Eric is rushed to the hospital as horatio watches the doctors try to revive him. thank god that he is still alive and i love the eric calligh scene. it was touching. its too bad that eric couldn't remember that his sister died though. it was sad when he found out. when i saw that the security grard shot him i thought that he was not protecting the city of Miami, i thought that he was a trador to the whole state.having kids work a diamod shop is wierd because usually kids just sit there and watch adults stuff, and not get involved.

This episode is the second of a 2 parter about Clavo Cruz. The story basically continues and the episode is about them trying to hunt him down.

The whole episode ending seems to revolve around Clavo being killed and they seem to neglect everything else like what happened to the other guns and who actually broke him out etc... The story itself isn't a great one and has loads of loose ends.

The other main thing is Eric, in this episode we realise how little we actually know about the main characters. The only thing the writers can think for him to say when he wakes up is Marisol. This shows that there isn't actually a whole lot we know about the main characters. It does leave his story wide open but I'm not sure what they're going to do with it. Either he makes a full recovery or this whole thing was done to phase him out of the show. Either way it now seems like a burden to the show.

The episode is fine but problems are there such that the team didn't actually find Cruz at all. They wee always one step behind and the only reason they got him was because he turned himself in.
  • Eric is rushed to the hospital, where he needs to fight for his life. In the meanwhile, the CSI team starts a round-up on Clavo Cruz and Eric's killer.

Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy! He's shot! In the head! He's never gonna be the same! EVER! This is so sad, really. This was a brilliant episode. Okay it was predictable that Horatio shot Clavo Cruz, but he needed to finish it. And that was it. Eric losing his memory, God it's so painful! Surprisingly, Horatio's first visit wasn't the most emotional, it was Calleigh's. She looked like she was going to burst into tears the whole episode! I felt so sorry for her; I mean, it's Eric! And after losing Speed... When she layed that cross in his hands, I was just... oooh :) I was touched. Ryan didn't know what to say, he just wanted to catch the guy who shot his colleague. It's like he couldn't really handle it since he attacked the suspect. Calleigh's approach is different and probably better physically. She's cold, she's plays the ice queen card and it's strange seeing that in Calleigh, you know, with the whole southern warmth and charm which she does possess. It's weird but it's like when she's hurt or she doesn't trust a person, she's ice cold. I think it looks more professional, but mentally and emotionally, it's not very good. She always pulls up those walls and she hides behind them. She may look like an open person, but she never let's anyone in. And Eric,.. well she didn't really open up to him often, but she knew he was that kind of person she could count on. Not like Horatio, he's more the father. Eric was so funny, sweet and... Cuban! It seems weird to her (even though she has seen a lot of deaths) that he of all people in the world, gets hurt. That's what this is about; good people also die. Very good episode. You need to see this, it's very exciting + great emotion-investigation balance. You could tell this was a special episode, they played more (sensitive) music. Feel free to cry at the end when Eric asks Horatio where Marisol is and he realizes that she was murdered.
  • What's going on Eric? Are you still with us?

I have to say I was more interested in Eric situation and how afected the team than the crime plot this week. I also was really touched with the Eric - Cal scene at the hospital and when she put the crucifixe on his hands. I was all tears.

I’m sorry that Delko can’t remember his sister is dead, but perhaps someone could kindly point out that her spitting image is working as an ADA up in Manhattan. It might help ease the pain. It’s too early to know how this is going to play out over the rest of the season, or even the rest of the series. And in the near future, I may be talking about what a brilliant move this was on behalf of the writers, but forgive me for feeling a little ripped off at the moment. And just as an aside, how is it not a conflict of interest for the entire team to work on Eric’s case? Of course, I do get to mourn one character: Clavo. I will miss him and his back-and-forth with Horatio. Some great lines of his:

    • “You know what, my friend? You are a serious player. You could learn something from this man, pop. He never gives up, and I love that about you, Caine.”

