In this episode, this is the first and last time in all of the seasons so far that we hear Nick Stokes (George Eads) call his supervisor "Gil" instead of "Grissom".
Goof: When Grissom first arrives at his own home, he turns on his stereo and adjusts one of the levels. In one shot, he uses his left index finger to push it up, but in the next, he is moving it with his right index finger and thumb.
Goof: Robbins is talking to Grissom and Nick in the autopsy room, and the latest post autopsy female lies on the table. Grissom says, "He choked her unconscious, and brought her..." and when the shot faces her head and shoulders, watch her neck - you can see the veins in her neck pumping.
Goof: In the scene where Warrick pulls the piece of cloth from the toilet bowl, the amount of water and dirt changes between shots.
Goof: When Grissom, Nick, and Brass are in Spur's Corral, Grissom looks at the sombrero and asks Brass if he still has the picture he got from DeSilva's house. Then, Brass pulls it out of his coat pocket and hands it to Grissom. However the picture should've been filed as evidence.
Goof: While in the restaurant, seeing if Victor DeSilva works there, Grissom calls Captain Brass the name "Tim" instead of Jim.
Goof: The title of the book Sara is using for research on gorillas is titled "Gorilla: In It's Natural Habitat." "It's" is a contraction of "it is" and not the possessive form of "it" - the book should have used "Its" instead of "It's."
Goof: At the beginning of the episode the policeman are chasing a BMW that they say is on I-15, but it is clearly on a two lane highway complete with caution signs for two-way traffic.
Goof: When Grissom and Warrick investigate a dead jogger, Warrick says, "Look at his wounds." In the next shot, you can briefly see the jogger breathing.
When the team are examining the suspect's Ford Explorer, the dealer sticker is seen. Although some letters are marked out, the dealership is Richard Haney Ford of Carrollton, Georgia.
Goof: When Grissom, Sara and Warrick walk into Dr. Gilbert's office, Warrick is on the right side of the shot and away from open door. But when the shot is on Warrick and Sara for their reaction of Grissom's use of sign language, they have switched positions.
Goof: While at the crime scene in the coffee shop, Catherine isn't wearing gloves.
Warrick is left-handed.
Grissom learned to sign because his mother became deaf when she was eight.
Goof: In the scene where you see the older brother doing CPR on the baby brother Zachary, in the closeup you can definitely tell that it is a doll by the way it moves.
Warrick has been a CSI for six years.
Goof: As Grissom opens SUV door, the reflection of the film crew is very clear.
Goof: In one shot Grissom puts a shoe on its side with a pencil. In the next shot, the shoe is upright again.
Goof: When Nick gives the blank writing pad to one of the lab workers he states that he took it from the suspect's apartment, but at the apartment, Grissom found and bagged the writing pad while Nick is in another room.
Goof: The length of a dagger cannot be found by extrapolating the angles of its tip. The tip of a dagger angles out, and then generally tapers to parallel lines towards the guard and handle, the blade could be any length.
