i kind of liked this ep but its probably not one id watch again unless i really just need a csi ep or am bored in most of my cases..i like how they always (well most of the time) have a link btw the two cases where one case leads to another one..thats always interesting to see b/c either theyre conspirators or is just played out that way..i did like this..there were so many different suspects they questioned and each had its own little twist..it was really hard for me to tell who the killer was..the best part of the ep was natalia's secret b/c i really feel for hermoreless
  • A car crash victim is found dead, with the dead body of a man in the trunk of her car. It turns out that the team are dealing with 2 separate crimes - a man murdering his blackmailer on the one hand, and spousal abuse/murder on the other.moreless

    8.0
Lots of different storylines going on here which make it a little confusing at times but the writers did well here.

A little more concentration on the forensic evidence than of late, which is a good thing, and also the revelation by Horatio to the victims son, of what his own father did to his mother - I'm glad we're getting more and more of an insight into H's personality but I hope that at some point in the future, we can have an episode where he finds some closure and can begin to loosen up a little - I guess that won't happen anytime soon, but I get the impression that we are slowly building up to it...it'd be good to see more of Tripp in some of the episodes too - I like his dry comments.moreless

  • Too many plot points spoil the soup.

    5.0
The first scene of this episode was really intriguing- Woman run off the road with a body in her trunk.

Then the story went from one resolution to another crazily- closet homosexual put the body in her trunk, she stole a diamond necklace, her exhusband found her in the crashed car and killed her, a russian car wreck scavenger stole the necklace...

What is the likelihood that all of those events could happen to one person. And how could any police force solve such a multifaceted mystery in the course of a single day?

It is good, however, that one of the investigator\'s personal life helped them to solve the mystery (Natalie Boa Vista). But I still wish the dialogue weren\'t so mechanical.

Little Boy to Horatio: \"You must know exactly how I feel.\"

    It\'s called \'show; don\'t tell\' people.moreless
  • It's only an hour show so the suspect confesses to everything so the story can continue in order for the plot can get interesting.

    7.0
No arm twisting, no deals, no lawyers needed. The first suspect confesses to a double murder. He confesses to choking to death the blackmailer and ramming his car to kill the witness. Then he confesses to dumping the body in the witness' trunk. All this happens within the first 15 mins of the show. The writer had to make more air time for the more interesting parts of the story where there are plot twists and turns. But there was no surprise when the abusive dad admits to the crime. And again, no arm twisting, no deals, no lawyers needed for the confession. The cops have it easy in Miami.

Delco is becoming a jerk and is H still dating his sister? Calleigh needs a story. She's been like an extra lately.moreless

    • Benchley: Legally, I'm still that boy's father.
Horatio: That is true. But being someone's father is not a right, it's a gift.

    • (Calleigh enters the lab where Ryan is checking on possible weapons that could have made the head wounds)
Calleigh: I'm stepping out for a bite. Would you like something?
      Ryan: No no, I'm cool.
(Ryan asks for Calleigh's opinion and Calleigh suggests that it was a gun, maybe pawned with the necklace)
Calleigh: Looks like lunch is a drive-thru.

    • (Ryan enters the lab where Calleigh is looking at the diamond)
Ryan: Check out the carat weight?
Calleigh: Carat weight is its value in the real world, my friend. I'm checking its value to us.
      Ryan: Which is?
      Calleigh: The girdle.
      Ryan: ...Excuse me?
Calleigh: On a diamond, the girdle is the rim that's formed at the top of the stone and that's where they place the DIA number.
Ryan: Right, Diamond Index of America.

    • Benchley: I was the only man for her.
Horatio: But she disagreed with you.
      Benchley: She just needed convincing.
Horatio: So in order to convince her you killed her.

    • Benchley: You won't believe me, but I didn't come to town to kill her.
      Horatio: You're right, I don't believe you.

    • Calleigh: Pawn shop guy said he wiped it down before he planned to move it. You know, no one wants to buy a dirty gun.
Delko: Well, there's pawn shop clean and then there's CSI clean.

    • Benchley: I followed her to try to get some dirt, regain custody. You know, she's the crazy one.
Horatio: Yes, and now she's the dead one Howard, so mission accomplished for you.

    • Benchley: Look, there was nothing I could do.
Calleigh: Really? Cause you could have killed her and stolen a four million dollar necklace.

    • Calleigh: We find the clues, we find the car, we find a witness!
Delko: That's right. Or a murder suspect.

    • Wolfe: I think she was up to no good.
Alexx: If she was Ryan... let her tell us.

    • Rita Davis: Can I go now?
Horatio: Let me see, how can I put this... no.

    • Alexx: Baby boy has red dye on both his hands.
      Delko: Any theories?
      Alexx: Working on it.
Delko: Let me guess - you'll know more at the post.
      Alexx: (smiling) Always do.

    • (Frank kicks open the trunk to reveal a dead man)
Frank: Interesting use of cargo space.
Horatio: That would explain why our driver was moving so fast.
Frank: One thing's for sure, she was hauling ass.
Horatio: Yes Frank, a dead body can have that effect on you.

    • Frank: We found male DNA on Luis, south of the border. We think it might be yours.

    • Howard Benchley: Do I look like a guy who just came into a fortune?
Calleigh: I don't know Mr. Benchley but you don't look innocent.

    • Frank: What are you a road kill pirate?
