During a routine traffic stop, a police officer is murdered and now Horatio and the team must track down the killer. The only witness to the murder is a civilian who was doing a ride-along with the officer, but who is now missing. Roadside evidence leads the CSIs to Missy Marshall, a teenage girl who was with the killer at the time of the murder. However, as the team searches for the civilian and the killer, they find that Missy may have been more involved with killer and the shooting than she is admitting. • Stockholm Syndrome Det. Tripp: Maybe the kid bonded with his captor, you thinking Stockholm? Stockholm Syndrome is a psychological response, that sometimes occurs with hostages, where they develop feelings for their captors, ultimately sometimes ending in defending their captors or even joining them. The terms was first used after a 6 day hostage crisis, at the Kreditbanken, in Norrmalmstrog, Sotckholm, Sweden. The term was instated by the criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, who helped local authorities during that investigation. A similar syndrome is the Lima Syndrome, so called after MRTA Terrorists stormed the Japanese embassy in Lima, Peru and took everyone hostage. This syndrome however displays an attachment from the captor to the captives.

    • Horatio and Rebecca break up at the end of the episode because of a decision that she made.

    • Carla Marshall: That man took advantage of my daughter. He should pay for that. Calleigh: She pulled the trigger, not him. Carla Marshall: He ruined her life! This is his fault! Calleigh: With all due respect, ma'am, that's just PR. Carla Marshall: Yeah. Well, the world runs on it. So do trials.

    • Ryan: Kill a cop in cold blood, steal his gun, that takes some stones.

    • (Calleigh finds the model of a get-away car) Horatio: Mitsubishi, with stolen tags. Calleigh: I'm going to put out a broadcast, armed and dangerous. Horatio: Yes, and low profile please. Calleigh: How low? Horatio: Ground level. Calleigh: Spike strips!

    • (Calleigh and Ryan hold a suspect schoolgirl for questioning) Ryan: So what are we going to do with high school girl? Calleigh: Give her detention.

    • (Horatio and Ryan apprehend a cop killer) Ryan: I think one dead cop is enough anyway. Jojo: The day's still young, anything's possible.
