  • Enjoyed the fact that it didn't follow current pattern in television.

    7.0
I almost switched to another channel when this episode first began I thought it was going to be yet another liberal-up-on-a-soapbox preaching about the death penalty. I'm glad I didn't as it was somewhat refreshing to see a show acknowledge that some people ARE just too evil and unworthy of life. I'm not liberal and not conservate, I can think for myself on every single issue thank you, I don't need silly tv shows telling me how I should think or feel about anything, it's ridiculous. Therefore I applaud this episode.

That said, the way Delko keeps coming back every so often and making everyone else look like a bunch of stupid chumps...well he's worn out his welcome with me. Either stay or go dude, get a life!

And death by prius? I laughed for 5 minutes. How HUMILIATING!!moreless
  • Great episode, loved Natalia even though she wasn't there an awfull lot love Horatio, and I what I loved the most was the fantastic Calliegh Eric Scene!

OK for those of yyou who havent seen this ep stop reading now!

You know how ususaly we see the crime? Today is much different we see the characters doing normal personal stuff, and a twist is you see Calleigh walking down the call into a bedroom in nothing but what appears to be a man's shirt, with a bottle of bear, she goes into the room and stradles this seemingly unknown partner, and she and he are kissing! And it was Eric! I've got to say, the B.E.S.T. Hiphuggerz scene EVER! Great kissing great,(... position) sparks and great line when the phone rings,

"If you answer that I'll kill you," with that southern drawl! And at the end so great Kyle is in the army! So great but a lil office tension would have made it better!moreless
  • Awesome episode! One of the best I've seen!

I think Mr. Bradstone did a great job pretending to be innocent, for a while I actually believed he was. I loved the end when his son told Bradstone that he deserved what he got. I also think that because Bradstone was the killer and not innocent, it sort of made this episode defferent from some of the classical ones when the man in jail is actually innocent. I loved the beginning and end with Calleigh and Eric, finally we get to see some real love between them! I've been waiting for something like that.

The best part of this episode was the end with Kyle and Horatio. Kyle is in the army I think that's good for him, to sort of sort himself out and do a little soul searching. And it seems like he and Horatio have grown close and that is just great!moreless
  • Sometimes you need to be reminded why you spend an hour of your week watching a show, for CSI Miami, this episode was it.

    6.0
In a perfect blend of character development and an interesting case, CSI's oldest spin-off offered up an episode that actually kept your attention for the full hour. The case resolves around an inmate on death row who may or may not have killed his wife and his five-year old daughter and stabbed his seven-year old son, almost fifteen years ago.

We go back to a time where investigators can mess with witness' statements and get away with it or where DNA is an unheard of last resort. An old lady claims to have seen the man kill his wife. The son, who survived, did not. And when light is shed on the case, the evidence seems shaky. Time for the Miami team to get it right.

Not only is the case interesting because from the beginning of the episode you doubt the inmate's guilt, but also because other factors are unreliable. Is the old woman telling the truth or doesn't she know what she saw? Why did the son hear train tracks? Why did the man try to escape from his own house?

It's the kind of mystery that's not often shown on the show, which is regretable. It's one of the rare cases where, as a viewer, you can actively think along with the team on what the possibilities are for the classic 'who done it?' scenario. No doubt that Horatio will solve it eventually, but you can't help to think that you might just figure it out before he does. And in this case, it's actually a possibility that you do, in contrast to other episodes where the solution is something no one could've thought of.

Luckily, the episode doesn't stick with just a great mystery, the characters themselves get, if only for a second, a time to shine too. We see Delko as well as Calleigh outside the office, we find out how things went with Natalia's hearing problems and best of all, we finally see how it goes with Horatio's son who went off to war.

Credit where credit's due, 'In The Wind' is easily CSI Miami's best episode of the season, bordering the kind of intrigue and development CSI pulls off on a weekly base, but sadly, a great quality episode on this show, is still nothing compared to other material on TV.moreless

    • James: So, you found my wife's boyfriend. He's got to be a suspect. And you lost your eyewitness. You're making this case better for me than any defense attorney could. Matter of fact, you're making it real hard for the governor not to just let me out of here. Thanks.
Horatio: James, I'm not finished yet.

    • Calleigh: About last night... I know that we keep saying that it's not gonna happen anymore.
Eric: (smiles) Yeah? But it keeps happening. That a bad thing?
Calleigh: I don't know that we should talk about it here.
Eric: So what, your place or mine?
