    • Goof: During the trial, when Byron gives his "Bo-Yeah," line, he turns and walks away from Calleigh. But when the shot changes to her, he is visible at the left repeating his actions and walking away, again.
    • Goof: At the beginning of the episode, Alexx examines the victim's body and turns it over to disclose a large exit wound. However, there is no hole, bloodstain or otherwise on the victim's shirt, which is pulled up to reveal the wound!

Pro se is a Latin phrase meaning for oneself. This status is sometimes known as propria persona (abbreviated to pro per).
    • Johnnie Cochran Calleigh: He thinks he's Johnnie Cochran. Johnnie Cochran was an American lawyer best known for his leadership role in the defense and criminal acquittal of O.J. Simpson. He had achieved a reputation as a go-to lawyer for the rich as well as a successful proponent of police brutality and civil rights cases.
    • Vanilla Ice Horatio: The boat thief? Det. Tripp: Vanilla Ice? Vanilla Ice, was the artistic name of a white rapper, who became famous in the eighties. The allusion, is made by Det. Tripp, about a white man who stole a speedboat, and was dressed in rapper fashion clothing.

Tripp aprehends a white man driving a stolen speed boat, he refuses to help out, so Tripp while he handcuffs him, says: "suit yourself 8 Mile" The 8 Mile reference comes up because the man Tripp takes into custody, was a white man dressed in rapper fashion clothing, much like the rapper Eminem, who made a biographic film titled "8 Mile"
