  • Worst episode of CSI: Miami ever!!

    1.0
The first episode in season 6. In the opening, we see Valera tells Horatio "He's your son". If you thought this will be a great episode, exciting, and briliant, you're wrong. This is the worst episode of CSI: Miami I've ever watch in this series. I haven't watch the fifth season finale yet (Born to Kill), but I think this episode might be worse than that, although "Born to Kill" is the lowest rated episode in TV.com (5.2). Disappointing episode. I thought the writer will have changes after what happened to "Born to Kill", apparently they haven't. The show is getting worse. If the writers did nothing to the show, this will be the WORST SHOW in the history.moreless
  • Horatio becomes a father and Calleigh get closer to Jake.

    10
I love that Horatio gets a son in this episode. He is such a compassionate and loving character who never seems to get any from others. It good that he finally has someone to spend his time with. I mean, everyone deserves a family. Exceptionally Horatio.

Kyle seems like a good kid. He is a bit hard, but you can't blame him after being alone since age six. It will be good for him to be with Horatio. Kyle is just like Horatio. (Did you see him put his hands on his hips? lol Like father, like son.)

I like how Calleigh's relationship with Jake is shown a little in this episode. They are so cute together. One of the best episodes in the series. I love Kyle Caine!!!!moreless
  • Probation officer killed, 200++ suspects. Which one killed him? Calleigh and Jake have to browse through a list of names and choose which one might be the killer. Smuggling drugs in prison.. leads to further incidentsmoreless

An amazing new episode! H unexpectedly got a son!! And he is a suspect. But the son is cute as well anyway. I'm a bit of jealous though... coz H type of dad will be a great dad, and he gonna protect his son with all he got. July 6 1991... only 16 years old... "john walton" old name...

But well... H's boy is not as bad as what i thought earlier.

Jake and Calleigh both has the same tan... NO... I want calleigh to be with Eric... But not everyone could be probation officer, putting their life on the line to be in charge of these type of kids.

Well, some people are just cannot change... It's what they do and they gonna be keep on doing the same bad thing over and over again. Sigh...moreless
  • An overall decent start to the new season.

    8.1
This is definitely a better start to the new season. This had some really good character development throughout. Let's start with the obvious surprise. Horatio has a son! This is really going to play a lot as the season goes on. Also, seeing Yelina again was refreshing. Frank acheiving sargeant staus was good and it was a good idea to have him in uniform. Finally, Ryan's struggle to get reinstated and Eric's jealousy towards Calleigh's new beau was another twist that pumped a little life into the show. Negatives?? Yes, I had a few and these keep it from really being a top-notched episode. First, how in the world did Horatio's son stayed with that guy as a foster child? He lived in the Everglades with alligators all around! Plus, all he cared about was getting a paycheck from foster care. Most agencies wouldn't allow a kid to stay there with the conditions that were shown. Secondly, the plot at times was a little confusing to me. Maybe, someone can shed some light on it! Finally, I feel that Natalia is still the weak link on the show. I liked her better in the lab than in the field. So all in all, a decent start to the new season.moreless
  • Horatio feels a connection to a suspect & Calleigh returns with a tan...

    9.0
I think this is a really solid season opener. After a vacation we learn Calleigh was catching rays with Jake, and Delko doesn't seem too happy about that.

It's also good to see Frank doing something different, and performing required duties for his promotion. This is the perfect sort of character growth to spice up season 6.

It's always nice to see Yelina Salas again, this time digging into some records to reveal information on a Juvie kid who ends up being Horatio's son. This was a really good episode, but it would have been even better if they had removed the flash forward from the teaser that reveals Horatio has a son. That completely deflated the tension and suspense. That was a big reveal, and it just fizzled away because we weren't allowed to build to the reveal.

Especially with the supposed resolution when another man's name is listed as father on the birth certificate, had we still been unsure if Horatio was the father it might have been a great twist.

Still, I really enjoyed the episode. I might just skip over that brief scene at the beginning next time though.moreless

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • This is the fourth episode where something dramatic happened, then went back "8 hours earlier" to bring the viewers up to speed. The other three episodes were from earlier seasons: when it looked like Calleigh was shot and was lying there bleeding (Season 3, Episode 21, Recoil), when Ryan got shot in the eye with a nail gun (Season 4, episode 8, Nailed), and when Natalia got arrested for the murder of her ex-husband (Season 5, episode 12, Internal Affairs).

    • Goof: A key piece of evidence is the fingerprint of a spent bullet casing. However, since the bullet had already been fired, the print should have been burned off by the heat.

    • John Walden is Horatio's cover name in the Special Task Force 16 years ago.

    • Frank Tripp passed his Sergeant's exam.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Yelena: Are you sure the boy's your son?
      Horatio: I am.
Yelena: And what about the name on the birth certificate?
Horatio: John Walden is a cover name I used 16 years ago. I did some special task force work in Pensacola. That's when I met Julia.
Yelena: And this Julia put it on a birth certificate because that's the only name she knew you by.
Horatio: That's exactly right. She disappeared a few months after we met.
      Yelena: Was it serious?
      Horatio: It was for me.
Yelena: And you never knew she was pregnant.
      Horatio: Not until today.
Yelena: You'd make a great father, Horatio.

    • Rick Bates: I get what I want without getting my hands dirty.
Calleigh: You know what? Murder, drugs, blackmail. I would say your hands were filthy.

    • Jake (to Calleigh): Morning, Officer pretty...

    • Jake: What happened? They knock you back to uniform?
Frank (points to his arm): These are stripes, Sparky, all right? Now you're as dumb as you look. Just passed the Sergeant's exam.

    • Natalia: One hit...
Ryan (looking at Natalia's shooting target): And fourteen misses.
Natalia: Don't tell anyone how bad I am.
Ryan: Don't tell anybody I work here.
      Natalia: Deal.
      Ryan: Deal.

    • Calleigh: Hey, Eric.
      Eric: Nice tan.
Calleigh (smiles): Five days in Antigua. It's the first vacation I've had in a long time.
Eric: Yeah? I saw Jake outside. Got the same tan.

    • Jake: His file says he has, like, 2,000 cases.
Horatio: 2,000 cases, and now 2,000 suspects.
