  • Grissom and his team investigate what appears to be a mass suicide of a group of cult members at an abandoned military facility.

To date this my favorite episode of the sixth season of CSI. With this episode the show continues it's streak of well written scripts and cleverly plotted episdes. I like the plot twist in the episode mainly because it seemed plausible and it worked well. Another thing that makes "Shooting Stars" such a great episode is because it shows the dangers that cults can become. We have all seen it with Jim Jones, David Korech and, most recently, Marshall Appelwhite (who's Heaven's Gate cult is mentioned by Grissom in this episode). They are a serious problem in our world.

  • Slight mess up and character depth.

Obviously the "tire iron" comment was absolutely wrong in that it was a crowbar. Not even a way to mistake it. I did enjoy the character depth. Showing us who Warrick married. Showing the discomfort Nick had to feel going under ground. His hesitation was that to show the viewer the lasting effects of his live burial. Yet not enough to really let his co-workers see it. I did think that the plot built up a little much for what it turned out to actually be :) That could very well have be the entire point they were making in the end.
  • Keeps you glued to the TV as usual.

This episode revealed a couple of things. ONe Warrick's new wife and the fear Nick still has of close quarters. I didnt really care for Warrick's wife. Not because I would rather see him and Catherine together, but because it all seemed so fast. So what if Nick's ordeal made him feel like he needed to get married. Unless I missed something, I never heard Warrick mention dating her prior to what happened to Nick. As far as Nick goes, you can still see that the ordeal he went through still effects him. He hesitates as he approaches the compound, but he eventually goes down and does his job.
  • Almost perfect.

Loved this, well written. Hope to see more like this. Although I find that the episodes are getting scarier, I actually jumped in my seat when Gill and Katherine was down in the bunker and the two policemen came. But I love it!

And has Nick found someone "special"? That would be nice.
  • Interesting as always!!!

The beginning was very interesting and

exciting. This episode showed us that

Nick has problems with underground area,

which he's really trying to overcome.(I

hope they could catched the bad guy who

had part in kidnaping Nick last season

    soon.)

Anyway, it was so hard to believe that

some freak religions really have ability

to convince many educated kinds to take

part and suicide. Well, maybe education

    could not help!

I hope this episode could changed some

    peoples' mind after watched it!

A very interesting episode to say the least dealing with a cult and the use of a meteor shower to supposedly 'leave' the planet. Didn't see the leader of the cult getting killed by one of his own people though, not by a long shot. It was nice to finally meet Warrick's mystery wife. Something tells me that we haven't seen the last of the wife's ex who she works with at the hospital.
  • Another good one from the writers at CSI headquarters.

This has probably been my favourite episode to date from this season. It was good to meet Warrick's wife, Tina for the first time. I hope that we get to see more of her as the season continues and we learn more about her.

I liked the plot of the episode and how they went about solving the case. Very much like the X-Files. It provides a few laughs from the cast and as usually, had great acting. We, once again saw little from Greg and Hodges didn't even appear in this episode that I don't believe has ever happened since the introduction of Hodges. Overall, a good episode that, like the ads say, proved why CSI is the most watched show on television.

  • The shows ending was not that great, but it always leaves you wanting more, next week.

The episode was very suspenes ful. I loved Grissom and Catherines humor during the show. I felt this episode was great and a little scary. I mean a cult episode. The show always comes up with great story lines and this show proved it again. Greg was also great too, he is on his way to a great CSI. Warrick and his wife, kinda hot, but I'd like to see how it turns out thst her ex husband is her co-worker. Drama Drama.........No other CSI tv show can touch Las Vegas. Also glad to see the Blonde woman cop back.
  • This episode was about cult members that were found dead in an abandoned military base. They found that they had drunk poisened water. Not good.

This episode was so good. I loved it. The 6th season has really stepped up on its cases and has really looked into the CSIs' lives a little bit more! I also like how they went into cases from real events like Jonestown and Heaven's Gate. That was really cool. I really hope we see a little more of Sara and Grissom soon though! I've got high hopes that they'll get together soon and I hope Warick splits w/ his girl and gets together with Catherine. That's be wonderful! Can't wait until Gum Drops!!
  • An interesting episode that shows the variety of topics that CSI covers.

An episode like this is a good break from the regular. While most episodes show the team of CSIs working on two or three cases, ones that show the team all focusing on one case are always a welcome diversion.

The topic of a suicide cult is also an interesting topic, and the con man only wanting to put them to sleep was new to me. I am always amazed at how the writers come up with the wide variety of cases on all three CSI shows.

This episode shows why CSI is one of the most watched shows in America.
  • A dead guy is dumped on a couple's lawn; when the CSI team investigates, they uncover a cult that believed their "ascention" coincides with the huge meteor shower occuring at the same time.

Absolutely wonderful. This is not only why I watch the series, but also why I tape it so I can watch it more than once. I love how Law & Order, as well as CSI, have pop culture references without actually talking about them. :o) Grissom's quirks have been amplified this season, which is what makes him the most amazing character on the show. A definite hit.
  • Impressionable teens and sex. Never a good combination.

