  • One of the worst episodes - Guest Actress could not act!

    1.0
    "Abysmal"
I hope this is the exception and not the norm! I also couldn't work out whether this episode was supposed to be scary, or silly.

It didn't do anything for me. It felt as though they were so desperately trying to do a "scary movie" but didn't quite manage it. It was neither scary nor silly, but somewhere in the middle - most of the time I wasn't sure whether I should be laughing or whether it was supposed to be something serious. I did giggle at the cheesy CGI effects of Wendy getting hacked in half though!

The scene between Greg and Sara in the locker room felt very out of place, very thrown in at the last minute, maybe if it had some follow through it would have been better, but it just seemed so out of place with the rest of the episode.

All in all, it was an OK episode, not CSI's worst, but certainly no-where near the best IMHO.
  • A murder on the set of a movie set.

I really didnt like this episode at all. First there was way too much of ronnie and i really think she should have gotten killed off. They dont need her on there so why, what was the point of even putting her in danger...no one cares about her yet. The best part of this episode was the little person thaat was hitting on catherine it made me laugh because of how he talked to her. When they showed the set and he was hanging there upside down i thought that catherine did it because it was REALLY close to what she said on the phone so i was kinda freaking out.
  • This is probably the first time that those lab people shared something unrelated to their work.

    9.6
    "Superb"
It is wonderful to see those lab staff had a sharing session of their own, not on cases. They have contributed a lot to the success of the show.

When Ronnie was offered a place in the cult horror film industry, I thought this was exactly the right place for her, not in the crime lab. All the rookies that had been brought into the lab before were very professional, subtle and intelligent. She totally does not fit in. Cath's interaction with Dickie was hilarious. Sara was so unpredictable. How come a very dedicated criminologist suddenly getting sick of dealing with dead people? What a poor character development! Plotting for her exit? Maybe... But you just can't pick up anything handy. That's why this show cannot get a perfect 10.
  • CSI Horror Style!!!

    "Perfect"
Ok i know alot of people have mixed views of this episode but i loved it!! Throwing the CSI Team into a mini horror movie was a great idea.

The funniest scene in the episode was without a doubt when the "little person" flirted with Catherine, her reaction and his comments where just histerical. The scene with Captain Brass and the director was also pretty funny.

I liked the addition of the new girl (who's name i can't remember)and although she didn't make many appearences after this episode she certainly should have, she added a great feel to this episode and was a good actress, i'd have been happy to see her fill the gap left by Jorja Fox. For any CSI fans who havent yet caught this episode i highly recommend it, wierd, creepy and funny, one of my fave episodes of CSI!
  • Not bad but not that good.

    7.5
    "Good"
I guess the reason I didn't like this episode is because they tried to fit in the horror movie in the actual case and it seemed a little predictable. Starting with Ronnie visiting the crime scene with Nick and Catherine. I never liked Ronnie. She isn't as tough as the others. You might say that it is because she's young but it's not that. She lacks interest and passion.

Catherine, on the other hand, was great here. Her interaction with the little man was hilarious. Sara... I knew there was something wrong with her from the beginning. It seems like she doesn't know what she wants. She felt she was always the victim. Yes, she might've had a troubled past but that is gone and she should focus on the present and the people that care about her. So she's tired of fighting crime? If she spent all those years studying to become a CSI, where's her passion? She has none. Too bad we didn't get much of Grissom. It was fun to see Doc and David having a good time together. Hope the next episode is better.
  • Halloween, CSI style

    8.3
    "Great"
This episode wasn't as bad as people make it out to be but it wasn't my favorite either. I didn't like that most of the major stars did not get much air time and Warrick was not in it at all! I mean Sara was in it for two scenes and she is leaving soon, I hoped she would have a couple of major story lines before she left, and I really hope she comes back and she is not leaving for good, because I love her!! I also did not like the fact that nothing was brought up about the proposal, especially after they made it such a big part of last week's episode. I also do not like horror movies so that is probably why I didn't really like the case, even if it was Halloween.

Dispite the down falls it did have quite a few funny scenes in it. Like when Hodges was talking about Wendy's breasts, classic, and at the end with David and Doc watching the horror movie, funny! My favorite scene was with Catherine and Dixie, I don't know who was laughing harder Catherine or me!! Not the best episode but worth watching anyway!

  • A campy, silly parody of bad scary movies.

