  • Grissom and his team are called to a park where a military widow claims her son was kidnapped. After giving a description of the kidnapper, a suspect is arrested and the boy is found case closed. Or is it?

This episode was fantastic. It's an example of why I am a CSI fan. Very well written and acted. Plausible through out and just plain entertaining. The brief side story about Gil Grissom's father does not get in the way of the main story which is great because many times we see subplots get in the way or overshadow the main plot. The conclusion is not something that I saw coming and I don't think many other people will either. Definitly one of the season's best.

  • This was very painful to watch - I hope the poor parents who were the real victims sued the CSI for millions of bucks. And how can they make a psycho woman the victim here? Sorry hormones or not - this is indefensible to kill a child!

This was very painful to watch - I hope the poor parents who were the real victims sued the CSI for millions of bucks. And how can they make a psycho woman the victim here? Sorry hormones or not - this is indefensible to kill a child! She destroyed her child - she totally destroyed his grandparents and if this were Ghost Whisper the hubby would come back to exact his revenge! My only problem with this series is that they go head on destroying peoples lives - but we never get to see if yhey get a comeupance most especially my least favorite character Sara - suicidal! So sorry to see she is coming back!
  • Karen reports her son, Jesse has been kidnapped from the park. The CSIs are called in to investigate...

Karen reports her son has been kidnapped from the park and actually her son is already dead. She killed her own son!! She used the pictures on the internet to fake Jesse's picture. What an odd person! However, this episode is good. The best episode so far in this season. I like how they investigate the case, especially after another couple accused that the young boy is theirs.

I think I know why David Rambo, the writer of this episode is so famous. The episodes he written are good, interesting and exciting. Compared this episode to the season 5 episode "Big Middle", "Weeping Willows". It's a very huge different. I love this episode so much!
  • A woman reports her son missing, and the CSIs follow the trail to a couple at a convenience store with a boy who matches the description of the missing kid. The couple claim he's their son. DNA tests confirm that the kid is the son of the couple.

When the CSIs dig a little deeper (both literally and figuratively), they find the son, Jesse, buried in the backyard. The woman, in a fit of psychosis, had killed her son with drugs directly after her husband's funeral. Her husband had worked in the millitary, and had been killed on duty in Afghanistan. The woman, Karen, did not want a life in the millitary for her Jesse, so she had used her own prescription anti-psychosis drugs to murder him. After his death, Karen continued to pretend Jesse lived in her house. She did finger paintings, prepared breakfast for him (also messed it up to make it look like a 6-year-old had a tantrum), and had picnics at the park with him.

I think this episode was one of the most creative yet far-fetched installments on CSI. The storyline was extremely well written, and the actors/actresses were amazing. Overall, SUPERB!
  • So there was an amber alert for nothig! that girl killed her real son a while ago!

So you've all herd of imaginary friends....well what about imaginary sons? This girl is crazy every day she "pretends" that she has a son! Well she really did have a son but she went crazy and killed him when he was like four. So this huge search goes on looking for a kid thats dead! But she is like crazy so she has pictures of this like other kid and they have to DNA match and stuff. If you ask me that chick was just stright up crazy and needs to be put in a physco ward. She has medication but im pretty sure shes not using it!

Very good episode, just like the rest of the show. When I heard them incorperate Depeche Mode into the show, I was very happy. More and more shows are using them as show songs. Also Hal Sparks makes a cameo, making it even better. Very good actor - glad to see all the crew back together. Lastly at the end when the girl visits Nick, leaves you on a cliff hanger for the future.
  • A very different episode.

This episode was very different from what we are used to. I thought the storyline was very unique and I liked it for that. I failed to see a lot of interaction between the CSIs. Toward the end it got a little predictable, but the rest of the episode left me guessing. I felt bad for grissom when he was talking about his father. That was probably hard for him. I think something the writers of CSI could do is to do at least one episode that doesnt deal with murder or death. Maybe like a huge robbery or something like that.

