  • The last time a case investigated included a plane was in the Pilot episode of CSI Miami, this time round it's done better.

    8.5
Another decent episode from Bruckheimer et al.

The development of the characters continues with a look into Caleigh's romantic involvement with one of the Detectives (her ex) and one of the Secret Service (her new beau?).

Guest starred a quite under-rated actor, one Michael Landes (the original Jimmy Olsen in season one of TVs Lois and Clark).

Certain Law Enforcement divisions here in the UK have all just been issued the RIM Blackberry 7230 Handheld Cellphone and it's nice to see one of the CSI characters (the aforementioned Secret Service guy) using one. I have one and they're an amazing piece of Kit and I'm surprised something similar hasn't been on CSI before..moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: When the crashed plane flies over the pool party, you can see it has two engines, one on each side. However when Calleigh is searching through the wreckage, you can see, one set of twin side by side engines. We can also see the twin engines again when Delko and one of the CSI Techs recreate the crash on the computer.

    • Goof: The plane flies over the party crowd, crashes, and leaves behind a straight trail in the grass, yet the crowd somehow comes running to the plane from the front.

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Caitlyn Townsend: You're fired.
Nick Marshall: Are you kidding me? When I first met you, you were a junkie.
Caitlyn Townsend: I kicked heroin. Now I'm kicking you.

    • Hagen: Are you sleeping with him?
      Calleigh: This conversation is over.
Hagen: (grabs her arm) What if I don't want it to be over?
Calleigh: Then you better remember what I do for a living.

    • Nick Marshall: I'm not going to deny I had a relationship with Heidi, she's 19, we're both consenting adults.
Horatio: Until you found out she was pregnant, you didn't consent to that did you?
Nick Marshall: I'll take a paternity test, if I'm the father I'll honour my financial obligations.
      Horatio: With embezzled funds Nick?

    • Valera: I have the results on that hair from the crime scene, almost all the roots had tags, must have been some fight.
Ryan: Yeah, it was a fight to the death.

    • Calleigh: Excuse me, Calleigh Duquesne with the Crime Lab, what's in the bags Mr. Walsh?
      Sean Walsh: What else, checks.
      Calleigh: No bodies this time?

    • (a match comes up from AFIS)
Ryan: That's Heidi Dillon, her mother's assistant.
Delko: Runaway, theft, fraud, drug possession.
Ryan: I guess she's one of the charity's success stories.

    • Ryan: Mrs. Townsend your daughter's charity was for runaway girls... your models are wearing bikinis.

    • (Horatio has an idea to go around an injunction order forbidding them to autopsy a corpse)
      Alexx: A Virt-topsy?
Horatio: Yes, a virtual autopsy is not covered in the injunction.
Alexx: Ja! Any excuse to try something new.

    • (Horatio spots a man going through some bags from the plane crash)
Horatio: Excuse me!... in the hat! excuse me!... step away from the bags.
Sean Walsh: It's all right they belong to me.
Horatio: These bags are evidence in a plane crash Sir, please step away from them.
Sean Walsh: Yeah I know, I own the plane, Sean Walsh, Air Away Freight Systems, I'm just collecting my cargo.
Horatio: Mr. Walsh looting is a felony... step away from the bags.
Sean Walsh: Look if I don't get these bags to Atlanta under dead line a couple of local banks are going under.
Horatio: How much was on the plane?
      Sean Walsh: 1.2 Billion dollars.
      Horatio: Excuse me?!
Sean Walsh: 1.2 billion in checks, mortages, car loans, company pay roles, everyday every check that's written has to be physically moved to a bank, we're freight dogs, we move them.
      Horatio: Freight dogs?
Sean Walsh: yep that's what we call ourselves, ain't exactly a glamor business.
      Horatio: The bags...stay here.
Sean Walsh(taking a stack on bills from his wallet): I know how this works, so what's it going to take?
Horatio: I suggest you leave now or you will be placed under arrest, it's up to you.
Sean Walsh: You're the man. (walks away)

    • (Ryan notices a vibe when Calleigh and Det. Hagen were talking)
      Ryan: What was that about?
      Calleigh: Complicated, he's been I.O.D.
Ryan: Injured On Duty? What was the problem?
Calleigh: I don't know something about bad back.
Ryan(with a cynical tone): mmm yeah, I've heard that one before.
Calleigh: What's that supposed to mean?
      Ryan: Nothing.
      Calleigh: You can tell me.
Rayn(reluctantly speaking): A couple of guys I knew on patrol, bad back meant they couldn't get cleared by the Department shrink.

    • (Horatio finds Nick Marshall just before he boards a plane)
      Horatio: You going somewhere Nick?
Nick Marshall: I'm taking a couple of days off, I thought I'd head out to the Keys.
      (Horatio smiles)
Horatio: I think you mean a hop to a Caribbean country with no extradition laws.
Nick Marshall: You just don't quit, do you?
      Horatio: Not in my vocabulary!
(Police cars arrive with sirens, Horatio puts his sunglasses on)
Horatio: Hey Nick, you know that vacation you never got...

    • Horatio: (Holding a small laser pointer) You used this to blind the pilots on that plane.
Andrew Stamler: I was just trying to make a point.
Horatio: You did and now you're under arrest.
Andrew Stamler : All I ever wanted was to live in a quiet neighborhood.
Horatio: Yes. Well, Mr. Stamler, you just got your wish.

    • Nick Marshall: I created Caitlin Townsend.
Horatio: Didn't give you the right to kill her.

    • Heidi Dillon: You think i killed Caitlin?
      Ryan: Did you?
Heidi Dillon: That's your job to figure it out, isn't it?

  • NOTES (3)

    • Original International Air Dates:
Czech Republic: December 4, 2007 on TV Nova

    • The park the plane "crashes" in is at the end of the Marine Stadium in Long Beach, CA. This same park contains the tree the body was impaled in in the episode "Rap Sheet".

    • International Episode Titles:
Brazil: Dinheiro não cai do céu (Money Doesn't Fall from the Sky)
Germany: Aus heiterem Himmel (Out of the Blue)
Czech Republic: Letadlo plné peněz (Plane Full of Money)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Nick Marshall: Look, she went all Single White Female with it. (referring to Heidi Dillon)

'Single White Female' was a hit movie in the early 1990's, starring Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh as room-mates. The allusion is because Nick is trying to convince Horatio that Heidi killed Caitlin because she was jealous of her life and her boyfriend, the same reasons Leigh's character tried to kill Fonda's character.