    5.3
    "Mediocre"
I have to say I was somewhat confused and unhappy with this episode. I love this show but I was waiting for some reference to Grissom's proposal to Sara. The whole bad scary movie theme was a little too campy for CSI. That isn't to say I didn't enjoy some of it...particularly Dickie and the goofy director. But the plot was silly and inappropriate for what's been happening on the show lately. Of course it is obvious that they are setting up for Sara leaving but they could have included her for more than 10 seconds and where was Warrick? Oh, and I do not like the new girl at all. UPDATE: I just had to come back after reading some of the other reviews. 1st-There was absolutely nothing creepy or frightening about this episode. 2nd-Comedic timing is not something I would praise in any CSI episode. Yes, they do throw in a bit of humor in each episode but it is sardonic and rather dark...not this cheesy.
  • Happy Halloween from CSI!

    9.0
    "Superb"
Eventhough this wasn't a normal episode of CSI, as others think, I really enjoyed it. Keeping in mind that it was a Halloween episode. Featuring horror movies, characters, being chased by crazy killers, and more movie blood than I have seen in a while. Anyway, this wasn't the norm, especially with CSI agents being chased and all, but it was spooky. I just wish that Dickie didn't die. I really enjoyed his characters conversations with Catherine. And I did love the line by the Director being shot, saying it was full of irony on how many people he killed in the room where he might die.
  • Worst episode of CSI ever.

    "Abysmal"
I really didn't like this episode. People are calling it a haloween themed episode but I mostly found it boring, lacking any real thought. The episode never seamed to develop into anything!! Bring on the next episode of CSI - I am sure it'll rock.

The only moment I enjoyed was Catherine flirting with the dwarf - but like everything else in the episode it was so stilted and unnatural.

And when are they going to stop making Ronnie 'part of the team' - she is nothing short of a chore and beings down every episode shes in. We already have Greg for unsuitable enthusiasim!!

I did not like this episode... but thats just my opinion!

Great holiday episode one of a few but the CSI's get it right I shouldn't be surprised. As to the original version of the franchise. This episode was a great holiday themed one and stand alone episode. As to the holiday portion the show takes place on a horror movie set of all places. Just like one of those movies we have bodies piling up mysteriously and poor Ronnie has to run from a mystery assailant. On the standard episode part each cast member had their part to play. We got a little more on the reasons Sara is leaving. Grissom popped up and added his two cents and Catherine got a ton of screen time. Her interactions with the sexually charged midget were hilarious. I also liked the Ronnie did something other than look inexperienced but at the same token she did the new recruit thing quite well. Good episode I really liked it all from start to end.
  • CSI's attempt at a Halloween episode.

    5.6
    "Mediocre"
This was probably the weakest CSI episode I've seen so far. It's disappointing because I was looking forward to watching this after being impressed by CSI:NY's Halloween eppy.

Case-wise, it was boring. Sure, the crime scene was a horror film studio (meaning there are lots and lots of disgusting props) to add to the scare factor but it just didn't do it for me. And to think I'm a big, fat chicken when it comes to horror. The resolution was predictable - I mean, it's always the guy who's eager to help, just like the butler always did it.

Warrick wasn't in the episode and Grissom, Sara and Greg had very little airtime, but the other characters were great as usual. I loved how Catherine laughed when Dickie Jones was hitting on her, and Wendy Simms doing a horror stint was cute.

As for Veronica Lake, I'm still not sure she's the right replacement for Sara, though I did like her in that scene where she came to Zack Putrid's aid, and when she was calmly asking Stanley Vespucci to put the gun down. I kind of saw her potential.

Anyhow, like I said, this was the weakest CSI episode. I just hope next week's eppy fairs a whole lot better.
  • If it wasn't for Martin Klebba character this episode would not be that good.

    7.0
    "Good"
I thought that this was an okay episode of CSI and the only resason I gave it a high score is because of Martin Klebba. I was surprised that they got the guy from Pirates of the Caribbean movies to play a character in there show and one of the best guest stars they have ever had. I liked the storyline with the star of a major horror films is killed seeing how this episode aired the day after halloween. I was disappointed the Jorja Fox was in only a few scenes in this episode I know she is leaving the show but she could still be in more of the episodes.
  • boring and cheesy...

    "Bad"
CSI tries Halloween and it was terrible. The team investigates the murder of some porn horror star and the investigation leads to a old burned-up boyfriend and some creepy stage manager guy. I knew it was him the entire time; this episode was predictable. The attmept at horror was pretty funny. The new girl was like freaking out. I hate horror movies, but the way CSI did horror was not scary but funny. Overall, not a very interesting case, cheesy at times, and a bit boring. I'm a little disappointed with CSI this season and I hope they pick it up or I'm not watching anymore.
  • Boring Epsiode - a first for CSI!

