another good episode! a little boring at sometimes, but i still couldn't leave the tv without knowing what was going to happen to ryan! poor guy, he comes in for eric on his day off and gets shot in the eye with a freakin nail gun! he has to then call in ERIC to help him ; or a min or so, i thought he wasn't going to make it:( The thing is, that nail incedent is now going to effect his eye sight! Nomore bad things happening to ryan!please?
  • Divorce ended up in death. Nail all around the construction site and the body. Two women fight over a man. Ex-husband and ex-husband's fiancee has motive. Which one of them is the killer? Or someone else do the killing?

The scene started with a CSI personnel got hurt, Ryan and Eric is driving him to hospital. Poor Ryan, got a nail in his eye. Cant imagine how bad it feels. Lucky that he still able to dispatch. Furthermore, it is supposed to be his dayoff. Bad day for Ryan. Eric felt so guilty, as he was supposed to be there not Ryan. I got so scared when Ryan hold the nailgun during testing with the safety catch on. I thought it would be the time when Ryan got nailed. "Too little too late" it's taken from a song i believe. And Calleigh has to be in the middle person between the argument... a bit of funny i guess ^^ Then Ryan in dumpster... in his clothes... must be smelly...
  • Not over the top, or unexciting. Perfect!

I am a big fan of CSI: Miami, but I have to admit that they do sometimes exagerate things. But not this episode. It was full of suspense, and was completely interesting. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time. The idea of starting off the episode the way they did probably helped make it one of my favorite episodes. You would watch the screen, intensely, expecting the worst to happen. When it didn't, you were relieved, but anxious. And when it do, well, I'll just say it was worth the wait. This episode was well written, and was not over the top. And it still managed to keep me intrigued through out the entire episode. This entire episode reminded me of why I watch this show to begin with.
  • Very good episode with a suprising end

Poor Ryan, comes in on a day off while he has been working for 12 days straight and gets a nail in his eye. I really loved the storyline. Woman bloud out, she assumebly fought for her life and the weapon was a nailgun. lol i loved it when Calleigh said after breaking Ryan & Delko up to Ryan "You in the Elevator with me" Just the way she said it ^^ My CaRWash-y thoughts ran wild :D Also the sex-conco rockt :P And in the hospital we could see how they pulled the nail out of Ryan's eye, i still think it should'e been Calleigh instead of Alexx holding his hands, but that's just me ^^ Anyway i never would've thought that Brenda's killer was the son Lukas :/ Yay! Ryan & Eric finally get along ^^ Too bad a nail had to get in Ryan's eye for that to happen. Loved the comment about Delko time :D
  • Ouch! That had to hurt big time.

This episode was really good, but poor ryan was having a bad day like getting shot in the eye with a nail gun and I the nail sticking out of his eye, eww! And for a minute there thought he dead. But he was ok in the end when Eric got him to the hospital. Overall, the stroyline was goood.
  • The only Episode in which left me cringing everytime i watch it!

This was one well writen episode and i loved everything about it. I Just cringed at the scene where Ryan Gets nailed by that nail gun because it reminds me of when my mom got whacked inbetween the eyes with a baseball during batting practice at coors field before the rockies day game, i still cringe at it whenever i watch this episode on dvd.

other then that I'm glad Ryan & eric have finally decided to put a way the kids toys/name calling and actually grow up even though ryan's still not my favorite character i like him.
  • Poor Ryan.

Wow, what a twist of emotions and events. I think it\'s sad that it takes a nail gun to get Eric and Ryan finally become almost-friends and put aside their manly pride. Johnathan Togo did a great job. I kind of felt bad for Calleigh in this episode because of how much she getting tugged between Eric and Ryan. Heh heh, Alexx went all mother-hen on Ryan. I\'m surprised she didn\'t try to get in to take Ryan home, but I\'m assuming Eric wanted to get the bad blood cleaned from between he and Ryan.

A little humor at the end makes everything seem like it\'s going to be fine. Delko Time. Riiiight.

Wolfe is rushed to the hospital with a nail in his eye. After a woman is found shot with a nailgun to death. The girl bled to death. She fought for her life and the killers DNA was under the girls fingernails. The husband said that they had sex and was rough. The recording they recovered was fake. Someone set up the husband and set up a trap to shoot anyone who opened the door. and it was Wolfe. The wife watned to get killed and frame the husband. The boy shot her and the step mother shot the CSI.
  • Very climactic, a great episode!