This episode seems to give a warning. Watch out for cults. Humans tend to want to believe in something, religion, science, the dinosaurs. And whilst most of it is harmless I find the subject of belief is often fraught with problems. And I do have to admit I like quantifiable evidence and so believe the story of the big bang over the seven days of creation I do find the story of alien spaceships tagging along in comets a mite bit imagination and belief stretching.

But it shows that humans can be impressionable and whilst the cult leader just wanted to make a few bucks, never actually intending to kill any of the followers although the cruelty of them waking up afterwards, realising that something was seriously wrong could be psychologically damaging they still would have been alive.

The warning though is clear. This episode does shine a light on the nature of cults, how they suck you in, how consuming they can be, I do realise that the mass suicide is only in the minority but the paralles that can be drawn with some religions you hear about in the papers and magazines is worrying.

Nicks fear of the bunker is subtle which is all it really needs and creates some realism to the character without making it a big issue which suits the style of the show.

The twists and turns this week were well handled and the cult idea was explored carefully leaving us to draw our own conclusions about them.

    A good episode.
  • People try to commit mass suicide so that they can go to another world (yeah crazy i know!)

So i though this episode was pretty good i like how it was revolved around the meteor-shower comming. There is alot of stuff in this episode like they found one guy dead away from all the other people and though that he tried getting away but he was really trying to get his ex girlfriend out of the place. In the end they figure out that one girl got away and this girl was a freak she tried commiting suicide but they pumped her stomach just in time! She wasnt happy and her and grissom had a nice talk about why and how they did all that stuff.
  • Mass suicide...

    9.5
    "Superb"
11 bodies are found, apparently they commited suicide (mass suicide) by drinking chemical substances. 1 bed is empty, and the person might be the one who is responsible for the mass suicide. Nick hesitates when he is going down, apparently the case in 5x24 (Grave Danger) seriously affected his job.

Another great episode. Danny Cannon, who is the writer and also the director of this episode, done a very good job to this episode. This episode is considered special because it's about religion (bad religion) and they think they can live happily in heaven if they die. One word to describe them--idiots. And we finally met Warrick's wife (beautiful). Love this episode, I just love it. CSI is getting better and better.
  • The 11 apostles and 1 prophet of a cult are murdered by the last apostle: Abigail Spencer. The prophet, Joseph Diamond, moves from country to country, tricking college kids out of their parents' money. Abigail finds out and decides to kill everyone.

    8.6
    "Great"
The leader of a cult, Joseph Diamond travels around convincing college students to drop out, write home to their parents asking for money, then "ascend" with him "to the mother ship". Instead he gives them Zolpidem to drink so they'll sleep for ages, then splits to somewhere else so he can trick more people. He's done this several times before, and he's always been successful. But this time, an apostle, Abigail Spencer finds out about his plan to put them all to sleep, then run away, so she clubs him to death with a crowbar. She then subsitutes the Zolpidem for something a little stronger, and everyone ends up dying. Except Abigail herself. She goes home to her mother, then the police catch up to her and she tries to commit suicide, but they pump her stomach at the hospital, and she lives. Barely. Grissom goes to visit her in the hospital, and tells her if there's something up there watching us, they're wise enough to stay away. I liked this episode, but it was very dark. For example, we are shown really disturbing scenes of the cult members drinking the poison and dying. After watching "Shooting Stars" for the first time, I couldn't sleep. I think this episode should have gotten the "Due to mature theme, viewer discretion is advised" warning, like "Butterflied" (dismembered guy) and "Pirates of the Third Reich" (hidden torture chamber, where Leon Sneller conducts horrifying "scientific" experiments on people).
  • Very well written episode, I loved it!

    "Superb"
This was a excellent episode that looked into a small cult who believe they could go to a better place.

A horrible way to die by being poisoned but was acted very well by all.

I would not have waited until everyone else died because it would have freaked me out too.

    Excellent location for this episode.

Nick got a little freaked out because he had to go under ground but that was fully understandable. I am glad they didn't just dismiss it and forget what he had been through and how it might effect him in future episodes.

Also in this episode we see Warrick's new wife. Even though I am a Warrick and Catherine fan I though his wife seemed very nice and they both seemed happy ... but I wonder how long it is going to last?
  • an original case, and again it keeps you at the egde of your seat as it stays tense until the ending.

one case and the whole team is on it. good divided roles and a nice plot.

a body gets dumped by a horde of dirty kids and run. later a base is found where they stayed. at some moments I thought it was tending towards the Science Fiction genre, but then it appeared it was a suicide cult.

it had well-written moment and the cast played it out perfect. the struggle Nick had with going into an underground base was quite clear.

in the end, a original two murders and 11 suicides and one attempted suicide. what do you want more for an episode?
  • Another great episode...as always.

    Another great episode as always.

This time the case was about a mass suicide and we saw the whole team focusing on this one single case .

Also in Shooting Stars we finally get to meet Tina, Warricks wife, and also find out that she's still working with her ex & that Warrick doesn't like it one bit. Maybe a hint that their marriage won't last ???

Another thing we discover in this episode is that Nick is uncomfortable going underground, after his being burried alive experience in Grave Danger, but he quickly overcame his fear and did his job.
