Goof: While Ryan is going through his old cases in an attempt to get his job back, Stetler comes in and asks him about a very specific deposit for $6,400 he made while he was a patrolman. Stetler adds that Ryan had better have a good explanation for it -- which of course implies that this is a major plot line in this episode. But it's never mentioned again, so we never find out what the $6,400 was for!
Guest star Taylor Handley has now appeared in two CSI series. He appeared in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Season Three episode "Let The Seller Beware" and now "Born To Kill".
The condition of having an extra Y chromosome is called XYY syndrome and it's debated whether it really causes psychological problems. About 0.1% of the population has it (females as well, in their case it's triple X syndrome.
Goof It is stated that the killer uses a serrated knife to kill. However, when Frank is using the computer to find similar murders, in the images of the Boston killings, a clean edged knife is used to kill.
Goof: The first time that Travis Peck is being questioned, Horatio told Detective Tripp to check Travis's knife that he had strapped to his boot underneath his pant leg. Wouldn't he have been searched for weapons when they brought him in and confiscated it already?
Jake: With Lucas Wade in custody, looks like we can finally have that dinner.
Calleigh: (chuckles) Well, those are famous last words. You know every time we try, something happens. Should we just say it's a sign?
Jake: Uhh, I'm just gonna have to work harder to finish earlier.
(A suspect explains that he uses a special tool(tool for cars) to repair his motorcycle)
Frank: Well, that's a miracle since motorcycle's don't use them.
Mrs. Wade: What about my baby?
Calleigh: Don't worry Mrs. Wade, we actually know how to save people.
Calleigh: I have a hard time feeling sorry her since she killed Jennifer Royce... And I think she's probably covering for him.
Eric: He has a little girl, Calleigh.
Calleigh: Yeah, but still she's a murderer.
Eric: Family psychologies run deep, they make you do things you didn't know you were capable of.
Travis: Wonder what it feels like to kill a person?
Horatio: Well, you're in luck.
Frank: A police officer died in that van, makes you guilty of felony murder.
Horatio: So, how does it feel?
Wade: I can't, I have to protect her from Lindsay.
Horatio: And I have to protect her from you.
Calleigh: I spoke to the ER. Jake's gonna be alright.
Eric: Oh, I'm sure he'd love for you to go visit him in the hospital.
Calleigh: (pauses) Yeah, you know what, I came to see you at the hospital too.
Eric: (pauses) Yeah. That was different.
Calleigh: It is different. Because you and I work together.
Eric: You work with Jake too.
Calleigh: He's in homicide. You and I are in the lab day and night. (pauses) You know that I trust you with my life. I don't even know how I feel about Jake yet.
Eric: (pauses) Alright, maybe we should get back to work.
Jake: (panting) Sorry… I didn't see that comin'.
Horatio: Okay. Neither will he, brother, neither will he.
Jake: Oh, you're working my case now.
Frank: I'm working a homicide.
Jake: My homicide.
Horatio: So he used one blade for killing, and one for leaving a message.