This episode was nicely plotted and very exciting! Even though I don't like Ryan, I still felt his pain and felt bad for him. I like that they delved further into the relationship between Eric and Ryan.

This was one of the first episodes I really liked since the end of Season 2.
  • One of the better episodes of the season.

    "Superb"
The writing and plotting of this episode was really, really good. It saved the episode from turning lame and cheezy, which is an easy way for an episode like this to end up. Instead, this was exciting and gripping.

Right from the first minutes it was clear that this was going to be an exceptionall well orchestrated episode. It started off like any other episode, with images of Miami and music playing. During the end of this segment we see a car driving. Then it cuts to inside the car and suddenly it's far from normal, with Wolfe in panick with a nail in his eye, and Delko trying to drive, call for help and keep Wolfe from pulling the nail out, all at the same time. Naturally we wonder what happened to Wolfe and why he is now with Delko.

At the hospital the ever calm Horatio waits, though don't ask me how he got there first. He asks Delko what happened and it's revealed that Delko never made it to the crime scene, but Horatio did, five hours earlier. Now we are taken back those five hours to watch the story unfold.

This narrative technique is not very commonly used, but extremely effective. Probably BECAUSE it's not used so often. It brings us right into the big event of the episode and then takes us back to find out how we got there, instead of having the big event be a surprise later on. Along with getting our interest up this narrative helps make the happening more believable and less corny.

During the first part of the episode they then play with us. On several occasions it seems like Wolfe will be shot by the nail gun. It's done slightly over the top, in a humoristic manner. It's cheesy, but supposed to be that way. They are mocking their own build-up. It's a great way to keep the dramatic event alive in our memories but allowing us to relax and enjoy the episode. Plus if we are relaxed when it finally happens the effect will be stronger.

As for the case in this episode, it's pretty good. The family drama of the victim was interesting, especially since we didn't have to feel "oh poor woman". She was spiteful and bitter, beyond what one would accept for a person in her situation. And with the rest of the family there were no villains or saints, everyone was pretty much a blend of good and bad. The twist to the murder was interesting, I was glad to see that they added a twist there even though there was enough going on in the episode to do without it.

I haven't seen a lot of the episodes leading up to this one, I missed a few in the beginning of the season, so I don't know if the irritance between Delko and Wolfe has been there for a long time. It worked well in this episode though, and added a whole other weight than the storyline would have had if it was "just" a CSI getting injured. I liked seeing Alexx with Wolfe at the hospital by the way, that was kind of endearing.

I'm getting really sick of Calleigh though. Always that "I'm so sweet and soft" tone and manner. She gets on my nerves, she could at least try to display one other emotion.

And as for Delko and his reasons for being late, well, we don't really get an answer yet so I won't say anything more on the topic.
  • Ryan gets injured in field as he was looking for a suspect in his trailer. Then you see Ryan howling in the car sitting next to Eric who is crazily driving and asking for medical help to be ready at the ER

A very well written episode that keeps you anticipating. The episode starts with Ryan howling in the car sitting next to Eric who is crazily driving to the ER. Then you're being taken back to 5 hours earlier that day, which lets you know how things happened from the crime scene to the scene where Ryan gets shot near the eye by a nail gun. There are scenes when you think, Oh My God, this is it! This is how Ryan gets shot!! But you miss, and that shows you what great writers this episode had.

What makes this episode a 10/10 is the fact that it wasn't Ryan-Wolfe-Centered, as they haven’t forgotten about the crime, nor have they solved it quickly. Thankfully, the nail misses Ryan's eye, and causes no serious damage. We just have to wait and see what's to become of Ryan's eyes in the coming episodes/ seasons.
  • Ryan is injured in the field and the team must find out who did it while he lays in the hospital. The situation between Ryan and Eric comes to a climax as Eric feels guitly about what happened.

