In this episode of CSI Miami, the following happens. We open with a gardener being killed by his own wood chipper, after falling into it. Only for the team to discover that the victim is not the gardener, so who is the victim? We son learn that the gardener turned on the wood chipper and left to go to the bathroom, which is 2 miles away. Soon the team believe that the death is no accident, it is murder. So the body, or at least whats left of it, is taken back to the MEs office, where they try their best to sort out the remaining pieces. Soon they learn that the victim had leukaemia and also had a bone morrow transplant. The team soon track down the victims daughter through DNA and we learn that his name is Ethan. We learn that after he went into remission, his wife died in a car accident only a few weeks later. We soon learn that he was a plastic surgeon. We soon lean that one of his clients, is the wife of the house owner where the murder took place that very morning. Eric goes to question her and when he sees her face, he can see that her face has been ruined by plastic surgery. When going through Ethans surgery before photos, H learns that Ron is in fact alive and not dead as everyone had believed. The team soon learn one of Ethans clients/victim that when he unmasked her final look, he said that she didnt look like her. Soon the team believe that he was trying to make his client look like his dead wife, through plastic surgery.
When the team see a photo of Ethans dead wife, they see that one of his clients looks the image of her. He made his client basically into his dead wife. When she learns that she has been connected to the murder, through bugs in her hair, which are living off of the dead persons hair which is her extensions in her hair, she flips out and pulls them out herself. She soon admits to killing Ethan, after she found pictures of herself and his dead wife. She confronted him, and when he called her by his dead wifes name, she flipped and he fell into the wood chipper. At the end of the episode, we learn that Ron is now a confidential informant for the police department. We also see Julia being attacked and collapsing by the front door.moreless

One of the things that I really appreciated about this episode was that it showed the vulnerability that sometimes stems from plastic surgery. The violent death of a plastic surgeon send the team looking for patients only to find victims, but in a different sense. In this case a wife looking for perfection and a mother just wanting to look her best getting turned into someone she wasn't, her doctor's desceased wife. The reappearance of Saris to be a thorn in Horatio's side left me shaking my head. But his return wasn't overdone and a platform was set to be explored which I'm curious about.moreless

Horatio and the team investigate the case of a person who was thrown into a wood chipper(!). Elsewhere, a man that Horatio would rather forget returns.

As I have said in previous reviews of episodes of "CSI: Miami," this show certainly begins its episodes in the most memorable ways. Whether it's human fireballs or cranes crashing through people's apartments, "CSI: Miami" keeps delivering. I'm glad that for at least one episode the writers took a break between the romance between Calleigh and Delko. That is too much of a distraction and I'm glad that was temporarily pushed by the wayside. This episode has a good script which is the main reason why I am giving it a high rating. I was hooked from start to finish.moreless

The case itself was interesting: Horatio investigates what remains of an unknown man, who was later identified as plastic surgeon, which was pushed into a wood chipper (not a pretty scene). Apparently, the surgeon had been trying to recreate his wife through his patients, and from what I can see, his first try did NOT go well. Also, Saris makes a return, having survived the fire only to be horribly scarred (he was using plastic surgery). Unfortunately, the whole episode came out a little weak. All these returns from the dead are getting old pretty fast, though at least it remained somewhat believable. It's nice to see Kyle showing up more often, too. Maybe with some luck he'll become a regular on the team. Letting up on the Calleigh/Eric romance, even though I would have loved some attention-grabbing scenes, was a good choice; it made it easier to focus on the case.
However, there was one thing about this episode that particularly annoyed me. What happened to the whole "We'll never trust you again" thing with Ryan? Yes, it's heartbreaking to see poor, adorable, little Ryan being used as the team punching bag, but you can't leave such a serious conflict unresolved at the end of one episode and not follow it up. It definitely could have added some more excitement, without necessarily being a distraction.moreless

It turned out to be a good show but the dying and the coming back from the grave its been done too often...once is good but twice is pushing the limits.
Still waiting for Canes past to be brought back up....he's not who everyone thinks he is wonder how all that is going to unfold...Kyle seems to be adjusting well and I can't wait til the nexdt episode to see how he and Cane react to the attack on his mom. Eric and Ducane they make a good couple, but I don't think it will last...and the whole Mob thing them being followed...these next few shows should be great...again can't wait.moreless