    • “Lieutenant Caine — now my parade has officially been rained on.”

    • “Yet another startling revelation on the obvious.”

Who can blame him for having a major beef with Horatio? H made one of Clavo’s fathers disown him, and then he made the other one disown him.

Where the whole blood diamond plot came in, I’m still not sure, but I renew my objection to CSI: Miami’s strange obsession with being an issues-centered show as of late. This was almost two episodes in one, and for me, the Clavo half worked much better, mostly because it didn’t take itself too seriously. Plus, the more serious stuff tends to invite me to explore plot holes — something I’d really rather not do.
  • Horatio has Eric rushed to the hospital and watches as the doctors try to revive him. The rest of the CSI team finds evidence that may lead them to Cruz.

I enjoyed this episode because it was about the characters in some ways. The look in Horatio's eyes when they were working on Eric was so heart breaking. You could see how much he cared about Eric and how much he still misses Marisol. I also have liked watching Horatio with Clavo Cruz they make such good enemies. My favorite part of the episode is at the end where Horatio is with Eric and Eric asks why his sister Marisol isn't there, the look on Horatio's face says how much he is in pain over losing Marisol and when Eric shed a tear was breaking my heart. I just wish that they would do an episode when Horatio would talk more about losing Marisol.

i thougt that this was the best episode of csi but at the same time i was very upset because i thought that eric was going when he just lost his sister not to long so i was yelling at my tv for him not to die but i am so glad that he puuled through and hey should of let ryan hit that stupid security gaurd for shooting him all so he can pay for his dumb car he belongs in jail but yes that episod3e was the best and like always haratio continues to amaze me
  • Sometimes I just don't know why I watch this show, episodes like this just make me groan and yell at my TV.

I will admit I'm glad I didn't turn off the episode when the doctor used the syringe in a stabbing motion to inject intracardiac epinephrine (not an accepted treatment for anything that was going on with Delco). Then that he just jumps up and looks like he is going to get out of the bed and dance around. I was unimpressed with the re-emergence of Clavo (he's just not the arch nemisis that they are trying to make him). I guess the writers felt the same way by adding the suicide by cop to end his story line. The redeeming quality of the Delco storyline is the attempt to deal with traumatic brain injury and how not everyone who has an attempted resuscitation lives (very few do) and those that do frequently are horribly brain damaged. Of course, he appears to be fully recovering but who is really surprised by that. The goofy editing sequences continue this year with the multiple frames while the science is being done in the lab. I could do without those distracting sequences.
  • Does Eric die?

Great conclusion - both parts kept me on the edge of my seat. The interaction between H and Clavo has always been a thrilling exchange. Hats of the the writers this was one of the best this season. It was so hard to see Eric laying in the hospital bed knocking on death's door. I can't believe Eric lost his memory though. It will be interesting to see how the writers play that out over the rest of the season. I hope it isn't one of these 1 or 2 episode things and then he is back to normal. Will be interesting to watch.

I'm really sad that Delko has memory loss and all the other stuff that he has...but at least he's not dead!! It mad me really sad when he asked Horatio about his sister and why she wasn't there. Can you imagine how hard that would be?? It would be horrible to be told or to have to tell someone their sister had died twice. I Can't even think about it!! He was told he would get the money to pay his car off so he shot a CSI...that's horrible I can't even imagine it. Why would you ever do that. Some people have sick minds!!
  • This was a great second half. I am glad Eric survived

It was so hard to see Eric laying in the hospital bed knocking on death's door. This was a great show of all of the team pulling together and trying to get justice for their friend. I am glad that Horatio caught Clavo Cruz but I was a little disappointed in how his death came about.

It was good to see Calleigh and Ryan trying to find Eric's shooter and I loved the fact that Ryan is showing how passionate he is when one of his friends has been hurt.