Ryan is my favorite character on the show. This episode caught your attention right from the beginning. As soon as ou hear him screaming in pain and that nail in his eye you just have to keep on watching to get the whole story!! The fight between Eric and Ryan early on gives it an emotional touch. You know that Eric must feel bad about what happened and you hope he makes amends with Ryan and that they can finally get along with each other. I love how it ended, Ryan's alright and He and Eric are now friends. It all works out. Great Episode. One I can watch over and over again!
  • Yeowch!

A pretty good episode with personal lives and work colliding in an ugly bloody mess. Ryan is in a strange way finally accepted into the team after having a nail shot into his eye. Horatio meanwhile has not processed a crime scene in weeks and Delko continues to have lots of work interferring personal problems.

Worst of all Ryan had to go through a series of near misses before the damn nail fianlly made it to just above his eye. Admittedly the suspense was spoiled by the fact we all knew it was him following some impressive yelling at the start of the episode. Aside from that this week there was a good fun twisting plot which for once was not horribly telegraphed, the suspects kept us guessing right to the end. The final scene with Eric finally accepting Ryan was nice. If inly Horatio would now stop calling him Mr Wolfe.

This episode has to be one of the best ever Miami CSI's. It was suxh a shock to see the opening scene with Ryan with the nail in his eye. scared me to death because he's just so cute! He and Adam(Eric)have really good chemistry and they work well together...at dislkiking each other. I think how efficient he was in getting Ryan to the airport proves that he likes him even if it is deep deep down!!! It was so clever how the camera showed the nail being removed as though the audience could see through Ryan's eye. Fab episode. Great show and amazing actors. keep up the good work.

The First is scene is Ryan and Delko in the Hummer and Delko is trying to get help. But you do not know that it is Ryan in the Hummer. Then Delko attempts that he never made it to the scene. Then the flashback of the scene. When eventually you see the murderer and Ryan doesn't attempt he is their and then the shot. Back to the present where Ryan is lying in a bed screaming in pain. He has Alexx hold his hands was really good. Then we see Horatio Caine's more human side. When Marisol tells Horatio that she hasd cancer and Delko was helping her and that is why he was repeatively late and then Horatio allows it. Final scene is when Delko tells Ryan about Delko time.
  • I love this show!!! Wolfe is my favorite character and o see my boy in jep was scary.

What an episode! I never saw this coming. Unfortunately, Ryan never saw that nail gun coming at him either. Wolfe has been my favorite since he first appeared at an accident/murder scene. But Eric Delko kept giving him a hard time - after all, this guy was replacing his late best friend Speedle. In the end though, it was Delko's quick action that would help Ryan. And Alexx's being there with Ryan shows he has claimed that place in her heart Speedle once had. I guess if Ryan will never have the problem Speedle had (he was in 2 shootouts, killed in the 2nd with a dirty gun), due to Ryan's OCD and his hyper clean weapon, so they needed to find another way to shoot him.

The back story was pretty good, but it was the story of the CSI people themself was fantastic. 10 to the infinite power!

  • Ryan is going to a trailer to cheack it out and by a suspect he gets shot in the eye with a nail gun, the nail landed right next to eye.

I felt so bad when I saw this eposide, I

just started watching CSI Miami after Speed

had died, and I fell in love with Ryan, so

sue me. I thought it was great that he that

show that he is finally a real person and

not just the guy that replaced Speed. I know

Ryan is a little to overtop at sometimes but

I felt so bad for him. I have a sinking

feeling that this will cause trouble thoughout

the rest of the season. He is a great

character and he needs to be more devolped, I

mean he is OCD which just makes it funny. I

hope we learn more about Ryan thoughout the

    rest of this seasons.

What a start this episode had.... :) it looked really painful... for a moment there I wen't... oh no... not Wolfe!!! But he didn't!

Then we spend the episode waiting for the moment when he gets "nailed"... Delko keeps on passing his job to second... let's hope that doesn't make him go to second plane :(

The murder story had a quite interesting end...!
  • Ryan. Nailgun. Delko problems. Great story. Exciting-yet painful(in a good way)-to watch. Amazing all around. Makes me realize why I LOVE this series!

