This episode started out really interesting - a woman being mauled by a mountain lion and a full-term baby being delivered from a dead mother's body. The scene of the baby's delivery was especially moving. But the rest of the episode was not as exciting, and the end was downright nonsense. Offensive, even. Are we supposed to believe the real reason the poor girl decided to take her boyfriend's belt and kill herself was because of the bullying and not because of the fact her boyfriend had just grabbed her, told her he had changed his mind and she should give up the child for adoption, and then walked out on them, in order not to lose a scholarship? The bullying may have played its part, but it was not the final catalyst that caused that pregnant girl to kill herself and her unborn child. As long as she believed she had a future with her boyfriend and their child, she did not allow herself being affected by the bullying - but when he walked out on them, she gave up. At the end, the cheerleaders were arrested, but the lousy father walked free and holding a child he had walked out on and whose mother's death he had inadvertedly caused.
I appreciate that the writers addressed the bullying theme because it's a problem that involves many people.
Technology is very useful and it sure has made our hectic lives much more practical, but when other people, in this case teenagers, find a different use, that's when we have a problem.
Nick and Ecklie's conversation in the end it's true but, no one should blame work for the lack of attention, love, care, support and dedication their kids need. Parents should find a way to spend time with them despite their own problems, care about their children's lives and be strict at the same time. It's easy to blame it on our jobs. Yes, we have jobs and we have responsibilities. But a kid is also a responsibility and a big one. And that goes for both situations here: the bullies and the girl being bullied.
Poor girl... I can only know how she felt. And she took the easiest way out. I'm always going to say what a good job the writers have done with Nick's character. He's professional but he's not completely detached from the victims and their families. Besides, him always pursuing better opportunities makes me want to hire him for being so proactive and ambitious.
The investigation of a case of a young woman mauled by a mountain lion leads Ray and Sara to an old friend of Grissom. Elsewhere Stokes goes on a personal mission to get justice for a young girl who may have been driven to suicide by cyberbullying.
When I heard Melinda Clarke would reprise her role as the fascinating Lady Heather I was very anxious to see this episode. Clarke is excellent as usual. However it's clear to see that the chemistry she had with William Petersen is not as strong with Laurence Fishburne. Still, it did not disappoint. The second story focusing on the tormented young girl was quite good, but it was bogged down by some contrived scenes with rather cornball dialogue. Especially the scene where Stokes congratulated Dr. Robbins for saving the life of the young girl's unborn child. Still a very good episode.
first of all, I want to say I´m very happy after seing Melinda clark in the show after two years of abscence, she is amazing and her job is brilliant, the human pet plot was creepy and good at the same time, the b side about the cyber bulliying was very good too.
maybe the most shocking part in this episode is when Dr robbin and nick find the dead girl in her room, I´m not going to say what happened here but definitively it was totally unexpected.
I don´t know if you agree with me but the girl who played lona was very convincent, I loved the scene where lady heather shows lansgtan the video tape and we find lona acting like a cat, it was very well acted.
maybe the reason why I´m not ginving a ten is beacuse of who the killer was, actually, it was not a real murder but I´m not going to say anything else about that point.
at the ending scene, when heather has the last conversation with Ray, I was kindda "OMG", what is comming about nate is going to be brilliant.

Interesting cases for tonight. The first case is about human pets. All I can say is that the world is weird, weird, weird. What else can humans think of? I mean, human pets? I don't know which is more degrading, the 'masters' owning the pets or the pets themselves. It is true, the master gets to be the master because there are people who want to be treated like pets. Well, sad but true, many pets are more well taken care of than some humans. The second case is about a bullied teenager. The writers of CSI said it well, they've shown the dilemma of most families. Parents who are absentees because they need to work, work and work to make ends meet and well school authorities who choose to turn a blind eye on those being bullied. This is so true in our country today and I think we should be more vigilant in making sure that our kids are safe in school and at home.
