  • Did 'Rascal Flats' pay for a guest spot or something?

Painfully out-of-character episode makes the 'panty-sniffer' episode seem subtle by comparison. Despite the occasional bad critical review I write of CSI, I think its a good show- the fact that it has spawned two spinoffs is evidence of its massive appeal- but jeeze, having a music band of 'awkward smiling guys who can't act' as guest stars! Like a previous reviewer pointed out- because they are real people, none of them will be guilty, so there goes half of the mystery. Then as if those cameos weren't enough special guest stars for one night, 'Hey, there's Cameron from Ferris Bueller!" I actually fell asleep about five minutes before the end of this episode... I considered rewinding it to find out whodunnit and then I realized that I did not care.
  • Shockingly bad. I am a huge fan of this show and this episode is the worst one I have ever watched. There was potential for two great stories here, but instead we get one obvious whodoneit and one messy, suspenseless CIA spook "thriller."

The set up of having a real world band in the episode was novel, but they failed the plot by not offering any other viable suspects for the crime, since it is obvious that none of the real world stars are going to be guilty. And the CIA plot was so unpolished that is felt tact on and messy. I wish they would have split this into 2 separate episodes so that each one could have a proper build up of tension, a collection of viable suspects, and enough depth to make the episode interesting.

I gave them 2 points because the scene with the uber fan girl was funny.
  • Oh my god!!!! I loved this episode!!!!

Oh my god!!!! I loved this episode!!! I have never watched this show before this episode!!!! I love Rascal Flatts and it was so amazing to watch them in figure out how, why and who eletrocuted Jay from Rascal Flatts!!!!! I was glued to my PC screen until the show was over and then I couldn't get the episode out of my head. I will most likely watch it over and over again since I can';t get enough of Rascal Flatts and they are soooo hot!!!! I don't think that I will watch any other episode of CSI except this one.
  • The bass player for the band Rascal Flatts is eletrocuted on stage during a performance. Catherine, Stokes and Saunders begin to suspect that the incident was intentional. Elsewhere, Sara and Langston investigate the apparent murder of a CIA agent.

The worst episode of the season and possibly the worst episode of the entire series. It could not have been more obvious who the guilty party was in the eletrocution of the Rascal Flatts bassist. As soon as the band's bass technician smiled when he took the bassist's place, I knew he was responsible. No surprises whatsoever. The second story focusing on the death of the former CIA Director was just as bad. Laurence Fisburne gives a flat and uninspired performance here. His worst since joining the show last season. I certainly hope things get better from here. Terrible episode.
