I will admit that when I first heard that Rory Cochrane was going to be appearing on this episode, I thought I was going to see a rehash of that stupid episode of Dallas where Bobby Ewing rose from the dead. I'm glad to say I was wrong. Having Cochrane back for this episode actually worked well. I liked very much how the "Speedle" part of this episode was explained out. It was very plausible. I also like how the stories of the murder investigation and the Speedle subplot share a common element: a credit card. A very good episode.moreless

    "Bad"
A lot of people seem to be focused on Tim Speedle's "return" and/or Eric's delusion. But what I think about is what happened to Dan Cooper. He's been with the team for over 2 years and to not only see him go but also turn "bad"--when he created the website on Calleigh in the episode Ambush, but that's for another day. What he did was wrong but I don't know if he desercved to be fired. Ryan who nearly compromised an investigation because of his gambling, was fired but would eventually be reinstated. Eric also made a few mistakes himself and so far he has managed to just get his wrists slapped.moreless

  • A glimpse at memory lane and a solid crime investigation, make for an enjoyable episode.

    "Great"
This is definitely one of the better CSI:M episodes to watch. And following on from the first episode, seems to buck the woeful trend of the last season. It features a solid crime story, with a few decent twists and turns. Though the real star of the show is the subplot that sees the return of a deeply missed character from the show's past - CSI Tim Speedle.

Light on its usual Hollywood style theatrics. With not so much of Horatio to steal the limelight, this episode portray's two plots in parallel. The combination provides a mixture of drama. With the investigation providing mystery and intrigue. While Delko's visions take us on a journey of nostalgia and provides something that isn't present in many of CSI:M seasons, real emotional drama.

This episode contains one of Delko's best storylines todate, which carries through some of the more mundane if necessary scenes to wrap up the investigation.

There was one major issue for me. What stopped this being a superb episode, is the ending and what I can only describe as a really cringeworthy way of trimming the oversized cast. Maybe the writers wanted a big knockout ending. If so, for me this wasnt it. SPOILER BELOW

So long Dan Cooper (Brendan Fehr) - we no not know what you did wrong....

Still not on a par with the other CSI franchises. Yet this one comes pretty close to being a superb episode.

If you are going to watch one, there are alot worse than this!moreless

This was the best episode of csi miami i have ever watched. To see Speedle back in the cast was just amaizing. It gave people the chance to find closure. And Speedle was just so cool and cute i liked the guy a lot. Dont understand why they had to kill the character.I hope they can bring him back later on it will be awesome to see him again. And the kids in the car...the heat was too much for them heyyy.. lol!! The guy must have taken some sniper lessons... how on earth could he shoot the guy on the head without some training....moreless

  • I believe this was a great episode in terms of Tim Speedle. They gave him a proper ending to his character.

For a moment there i thought they were gonna make some way to revive Speedle's character and i wouldve been really happy. It was a great way to make up for how they killed his character. A little late but at least, they made him special to his friends, they made his passing mean something more than just moving on to another case.
I think Jonathan Togo (Ryan Wolfe) really sucks being so so cocky while Eva Larue (Natalia Boa Vista) doesnt quite cut it for me, feels like she doesnt even know what she's doing as a CSI.
I always believe the original cast is the best :)) First choice is usually the best choice.
In terms of the storyline though, thought it wasnt that good. How can Delko not check the entire area for clues? How can a burn patient just leave the hospital and where'd he get the gun he used at that little time? How'd he know where the insurance agent was? How can they blame him for their own expenses? We are all responsible for out lives, especially financially. Suicide or murder isn't the answermoreless

    • Eric: Took your advice. I went to go see someone. Horatio: What'd he tell you? Eric: That I'm having transitory hallucinations. Brain's building new pathways, uh, around the fragment that's still there. Chemistry's all shook up. Horatio: And that your condition would be ongoing. Eric: Yeah, as long as the fragment's still in there. He gave me some medication. I'm, I should be okay. Horatio: Eric, come to me next time. Okay? Eric: Yeah, I will. (sighs) It's just, uh, I thought Speedle was back. And now I'm saying goodbye all over again. Horatio: Never gets any easier, does it? Eric: No. You ever seen him, H? Horatio: Every day. Every day. Edit
    • Calleigh (after Eric and she catch Dan using Tim's credit cards): You know what? I would ask you for an explanation but I just don't think I'd get one. Dan: You know I want to be a CSI. And you guys, you speak so highly of the guy. Now, I just thought I'd check out Speedle's locker, see what he was all about and, saw the credit card and it's just, it's not like he'd miss it. Calleigh: Why'd you use it? Dan: There was $200 credit on there. It was free-- But it's free money. Calleigh: You've charged over $2,300. Dan: I, I know. It got, it got out of hand. Calleigh: It's fraud. Dan: No, it, it was a mistake. Calleigh, it was a big mistake. It won't happen again. Calleigh: I know. It's over. Dan: Wait, what are you saying? The, the lab, they gave Ryan another chance. Calleigh: Ryan broke protocol. You have broken the law. Dan: Calleigh, Speedle's dead. I mean, no one got hurt. Calleigh: You don't think Eric got hurt? You don't think I'm hurt? What about the people that Speedle gave his life for? You have until tomorrow morning to turn yourself in. After that, I'm gonna put out a warrant for your arrest. Edit
    • Horatio: You're looking in Speed's locker, Eric. Eric: Out of respect, I haven't touched it since he was shot. Now his wallet's missing. Horatio: What do you think happened? Eric: I don't know, maybe he took it. And there's been some activity on his credit card. Horatio: Eric, when someone that is important to us leaves us, it can be difficult to accept they're gone. Eric: No, this is different. I know this sounds crazy but he pointed me in the direction of that tube. He solved this case. Horatio: You solved the case. You did. Eric. Speed is gone. He's gone. Eric: What if I told you I talked to him? Horatio: I'd say, I'd say that it's time to get some help. Edit