Wow. That had to be the best episode to grace CSI: Miami since Kill Zone. Wonderful plot driven by many unpredictable twists and a shocking character development. My only question was, why Ryan? Ok I have to say never liked the guy at the first but now it's like love him. Can't get him out of my head. Wonderful acting by Jonathan Togo. I also like the ending. Amazing apology and it adds a little after thought you know? My only regret is (Don't read this if you don't want spoilers) after this they make Ryan go blind. Stupid producers!
  • best.episode.ever. This episode had me glued on my seat. Exactly what I've been waiting for since the opening of the season.

I was sweating throughout the episode. whodunit?! whodunit?! who nailed Ryan in the eye? ohhh that poor, poor thing. Great twists and first few calleigh / ryan scenes scares me a little. in fact, all those bits and bits of scenes trying to make us think that is when ryan going to get nailed? scary.

This was a very good episode. What is exactly going on with Delko? I mean a couple of episodes he was buying drugs, and now what is going on with this girl? Were the drugs for her? Meanwhile, Horatio and Stetler still havent resolved there problems. Ryan, poor guy. That had to "hurt" I feel sorry for the son. To bad it had to happen.
  • Not Ryan. Why oh why did it have to be Ryan?

    8.8
    "Great"
Ryan is only my favorite character in the whole show so to see him with a nail sticking out of his eye was just sad. The make-up for that was excellent and even made me cringe and not look at the TV for all of 5 seconds. This was certainly the best moment in the whole episode (for something happening, I would actually classify the moment as not so great in the world of CSI.)

The rest of the episode was boring and stupid. Nothing happened. It was pretty much like any other episode that there has ever been of CSI: Miami. Overall, it was a good episode though. I actually thought that for a minute Horatio had mastered the raised eyebrow look however I was probably mistaken.

  • This one held my interest throughout and more than that foiled my attempt to guess exactly who had done what.

I wish all of the shows could be like this. It didn\'t get too bogged down in petty details but kept to the one story with all its twists and turns. Eva La Rue certainly is wasted though, isn\'t she. The shots of Ryan with a nail through his eye are among the most exciting I have ever seen. You couldn\'t watch and yet you couldn\'t take your eyes off the screen even while you were cringing inside. When they said it was going to be a shocking episode, I had no idea of what they meant but it certainly was shocking.
  • Pretty good episode! Great twists!

I thought that, although this wasn't the best episode in the series, it was very good. It was certainly an interesting concept-the nailgun, the setups, the clues. It was interesting with the twists and turns. The only slightly predicatable thing in the entire episode was the discovery involving the tape and the background sounds. Other than that, it had it great, unexpected ending, and there were no major problems. I liked it!
  • Good episode, saw the ending coming from a mile away.

You knew the son had to be the murderer. The father and the girlfriend were just too easy. I hated to see the one guy nailed with the nailgun. I don't like the backstories on the characters. I just don't care what they are going thru. Only Caine's background is interesting.
  • Wolfe gets nail in corner of right eye processing a crime scene

I love this epi! It reminds me of the connection that Delko and Speedle had. When Delko came to Wolfe's aid, I coulda cried! With the arguement that Delko and WOlfe had early in the epi, seeing Delko drop everything and rush to Wolfe's aid is a excellent start to both's character delevopment. That are shoing that friends and help comes from unexpected places. The question that boggles my mind is that if Speedle had not died, would Delko be as helpful to fellow CSIs? Maybe this could lead to Wolfe becomming as good of friends with Delko as Speedle was to Delko. At least Woods was there with Wolfe.

To the person below; what in the world gave the epsisode a 1.5 when you said you liked it. Well on my opinon I gave it a 9.1. The episode was full of lots of surprizes like who shot Ryan with the "Nail Gun"; I thought it was the contacter. I was relieved when I found out Ryan was okay but it gave me the creeps looking at his eye.

my wife and i really like all the csi shows and try to catch them all. depending of course, on work.

Being a fellow with a back and neck problem I would advise to get h's back and neck checked out. seem's to us that his head is always flopping over to one side. Is this used to get a different slant on each case? it gets very frustrateing to watch and i myself find my head flopping over when he does,so i can get the same view he is getting. my wife finds it hilarious. So H have it looked at. And make up your mind.glasses on or off. good grief man,no wonder you squint so much. its bloody irritating.

ok so that all being said, tonights show really nailed it.lol now thats as original as tonights show. H get your back looked at