It was so sad to hear Eric calling out for Marisol and makes you wonder if maybe he seen her in the light when he could not be revived or was it just where the bullet hit and possibly messed up his memories? I am anxious to see where they go with this story. In the end Horatio and his team got justice for their friend.
  • I can't believe it.

This episode was really awesome. I couldn't believe it when Delko was shot. I got so sad. I just wanted to throw my pillow at the television. It was terrible. I totally thought that he was going to die. I mean not just in this episode, but throughout the entire series.
  • Well, not as exciting as I would have hoped. Still getting tired of the non stop flash scenes and diminishing amounts of real dialog and acting.

    7.0
    "Good"
I sort of knew that the writers would not have Delko die immediately at the start of the episode. Any other show that has 2 parters with gravely injured cast members usually dedicate an entire show to 'will he die or live?'

I just wasn't as thrilled as I thought I would be by the end of the show. I used to love this spin off of CSI more than most of the people I know who watched it. But now there are so many fast cutting / flashing scenes bouncing from here to there, in the lab, out of the lab, with dual frames in the screen and tons of fast music. It's enough to give an epileptic a seizure. There just isn't enough acting or meaningful dialog anymore.

I saw a preview for next week's episode and it looked like Delko was back at work (probably a desk job) after being shot in the HEAD???? What the heck? I'm surprised he 'recovered' from that first of all, let alone be able to go back to work. We'll see next week. If the episode sucks I may stop watching this show all together after this season.
  • A cat-and-mouse game between clavo Cruz and Horatio ends up in a bank shootout where Eric is gravely injured. This week, his life hangs in the balance. Calleigh and Ryan try to find Eric's shooter while Horatio vows t o bring Clavo back to justice.

    "Good"
For a series that was once original and riviting, CSI:Miami is slowly running out of steam. The shooting of a CSI is nothing new or totally shocking. Calleigh and Ryan are sent to find Eric's shooter who turns out to be a security guard. Horatio, Frank, and Natalia, go to the home of Lt. Cruz where Clavo is waiting. Both men draw guns and the old man is shot. H and Natalia find Clavo's secret escape route and an uncut diamond. The diamond leads them to a jeweler who runs a sweatshop of child diamond cutters. Frank seemed to carry a lackluster attitude in this episode and seemed to care little that Eric was shot. The cat-and-mouse ending left little to be desired. I was expecting a car chase or two but not Clavo just casually showing up at the station wanting to turn himself in. I will say that the best scene was when Calleigh put her cross in Eric's hand. Of all the CSI's, she showed the most compassion, next to Alex. Calleigh can be so kick ass one minute and a sweet southern gal the next. I just love her.

For once, the overly creative editing was kept to a mimimum, which made the show somewhat bearable to watch.

Some people are saying "Nothing happend in this eposide" and they are not intirly true! they need to watch this eposide again and really pay attention this time!!! Eric dies.......Who knows watch the eposide and find out if he dose or doesn't!!!

I do not know why on earth this episode has received all these bad reviews. It is not as brilliant as No Man's Land, but it is a fitting continuation of it. The second part of an action-adventure story- especially where one of the main characters is on 'death's door' is always slower, dealing with the fall-out, the emotions. And this part was masterfully done. The cast was very very good in this - Jonathan Togo, Emily Procter and especially...David Caruso. Only downside of the episode was how Clavo was taken out - this was very odd. I mean, he lost a lot, but going to his archrival and beg him to shoot him???? I don't know. But apart from that - this was a very good two-parter. Definitely best storyline in season 5 (or 4 for that matter).

    Loved It!
  • Basically, Eric having been shot is rushed to hospital. The rest of the episode is spent with Ryan and Calleigh trying to track the shooter and Horatio and Natalia trying to track Clavo Cruz. It ended with Horatio shooting Clavo in the heart.

