  • Season 9 Episode 23: Hog Heaven

  • The motorcycle Raymond is riding is a BMW.

  • "Hog" is another term for a Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was the bike of choice for the gang depicted in this episode. The term is said to have come from a team of farm boys in the 1920's who would take a real pig on a victory lap upon winning races. It can also an acronym for "Harley Owners Group" as well as the stock ticker for the Harley Davidson company (NYSE: HOG).

  • Raymond Langston is able to appreciate motorcycles of all makes, which gives perspective to a scene later in the episode. In the beginning of the show, he is openly admiring all of the biker's Harley's parked outside of the clubhouse bar, while in the middle of the episode he rides a BMW motorcycle. Generally motorcycle fans strongly fall into one camp or another in their taste of bike.

This adds another layer of tension when he is sitting on his bike in the alley and a group of Harley riders ride by on either side of him. It is not just biker/outlaw riders vs. cop, it is a group of American made Harley Davidson's passing a lone BMW motorcycle.

  • Season 9 Episode 22: The Gone Dead Train

  • Goof: Catherine gets bit on her hand by the lady, yet when she's talking to Riley in the hospital, the bandage is on her wrist, and her hand is fine.

  • This is the second time Catherine gets attacked at a crime scene. The first being in the Season 3 episode "A Little Murder."

  • Season 9 Episode 21: If I Had A Hammer...

  • Goof: "The Rampart Casino fire" is mentioned as happening on the same night in 1991 as the crime in this episode. The Rampart actually opened in July of 1999, or eight years later.

  • Catherine was pregnant while processing the crime scene back in '91. Which suggests that Lindsey was either born in 1991 or 1992, making her about 17ish now.

  • Season 9 Episode 20: A Space Oddity

  • Several Battlestar Galactica (2003) alum appear throughout the episode:

Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica creator/producer) - Convention Attendee

Kate Vernon (Ellen Tigh) - Dr. Penelope Russell

Grace Park (Sharon Valerii/Boomer/Athena) - Convention Attendee, uncredited

Rekha Sharma (Tory Foster) - Convention Attendee, uncredited

Director Michael Nankin has also directed 8 episodes of Battlestar Galactica.

  • Michael Welch, who plays Steuben Lorenz in this episode, guest starred in a episode of Stargate SG-1.Stargate SG-1 is the longest running Sci-fi series in North America.

  • Kate Vernon played Dr. Penelope Russell in this episode who is also from the cast of Battlestar Galactica as Ellen Tigh.

  • Joshua Cox, who plays the commander in the opening scene, played a recurring character David Corwin on Babylon 5.

  • When Astro Quest Redux is presented to the convention fans and the camera pans across the shocked fans, one of them is Grace Park, an actress who played Boomer on the new version of Battlestar Galactica.

  • This episode doesn't just spoof Star Trek, it also spoofs the "reimagining" of Battlestar Galactica. In the scene where Astro Quest Redux is presented to the convention fans, the fan who yells "you suck!" is Ronald D. Moore, who was behind the new Battlestar Galactica series. He had his own tough time convincing fans of the old series of his vision when presented at the Comic Con in San Diego.

  • Season 9 Episode 19: The Descent of Man

  • There are a couple of instances where one set of CSI's pass another CSI in the hall who is talking in the background about an "unrelated" case. This is reminiscent of 4x4, where such overheard hallway dialog happened throughout the episode, and characters and events from the various the cases shared some sort of thread, even if only tangentially.

  • Season 9 Episode 18: Mascara

  • Goof: At the wrestling arena when Brass and Langston are interviewing the first and youngest wrestler, Brass reaches into his breast pocket and takes out a small wallet like case. By comparing its size to Brass's left thumb, you see it is no more than 3x3 or 3x4 inches in size. He then shows the wrestler a photo of the victim he removed from that case that shows no creases and is at least 4x6 inches in size. In the last interview with the MC he also shows him the photo of the victim, but this time the photo is at least 8x10 and by comparing the shoulder straps of the victim's dress you are seeing a wider view than the first photo.

  • Season 9 Episode 16: Turn, Turn, Turn

  • Nick's birthday is on February 9.

  • Goof: When Nick is out in the rain his pants are wet, the cap is dripping and his jacket is soaked, but when he gets inside he's all dry.

  • Goof: The candle keeps growing smaller even though no one lights it up again. It's possible that the sun could do that, but then the wick wouldn't have decreased too.

  • Season 9 Episode 15: Kill Me If You Can

  • Goof: Even though Langston has been a CSI only for awhile and Wendy has been in the field only few times, they don't have any of the older CSIs to supervise them in the crime scene. Isn't there a danger that they might make some mistakes because of their lack of experience? It doesn't seem likely that the crime lab, that is supposed to be second best in the country, would take this kinds of risks in a murder investigation.

  • Season 9 Episode 14: Miscarriage of Justice

  • Goof: Humphreys' alibi is that he's supposed to be 'chairing' a committee meeting isn't possible since staff members can't replace Congressmen in their official capacity (e.g may not vote, deliver a speech, speak at a Committee meeting or take a Congressman's seat at one).
