  • Getting better

Improvement over first episode. The dialog and writing were better and the team more relaxed with each other. Only Delaney seems out of place here.

well well well, firs of all, I want to say that this one was my favorite episode at least during the first six seasons, I really loved this second episode, I don´t know why it is not in the TOP TEN EPISODES, it had everything you want to find in a top episode.

The scene where horatio and the bomb team try to rescue the second victim was simply the best, my heart almost exploded there jajajaja, but seriously, this chapter is one of the best chapters from the entire show, I only could find two episodes better than this one and they are from season eight.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • It's fine that the American wife of the victim didn't know about the other, but how could possibly Lauriana (the one from Colombia) be without the slightest hint? Whoever brought her the news of the gruesome death of her husband (a death that was prominently featured on tv, too) had to tell her at least WHERE he died, if not all the circumstances. It is not reasonable that her husband dying "at home" in a house she didn't even know of couldn't lead her to be at least a bit suspicious!

  • QUOTES (10)

    • Megan: (to Horatio) Grief is grief; work is work. Don't confuse the two.

    • Megan: You okay?
      Horatio:Yeah, I'm fine.
(puts the ring into the envelope)
Megan: Horatio, What are you doing?
Horatio:I'm giving Al's wife his wedding ring back.
      Megan: That's evidence.
      Horatio: I know that.
Megan: You can't just give it away.
Horatio: I'm not giving it away. I'm giving it back

    • Calliegh: French lace from the window at the Moreno house. It's also used on high-end toupees. It gives a more natural look to the hairline.
      Speed: Lace on a rug.
      Calliegh: Uh-huh.
Speed: Well, shoot me if it comes to that.

    • Calliegh: Moreno's wife said he liked to stay up late and watch TV. My guess is he got jumped right in the middle of Letterman.
Speed: Top ten ways to get your head blown off.

    • Horatio: I didn't know they made body armor in triple extra-large.

    • (Horatio is still upset about his bomb squad mentor's death)
Horatio: We are still missing a component: the Action Switch isn't here.
Speed: We covered that scene on our hands and knees, we covered it all.
(Horatio's tone changes as he gives Speed a serious stare)
Horatio: Let me say it again: it's not here!

    • (Horatio's bomb squad mentor has just been blown up by a bomb)
Horatio: There are no other crime scenes in Miami today.

    • Horatio: The victims were decoys, he's after the Bomb Squad.

    • Calleigh: That smells good.
Eric: A little Café Cubano? (Grins) Puts some hair on your chest.
Calleigh: Don't you just say the sweetest things.
Speed: That stuff's not good for you, it'll rot your stomach out.

    • Megan: You miss it, don't you? Being in the front lines.
Horatio: The simple answer is no.
Megan: I saw you out there. Why leave something you're good at?
Horatio: You ever bet on a horse race?
Megan: Life is enough of a gamble.
Horatio: Some horses, run better in a harness --and the science is my discipline.