    8.8
    "Great"
What I did not like about this episode are not the scenes with Eric which were very well acted and emotional but the writing behind them. How is it that Eric can be pronounced dead and be given a time of death and then suddenly the doctors are trying to resuscitate him again? This was a major writing flaw in my opinion. Then there was the adrenaline which the doctor stabbed Eric in the heart with. That was over-dramatized and as soon as she injected Eric with it he sat up and let out a mighty gasp and at that point I packed out laughing as this seemed so unrealistic. I dont think people who have flatlined actually do that when they are resuscitated. Well that dispenses with the bad points - now onto the good. As I said the scenes with Eric were very well acted and I was sobbing like mad when he kept asking for Marisol, not remembering that she had died previously. The anger portrayed by the other team members was amazing. It was obvious that they were in tremendous pain and eager to arrest the man who shot Eric. If I had been the killer, I would have left Miami within seconds.

I know some people think CSI: Miami has gone to far with this episode, but I am really hoping it continues and I am hoping that Eric eventually becomes his old self again.
  • The face-off between Horatio and Clavo was anti-climatic.

I was expecting and frankly hoping for a BIG BANG showdown between Horatio and Clavo. I was extremely happy that Eric wasn't killed off, as it was popular opinion that he would be. But I truly expected Clavo to go down in a blaze of glory. Oh well, I'll trade the big showdown for Adam Rodriquez staying on the show anyday.
  • CSI: Maimi Needs Reality Check...

Ok Delko didn't die, but pretty close to it. I think the only storyline that even came close to be plausible was Natalia and Ryan finding a sweat shop in the Diamond store. The writers are really stretching the imagiation. But the ONE thing they did right is not blowing anything up in the whole episode. Which I think is a first. H shooting and killing Clavo in one shot, especially when it seemed to be in the upper chest area, please. I continue to watch the show because I really love Calleigh. The disappointing thing about this episode and her character, was that she is the more experienced CSI but it seemed Ryan was leading the way.
  • This episode contained unrealistic storylines and a disappointing shoot-out climax. Series continues to decline. It has become all flash with pretty faces, bright colors, and beautiful scenery, but no plot substance.

    5.0
    "Mediocre"
This episode begins with Eric being taken to the hospital, where he is officially declared dead by the doctor and the time of death is given. So after that has happened, why, after the opening show credits, do they go back to the hospital where the doctor continues to try and keep Eric alive by using the adrenaline needle to the heart procedure to revived him? Why would they decide to do this after he was already declared dead? Clavo sweet-talks a court stenographer to help him escape. How would a dangerous killer even get close enough to say "Hello" to the stenographer, let alone have enough time to devise an elaborate escape plan and convince her that they would run away together to live in luxury without anyone else hearing/seeing this? Clavo is able to make a deal with a parking lot security guard, who is willing to kill someone just so he can pay off his car?

The climax of the show with the shoot-out with H is typical of this show. It's a quick and abrupt ending... Clavo just shows up and H kills him. How ridiculous is that? Clavo's character is a survivor and I can't see him just giving up like that. The writers for this show are just getting lazy and it shows with endings like this.

I had been a fan of this show and have only been watching lately out of habit, but it will no longer be considered "must see TV" for me...
  • Horatio gets his man. Eric is gunned down and in the hospital. The team sets out to solve the uncut diamond caper and find Eric's shooter.

I am still upset after seeing Eric's tear drop. Hit home and brought back some sad memories. He is my favorite character in the show and I will never watch CSI Miami again if they write him off in this way. We need to see him recover...Oh, please tell me that he is going to stay on the show as a regular.

I thought this was a great show. I am glad Eric isn't dead. I had a tissues the whole show waiting for something bad to happen. I am also glad the Horatio killed Clavo, he deserved to die. I wasn't expecting Clavo to kill his "dad" but I could see where he was coming from. I would be hurt too if the guy, I thought was my dad wasn't then let him go to jail. I loved the episode and I can't wait until next weeks. I can't believe Eric lost his memory though. I hope he gets it back. Eric isn't the Eric I know.

