  • Not a good episode, following the death of Warrick Brown

    "Mediocre"
I was 50/50 on this episode, the cases were good, espcially with the bank tellers being hypnotised. What made this episode one of the worst i've seen, is how they played out Sara leaving again. The woman didn't even say goodbye this time, she just packed her bags and left. And after the opening scene with GSR, the relationship seemed to go downhill from there, it left me with the question are they still together? because it feels like they aren't. Following the death of Warrick, they could have come up with a better episode, though I understand, that this is all leading up to the departure of Grissom, but come on?
  • An attractive young woman is at home cooking dinner when she receives a phone call. Afterwards she puts on a bikini and dives off her apartment balcony to her death. Elsewhere, a woman is found brutally murdered in an alley.

I did like this episode, but parts are greater than the whole. I did not like the part of the episode which involved the "suicide" of the young woman. When Nick and Katherine meet with the hypnotist she says she can't make her subjects do anything they don't want to and also says hypnotism is not what it seems. That said, she then commands two people two bank tellers to give her $10,000 and then directs a woman to kill herself. The story tries to have it both ways and I did not care for that. There are better episodes.
  • A Scintilating Episode

I loved this episode. So much is going on, that you will only be able to draw breath during the commercial breaks.

Primarily there are a number of sub-plots going through this particular episode. Three crimes are investigated. Though neither are particularly novel I did find them to possess enough twists to make keep my interest till the end. Add to this the brief return of Sara against the backdrop of Warrick departure and the intrigue and mystery of the two crimes are well matched against the emotion of grief and the confusion of changes that pervade the the LVPD.

Dialogue is of a little grander order than your usual episode, while the cast mainly flips from the field CSIs, not showing much in the way of backroom CSIs. The cops put a good showing to, as they get their fair share of screen-time solving the cases.

While different locations will keep your focus on screen as the crimes are worked through the system.

Whats more the actual endings to two of the stories - the dead hooker and the case of death by euthansia were I thought, what makes this episode worth watching.
  • Another good episode

In this episode of CSI, the following happens. A body falls on top of a moving bus, the victim is a female. We learn that she was due to get married in 2 weeks and was recently fired from her job. The team find out that she was fired for her drawer being short. They learn that it may have been a scam and there is another victim involved, Nick & Catherine go to see a hypnotherapist who may be involved, as both victims had been to see her. Another victim whose case Grissom is investigating is a school guidance councillor who has been murdered. We soon learn that she had her 2 year old daughter with her. She has a terrible gambling problem. They manage to track down the 2 year old and she is given back to her brother. We learn that the woman who jumped to her death has been hypnotised and believed that she was jumping into the water. The team track down the man who the guidance councillor was with and he admits to roughing her up, but not killing her. He claims she was alive when he left her. Sara deals with a case from 8 years ago. He claims he switched off his wife's life support machine after she was abused again by the man who put her in the coma. But it was all a lie.

The guidance councillor's son is arrested after he cashes the chip which she had on her when she died. When DNA is run, they learn that the mother, who was murdered, was not his mother. They also learn that Lexi is his daughter, not his sister. We learn that he is in the missing children's database. He admits to killing her after he learned that she had given Lexi away, to pay off her debts. We then see Sara packing up her stuff and leaving Vegas again.
  • 3 cases in one night. Each conveys different message and reflects different emotions of the CSI's after the death of Warrick. Even though not much forsenic stuff, CG effect; I still think this is a classic.

So glad to see the comeback of the CSI. The case with Catherine and Nick, I believe, reveals the fact that Catherine and Nick are sort of like being hypnotized by the job, trying to ignore the grief and pain of losing someone close. Grissom's case blows my mind... the victim and the killer's relationship is just a duplicate of him and Sara's. It makes him realizing the consequence of their unhealthy romantic relationship. And the case with Sara of course let her to understand the current status of her relationship with Grissom. All 3 cases carry different messages and in certain level reflect the emotions of the corresponding CSI's. That's what I expect after Warrick's death... That's classic!
  • Not so happy place

I wasn't terribly impressed with the follow-up to 'For Warrick'. Warrick has become merely a footnote, or so it seems. It isnt that I expected them to mourn him the entire season, I just expected a bit more of a melancholy feel to this episode. The cases were pretty interesting, especially the hypnosis victim. I was also glad to see some closure to the rape case that effected Sara so much. It just compounded the point that Sara isn't cut out for this work anymore. The biggest disappointment was how Gil seemed to accept that life goes on without Sara, and he is ok with that. Im still hoping he goes after her and that will be why he leaves the team.

I loved that little slips of Warrick all over this episode. It showed the realism that life does need to move forward but the loss is still felt and never forgotten. The team dynamic is definitely going to change and I look forward to seeing that change and develope. I think the concept of a hypotherapist was interesting enough. I knew almost immediately the Viviana was behind the robberies though, so I was a little diappointed at that fact. The situation with Pam Alder that found Sara back in the middle of things was interesting enough as well as believable. The gambling addiction of Paula was believable enough and that addiction unfortuately cost her everything, including her family. That unfortuanately was too believable.
  • Quick summary: Sara is back, then she leaves again. The rest of the episode is really inconsequential and forgettable.

Well, this episode just sucked. The allusions to past episodes were interesting and present throughout, but the end result was more misery and angst. Two depressing epis in a row, I think I'm done with the show. I'm tired of seeing Sara always coming to Grissom whenever he needs her, and then him being a jerk about it. It was like season 3 and early season 4 all over again. He doesn't deserve her. I hope she finds happiness wherever she's gone. And we never did find out about where Sara has been and what she has been doing all this time. Worst episode IMO. A real slap in the face to GSR fans. I know this is setting up Grissom's departure, but this was just cruel. The only bright spot in the whole show was Greg.

I do not know but I liked this episode - maybe it was the variety of episodes as there were three very different cases but they were somehow having all the same message and moving forward to the last scene of the episode.

I think the three cases were really well written - ok, the first case, woman who fell on bus, it was very predictable and from the moment we saw the hypnosist it was sure, she was behind it but the other case what Grissom had, wow.. until the end I did not even thought about the "son" being behind that. And Sara's case - it was all to remind us why she had to leave.

So, overall, very good stories, some shocking moments but overall it felt like something pushing us forward to something else.