Woman is in the park and in a second her son shows up missing. Found blood on a broken lock in bathroom on playground. Found Jesse's underware. Child was abducted while using the bathroom. Boys grandfather wants for him to come stay with them, but mother disagrees. She says it's took strict there. two identicle boys. Nobody has actually seen Jesse. Jesse has been missing for four years. Woman thought that Adam was her son. Jesse died four years ago when her husband did. Mother poisoned Jesse b/c of the pressure she was on. She was seeing the ghost of her son.
  • Boy...this episode had a hell of a lot of promise...

This episode could have been a classic. It had the potential to be one of the best episodes to date. It fell well short in the end.

The story was set up expertly, with lot\'s of twists and revelations which kept the audience guessing. I had absolutely no clue how it was going to end. I was just praying that it would be good. I was let down though. I just think they could have come up with a much better ending.

Also, it may just be me but i found i was a little confused. Did anyone else hear when Catherine announced the results of the DNA test, and she said that the kid belonged to the Espositos? But didn\'t she finish by saying that Jesse/Adam had a few aleles or wotever in common with Karen. I was led to believe that Adam Esposito was somehow related to Karen, and that maybe Jesse was actually Adam\'s twin brother seperated at birth or something. Maybe that\'s why i was let down by the ending, but that is what i thought she said.
  • Kinda weird.

This episode was a fairly good episode. It brought to light something that is not always paid attention to in our society: mental illness. Many a criminal plead insane to the charges of their crimes but never in CSI have we had such a plainly obvious mental person. At the end of the episode I couldn't help feeling sorry for the woman and scared of her at the time.

We all know that parents can get very protective of their children. The suspect took it to a whole new level and it was a great continuation of the originality that we've seen throughout the history of this series.

The plotline was good. We all know that kidnappings can have a very weird effect on parents. The "stress" turned out to be something different this time and it was great. It kept me tuned into my TV for the whole hour and left me with that "I don't want it to end" feeling. I do have to admit though that that the plotline was kinda weird and left me with that weird feeling after.

All in all, episodes like these are the reason that I watch CSI.
  • A little boy has gone missing at the park and a pair of soiled pants are found in the toinlets indicating the child was taken for sexual reasons. But all is not wat it seems

This episode was very weird when u think you had it all worked out something came round the corner and hit you in the ass.It was a very confusing episode you would have never guessed that the mother was a mourning mum in disbelief that her child was gone.

Yet in the episode right at the end you see her go a little more crazy.

Cath finds it very easy to relate to her as if she lost her child but when everyhting becomes clearer she steps back and wonders to herself.

It reminds me of when i thought i lost something that i never had.

Except hers was more of a disalusion than a sign of forgetfulness.
  • Yeah! It's gone! Good Episode

I live in the uk so i finally got round to wathing the episode today. As usual it was a very good episode and actually had some continuity which the programme didn't used to have. They used to have something hapoen to the character and then forget about it by the next episode. But i suppose there are a lot of questions left unanswerd by Grave Danger.

I checked the tv guide earlier and thought the plot looked quite good but i ended up losing track of the first half as i realised the thing on 'Nick's' upper lip had finally dissappeared! Yeah!
  • Boy, was I wrong!

Now, Ms. Matthews (Jesse's mom) seemed a little "off" the entire episode, but I thought it was because she was involved in some kind of conspiracy kidnapping of her own child. But now, that wouldn't leave much for the CSI's to do and the plot would be better suited for an episode of Without a Trace. So, then I figured that maybe she had kidnapped the boy when he was younger and passed him off as her own until his real parents finally found him and took him back--fairly reminiscent of one of my favorite books when I was a kid, The Face on the Milk Carton. Not once did I think the woman might have a delusional psychotic problem, but that's just me and my momentary inability to think outside the box while watching CSI (a lesson I should have learned by now!). On a character note, I'm glad Grissom finally opened up to SOMEONE! And I'm even more glad it was Catherine. I knew she would (and should) be the one he would finally talk to about his past. (Not that I'm at all a G/C shipper, I just love the bond they have.) Learning about Grissom's father and his death may have been just one minute revelation of Grissom's pre-CSI life, but it speaks volumes as to why Grissom is Grissom. Euphoric moment of the night? Seeing Nick's gorgeous upper lip again! Finally.
  • This episode in paticular, mirrors that movie starring juliann moore; 'the forgotten'. in the movie her character tells everyone that her child died on a plane crash, when in fact, he doesn't exist at all. I noticed that similarity at the end of the episo

this episode was a very good one. The other csi episode that was also very good was, grave danger. I liked how in still life the girl whose father had nick buried alive came back and told him that she thought about what he said to her when he visited her prison and she just wanted to let him know that.
  • And one starts thinking one thing and then they show how mistaken we were.