I felt like this episode was kind of a let down. Especially the end. Suicide by cop? Clavo? Really? Come On! I understand that Horatio has to get his man, but that was ridiculous.

And what a strange way to do the whole Eric thing. I mean he was in & out of surgery, looked like they had killed him off for a bit. It was sad to hear him asking for marisol. I wonder what they will do with him now thought, since he has some memory loss. will he be able to return to work?

And what strained form of exposition was the conversation about the diamonds with Natalia & the DNA girl. That girls dialogue was so stilted that I thought she was working with Clavo. Very weird.
  • Well - this was a bit unusual for me in regards to CSI Miami. An episode that I actually liked (in part)

    8.6
    "Great"
Well, at least they finally got rid of the Cuavo storyline - so that was a plus - don't get me wrong, but I actually did like him as a 'regular' nemisis for Horatio. No, my problems is basically nitpicking with the episode.

After the General is shot, Horatio has Frank go after Cuavo and all he does is stand over the General while he bleeds out. True that you might guess it's a mortal wound but shouldn't he at least have called for the paramedics to come? And the 'wild west' shootout at the end. That was a bit of a downer of an ending for Cuavo - I would have expected him to go out guns ablazing. Now just waiting for Horatio to shoot him - or at least to take a shot at H - rather than to wait for him to pull his gun. What does this show about Miami Dade police? Their officers are permitted to have shootouts? Nobody even tries the old 'Police! Drop your weapon!" shout?

Now about Eric. I like him but does this mean he's just going to come back in an episode or two no worse the wear or is he getting written out of the show? He just took a head wound that involves memory loss - I'd question his competency. At least with Wolfe's injury, it's not a life jeopardizing one so you could have him come back.
  • Eric's life hangs on the balance thanks to an old enemy and Clavo Cruz gets his butt kicked. Perfect.

    9.8
    "Superb"
Well, we already knew Horatio was going to go after Clavo; that was pretty much a given there. We already knew the General wasn't Clavo's biological father, who turned on Clavo in "Identity" and rescended his diplomatic immunity. No surprise there that Clavo would go after him, after all, Clavo struck me as the kind of man who didn't forgive or forget easily.

Charming the socks of women to get what he wanted? A pretty common theme but what's sad about it is just how real it is.

What was a real shocker was the fact that Eric was calling out for Marisol. He never really stated whether or not he remembered that she had been killed in "Rampage". When Horatio has the fun task of gently reminding his former brother-in-law that his beloved sister was gone, it's heartbreaking to see the tear slid down Eric's face.

What makes me wonder is just why Eric was calling out for Marisol. Is it possible that, during that moment when he was hovering between life and death, Marisol was there in spirit? Or did the bullet do more damage to Eric's brain than the doctors originally thought?

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the following episodes.
  • Poor Eric.

The epsiode wasn't bad, but my only problem was David Caruso's acting. He needs to do more than look menacing, wave his gun around, and toy with his sun glasses. Johnathan Togo, on the other hand, wow fantastic job, dude. I growl at the stupid security guard. Is a human life really worth a hunk of metal on wheels? I don't think so.

While Ryan's temper was getting the better of him, Calleigh was keeping it cold and cool. Alexx didn't get very much air time. That kind of sucks. I was hoping we'd get to meet Eric's parents this episode, like in CSI with Nick's parents. Wit the GSR tests, I was really disappointed. Wouldn't you normally do both hands for those just in case situations? Very diappointing.

This episode started out sorta weak with Erik pulling through something he could never pull through, and ended weak with a raid on a sweatshop. CSI Miami, since the beginning has done great in respects to the cliff hanger episodes, they do a great job at holding the audiences attention, and capitalizing with riveting situations I truly hoped this would be one of them, but they opted for the Hollywood, were all alive and ready for more ending all to common in lesser shows. It could have been much better, they should have taken a week off and refined this episode.
