Josh Dalton, a hot, young reporter for the Miami Sun, witnesses the murder of his friend, a city councilman's aide, in Miami's drug district, the Golden Triangle. Josh, who was suspiciously unharmed in the attack, claims that they were only down there on a story, but Horatio believes that there's more to the situation. Later, another writer from the same paper is found shot to death inside the trunk of her car, which was reported stolen. Now, as the evidence rejects Josh's version of what happened, the CSIs find themselves entangled in the world of fast-paced journalism and learn that there is a dangerously fine line between the truth and what sells newspapers.moreless
A newspaper reporter witnesses the murder of his friend in Miami's drug district. The door was closed when the shooter shot. Mike was a district counselman. H believes he staged this. The reporter was behind him when the shots were fired. The city counselman bought Oxy for his addiction. Mike was going to keep him outta the papers if he brung the reporter to the "golden triangle". Another reporter was there taking notes for the other reporter. The bags were used as a glove to shoot the gun. Bobby's fingerprints were on the inside of the bag. H called Amy and it sounded as if she were dying. Amy died in the trunk of her car. The people used her things to make a bomb. The newpaper reporter killed Amy.moreless
This episode was a little boring, not as good as the previous one.
I really couldn't stand Horatio this time, I think he was really overdoing it with his posing (hands on hips) & "sunglases of justice" act he's got going on.
The case in this episode was pretty interesting, I liked how they knew who their man was but needed to find enough evidence to convict him. It was pretty obvious that the reporter was the one who murdered his collegue when he called her cell phone while H was there. That look on his face gave him away. The first case wasx solved pretty quickly & I couldn't help laughing at the guy who did the shooting.moreless
Goof: At the beginning of the episode, when Horatio and Alexx examine the body of the councilman's aide, Josh Dalton is standing at the door of the apartment, Horatio approaches him from Josh's front. Later when Horatio flashbacks to that moment, the scene shows Horatio approaching Josh from behind.
Edit
Eric: I don't know, maybe he tossed the gun.
Calleigh: No, I'm positive it's here.
Eric: Why?
Calleigh: Because Josh swears that it isn't.
Edit
Horatio: Speed.
Speed: These mints were curiously strong, they have the same chemical makeup as the residues from the baggies at the scene... opioid analgesic.
Horatio: Painkillers? What about a brand.
Speed: Oxycodin, it's Hill Billy heroin.
Edit
Horatio: Revelations on Mike Griffith Alexx.
Alexx: Yeah, the human body wasn't made to withstand bullets.
Edit
Speed: Oxycodin, it's Hillbilly heroin.
Hillbilly is a term referring to people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas of the United States. The term is commonly used in non-Appalachian areas as a reference in describing socially backward people. It is sometimes used interchangeably for terms like hick.

Various: "Ghost ships." Jack Kelley, senior foreign correspondent for USA Today wrote a fake story about six refugees fleeing Cuba for the United States. The ship was supposedly sunk with no survivors. One supposed immigrant was verified by USA Today as being alive and well and a legal immigrant.
