telling them divers found her body about a half mile East of Calville Marina. The skin is too shriveled to get a print. Under protest Catherine lets Grissom put the dead woman's skin over her fingers to get prints. Nick and Sarah are at a Western LVU frat house to investigate a 419. They meet Matt Daniels and he takes them to Jame's body, still hanging. Detective Kane tells Sarah, no suicide note has been found. Catherine tells Grissom the woman is ID as Wendy Barger and her husband had not reported her missing. Grissom tells her the coroner said she was in the water for two days. Dr. Williams walks up and tells them the rape kit was positive for seamen and there are sighs of a struggle. Her right shoulder is dislocated and her skull is fractured. Grissom and Catherine talk with Mr. Barger. He tells them the last time he saw Wendy was Tuesday morning. She needed some time away. He also admits it has been three or four months since they had intercourse. He ends up giving them a DNA sample. Nick and Sarah talk with frat boy Kyle Travis along with Matt. Matt tells them he had to ding James last night. Warrick arrives at the court house only to be met by Judge Cohen, see episodes 100 and 101. There is no court case. Judge Cohen tells Warrick he will wipe the slate clean if he will compromise the chain of custody of evidence in a rape case. Greg shows Grissom and Catherine the DNA results. The seamen from Wendy did not match Mr. Barger's DNA. Warrick is in the evidence room with the evidence in question and is having second thoughts on singing it out. Grissom walks up. He tells Warrick to take the rest of the day off and tells him he is glad he is back. He also tells him he has promoted him to CSI 3. Warrick confides in Grissom about his problem with judge Cohen. Nick and Sarah are with the other coroner and James's body. He shows them petechial hemorrhaging, witch means asphyxia. He tells them there is usually teeth marks on the tongue in a hanging. There are not any teeth marks on James's tongue. He shows them ink on James's penis. Nick and Sarah talk with Matt and Kyle again. When asked, Kyle tells them the chapter does not haze, as president he enforces it to the letter. Kyle mentions there is an initiation. James was way behind in points. He needed to get his johnson signed to catch up. Kyle caught him singing himself in the bathroom. That is when Matt dinged him, but they did not kill him. Sarah does not buy it. Warrick calls Judge Cohen and tells him they need to meet. Grissom and Catherine are with Dr. Williams and Wendy's body. She has a contusion to the right temple with lime green splinters embedded in it. Minimal pulmonary aspiration, her lungs were not flooded. She had eaten calamari about three hours before she died. Grissom and Catherine go to the only restaurant around that serves calamari. They get the name of the man Wendy was with last Tuesday night, Mr. Swelco. They go see him. He admits to having dinner with Wendy and to having an affair with he. After dinner they went back to the marina in her car and took his boat back to his place. They made love and Wendy left in his boat. When asked where the boat is now, Mr. Swelco said it is at the marina. As they leave they are approached by Mr. Barger asking for an update on the case. He tells them he knows Mr. Swelco informally. Grissom promises him they will keep him posted in the investigation. Catherine reports to Grissom, the boat is not at the marina. Nick and Sarah go over the coroner's preliminary report. James had a strip of raw calf's liver in his throat. COD choking. Microscopic threads of fabric were found embedded in the liver. They go back to the frat house and talk with Kyle. He tells them James begged for one more shot. They came up with a challenge, swallowing raw liver. He choked and he and Matt tried to save him with the Heimlich maneuver but he died. They freaked and tried to make it look like he hung himself. Kyle tells them his dad is a top defense attorney. Nick and Sarah go back to the coroner and James's body. The coroner had James's privates magnified and the name Jill W. can be read on James johnson. Nick and Sarah talk with Jill and learn Kyle is her boyfriend. Nick and Sarah go back to the crime scene and find a string with a loop at one end. Grissom tries to find the missing boat using a simulation tank at the lab. Catherine goes on foot and finds it. It was right where Grissom's model showed it would be. Warrick meets with Judge Cohen and gets him to make some incriminating statements, then has him arrested. He was wearing a wire. Grissom and Catherine examine the boat. Catherine finds some skin on the top edge, which is lime green. Grissom finds some blood and had Brass bring Mr. Swelco in. Brass tells Grissom, he said he cut himself cleaning fish. Mr. Barger shows up and sees Mr. Swelco and wants to know what is going on. Catherine sits down with him while Grissom goes with Mr. Swelco. Mr. Barger tells Cathrine he suspected Wendy was seeing someone else. She told him what they know about Mr. Swelco and Wendy. In the next scene Grissom and Catherine have words on what Mr. Barger needs to know about the affair. Grissom admits he is deficient in a lot of ways, but he never screws up a case with personal stuff. To which Catherine responds "What personal stuff." Nick and Sarah talk with Matt and convince him to come clean. He tells them when Kyle found out that Jill had signed James's johnson he took him up stairs and told him he was still behind in points. He was to swallow a piece of raw liver on a string and trust Kyle to pull it out when he became choked. Jame swallowed the liver but Kyle let him die. Matt came in and sees what happened. Kyle tells him his father will bail out the chapter, just follow his lead and keep your mouth shut. Nick goes by the jail and tells Kyle the new charge is first degree murder. Grissom and Catherine are back with the boat. Grissom realizes Wendy ran out of gas and panicked. She dislocated he shoulder trying to restart the motor and hit her head on the edge of the boat, killing her then she fell in the lake where a barge propeller severed her leg. Grissom asks Catherine for a truce in their difference of opinion, which she accepts. They go to tell Mr. Barger his wife's death was an accident. They end up at Mr. Swelco's house where Mr. Barger has killed him, thinking he killed his wife.