    4.0
    "Poor"
This might just be the worst episode of CSI ever and certainly the most boring. Neither scary nor funny it just felt forced. Not enough screen time for the best CSI's (Grissom, Greg, Warrick, Sarah, Hodges). Too much time with the suspects who just couldn't hold my attention and the newbie Ronnie whom the jury is still out on. Usually I don't have a problem with episodes that focus on on or two characters such as season 5's 'Committed'or Season 7 'Lab Rats' and in fact some of those episodes have been my favourites. All in all a very disapointing episode.
  • I'm being generous with the score, just because it's CSI...

    7.1
    "Good"
This had all the hallmarks of a classic. As long as it didn't take itself seriously and made me laugh, it would have been great.

Again the writers went a little left field with this episode, a little like Ending Happy. Not entirely believable, but good entertainment. Well, entertainment anyway. Of sorts.

It just didn't work. A lot of the funny bits came off forced (the D-Rob bit particulary - sorry!) There were exceptions of course, but nothing was particulary clever about the writing.

And the bit with Ronnie - who cares? She has been established pretty quickly as a joke character; like Hodges but a little more irritating. I like her better than a lot of people on the forum do, but to see her in this situation was wrong. She doesn't do heroine-in-distress very well. Imagine Hodges running around a haunted house and you may understand what I'm getting at. She is jokey - so write joky!

Highlights include the "Pooky" scenes and the film debut.

Actually, I've convinced myself to lower the score a little more. This episode really didn't sit right and was such a disappontment after the wait.

    Must. Write. Better.
  • So cheesy it had me laughing. What could be more fitting for Halloween that the death of a Horror Flick Chick?

    9.5
    "Superb"
This episode did it's best to poke fun of campy horror flicks. Solving the death of a horror flick queen was made for a perfect halloween treat. I loved the nutty director and the midget, Dickie. Dave had some funny lines when he displayed his enbthusiastic affection of the genre while I doubt if Grissom has ever seen a horror film. Catherine's scene with Dickie was the highlight of the show. While Sara and Grissom had very little screen time, I felt that if they should depart, the rest of the team will manage without them. I missed Warrick but it was nice to see Dave get a little more screen time.
  • Yeah, so I was bored...

    6.8
    "Fair"
I really was not into the whole Ronnie side of things. Not to mention I was um bored during that part and was not impressed by the rest of the episode. The highlights or moments I actually was interested in were the ones with Sara. Also, the Catherine and Dickie scene was cute, as was the Wendy and Hodges thing. Hmmm...Oh and David and D-Rob watching the movie in the end was entertaining. Though overall, sadly this is probably my least favorite episode and really the first time I have actually been bored during an episode. I am still trying to figure out why they wrote the episode in the first place.
  • Creepy.. and quite frighting to watch but that style change was quite interesting and fit with Halloween theme.

    7.4
    "Good"
The most remarkable thing about this episode is defenetly the style change - it was more like some horror movie rather than usual CSI. But it was enjoyable even though I am not big fan of horror movies. i just cannot stand the pressure and the frighting and that's why it was hard for me to watch it - it was too scary :)

But the case, that some characters not so much in the center of usual focus, got time to be in limelight. All those colorful characters who where the possible suspects, the atmosphere, effects - well done. For one time change, this was refreshing.
  • Weatherly Adams is found dead with an axe to her back. Who done it? The CSI team investigates to discover a sinister plot and cover-up.

    "Perfect"
Awesome episode! The characters had life, comedic timing. Loved the director, the guy burned, and Weatherly Adams! She's hot!Reminded me of a real movie star, like Monroe and Harlow.

Catherine was so on tonight as well! Loved the laughing part when the little guy comes on to her.The new CSI gal, also cool.

Guess I loved the female entertainers tonight.Where can I get a poster from "Can I lick the spoon?"

Kudos to the writer.I really enjoyed the story and plots. You could feel how much the burned guy loved the victim and the irony of her death and cover-up.I'd like to see more shows like this one.
  • Here, have some cheese.

    10
    "Perfect"
Lol, such a ridiculous epsiode. The writers are really getting good at that. At least they aren't boarding on WTF were they thinking?! No Warrick (unless I missed it), pity. OMG those slasher movies are so lame! Ronnie right, it's all boobs, brunets and blood. It's almost like pr0n without the secks.

LMAO!!! Dickie is so cool! "Ever had a man lick your thighs standing?" Catherine so should have taken him up on his offer. Pity he was shot and part of the murder investigation. Hm, me wonders if the episode show foreshadowing for the finale. this was a great epsidoe.