That woman wasn't even thinking of the kid until she looks back and can't see the child that was over there before.

Can this happen in real life? Imagine you're shopping with your family and suddenly the police takes you cause you kidnapped a child, but you know it's yours. You saw him being born, growing up. This can't be happening you might think.

But DNA testing can determine who's the real parent.

It was like she was taking herself to jail without even knowing it. She could have stayed in her house and no-one would have discovered what she did. What she practically erased from her mind.

I liked this episode cause it had a good plot. Great mother scenes, and they solved the crime. Although it wasn't the one they were called about. But if you think about it, it was. Cause they discovered what happened to her son.
  • Still a great show.

I'll admit that the only other episode of the 6th season I've seen is the disappointing season opener. This was a great episode. I was pretty confused until close to the end, and they managed to drag out a story for the whole 45 minutes, which I didn't think they were really capable of doing anymore.
  • Do my eyes decieve me??? It's actually gone!!!

    A truly great episode.

First things first, Nick has finally come to his senses & shaved the 'stache off. Finally I could watch this episode without any distraction. This moment should be written down in television history, "The Day the Mostache Died" one of the top 10 moments in TV for 2005.

Enough rejoicing & back to the episode.

A mother looking for her missing child, who has actually been dead for years but she believes he's alive. Again the whole CSI team come together on another case involving a missing child, and this time Grissom included.

Kelly Gordan showing up to visit Nick was a surprise, I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of her yet.

Another great moment in this episode was finding out about Grissoms past & why he is the way he is. But the writers made one mistake in my opinion and that is that he told the wrong person, he confided in Catherine when in my opinion it should have been Sara, that would have made a great GSR moment. And Sara would have shown some compassion not like Catherine who acted like she didn't really care.

I can't wait for the rest of the season, hope it's soon.

  • A missing child: every mother's worse nightmare.

This was a very sad episode of CSI. It was sad at the beginning when her child was kidnapped and then they found him and he says she is not his mother. It is sad how she lost her husband then her son and now her life. I feel sorry for her but she has gone crazy. I could not live like that at all.
  • Craziness takes over.

A very neat and exciting episode. It seems that we meet a distraut mother who has lost her child. Some man in a blue 51's hat has taken him. Disheartened when we are with Warrick as he finds soiled boys underwear in the stall of the bathroom. Blood is on the floor and a piece of a sharp toilet paper roll holder is broke off with blood on it as well. Then we find out this probably isn't her child. Maybe she killed her own child. We find out she is supposedly "crazy" and taking the oh so strong antipsychotic of olanzipine or Zyprexa by brand. It is an atypical that isn't strong. Strong would be Haldol or Thorazine. The ending of the episode tries to show her psychotic nature. Quite the enjoyable episode except for the pharmacalogical mistake.
  • I haven't watched CSI, but after seeing this episode, I'm hooked! I liked all the characters, the plot was wonderfully emotional-rare for TV. The boy was adorable and I'm not fond of TV with children. Exceptional! What has the boy been in before? Thanks

Nick finally came to his senses and shaved the mustache of that pretty face of his. Please dont grow another one. This episode was pretty good. The mother really had lost it. SHe kills her son then goes on pretending he is alive and then tries to still another kid as if he was her son. She had to have known DNA would prove she was not the real mother. Please put Catherine and Warrick together. I think they could be really good together. It was also good to see Nick coming to terms with what happened.

This week's episode - the case of the disappearing moustache (oh, thank goodness...) If ever there was a face not meant for a moustache, it is George Eads'. It just makes him look like a refugee from the seventies.

This episode plays on the fears foremost in the minds of any parent. Having your child disappear from right in front of you - wow. Then to have second set of parents show up claiming the child is theirs...

The twists this episode is taking are amazing. Finally, I'm getting truly stuck into an episode. Going to have to go away and watch this one again, I think.

Definitely one of the better episodes so far this season - and, really, I'm *so* glad Nick shaved...

  • The whole team is sent on a search for a small boy who's gone missing. But when they find the boy, the case reveals a bizarre twist.

First thing's first: the moustache is gone! I actually cheered, when I saw that.

The casefile was one of those really bizarre ones that I can't even comprehend to understand. The acting in this ep was above-average. Heather Stevens as the presumed mother of the missing child was simply great. She convinced us all and the scene at the end of the episode broke my heart.

The surprise visit of Kelly Gordon was a nice touch - we still haven't heard back from that tape, so I wonder what this means in regards to future episodes.

All in all: a well-done episode, but it's not going to be one of my all-time favourites.
  • A mother goes too far to protect her child. And Nick shaved!

I about came out of my chair when I seen that Nick had found his long lost razor! This episode will go down in CSI history as “The One Where Nick Shaved”.

I got that bad vibe right from the start with that mother. That says good acting to me! A little much on the crazy side, she developed a fantasy child. When that child left with his real family the police are called.

What turned out to be a sad ending, worse then the thought of a child being kidnapped and murdered by a stranger…a child killed by a parent. The psychosis of the mother was so real that she even made messes in her home to bring her child “to life”.

What caught me off guard what when Grissom opened up to Catherine. I was unaware of the sad past of Grissom, and the character development was nice. It leaves this viewer to wonder where that is going.

Nicks unexpected visitor is going to have to stir the pot, what will happen to Nick now?

Overall wonderful episode, the acting and writing was great. This CSI viewer knows why I tune in every week…

  • Fans everywhere overjoyed at the prospect of someone resembling the man we all knew as Nick.

    9.7
    "Superb"
He shaved, he shaved, he shaved. When I saw that Nick was sans moustache this episode I nearly cried with happiness. He can now be considered hot once again. It shall be what the episode is remembered for most, not the fact that there was a crazy mother, or the sad facts about Grissom's past, or even that Kelly Gordon is out on parole.

We are given the opportunity to take a look at Grissom's life and see somewhat of why he is the way he is. It was sad to learn the facts of how Grissom's dad died and it must have been hard for him to know that he was in the room when his dad died. It could not have been easy knowing that each Christmas there was a present under the tree for a man who was dead. Catherine though acted like she already knew or she didn't even really care. I bet that Grillow's everywhere thought that it could be considered a scene that could be read into but it wasn't so move on. It is always great to learn about Grissom and this was something of particular interest to learn.

The plot for this episode was great. Knowing that David Rambo wrote the episode meant that we were in for a good episode no matter what the episode was. The acting as always was great. Now I shall make a list of the good parts and the bad parts of the episode.

    Good:

    1. Nick shaved of the 'stache of doom.

    2. We learn about Grissom.

    3. No Spork (I was actually quite shocked to have an episode without Spork but it was a nice change from having Spork shoved down our throats.)

    4. Kelly Gordon is out so we can have a more developing plot.

    Bad:

There was only one bad moment in the episode and that was the fact that it was written by David Rambo yet there was not a single moment of GSR. He wrote "Butterflied" yet didn't even put a hint of GSR in the episode.

That aside though it is another great episode from a show that is having one of the most memorable seasons in television history.

  • Crazy kid mix-ups! Warrick gets a very short lab partner! Grissom reveals all! Nick shaves the moustache! Fans everywhere celebrate the disappearance of said moustache! Huzzah!

This episode was fantastic! The storyline was original and interesting. Grissom talks for the first time about his father and we learn that his death was probably Grissom's motivation to work in forensics, that he wanted to know the "why" behind the death. Nick, now facial hair free, gets a surprise visit from Kelly, the daughter of his attacker from last season. She's out of jail and I smell a continuing plot line that somehow connects to the tape that was given to the lab in the first episode of the season. Warrick looked hot and is good with children, causing women everywhere to swoon and curse his TV wife. Awesome episode.
