  • This episode is too, too tragic, too painful, too incomplete. It is badly thought out, and poorly written.

This episode has caused me to stop watching this show. I'm now back into the original CSI. It's not so negative and tragic, it has more humour and the only people who die are the "victims" that are supposed to. I don't understand why you would begin something you don't bring to completion. It feels like Horatio just USED this sick woman for sex, he never really loved her. He is no longer the Hero in my eyes, SHE IS. She wanted marriage, a baby, a life....she got nothing! It's a mistake to think his having a wife (and even a child) would minimize his character. On the contrary, it actually enhances it, makes him more believable and human. I thought she was pretty, both inside and out, honest, brave, compassionate, everything I USED to think he was. I can't stand watching him anymore, especially with other women, it feels like adultry even though she's dead. It's just bad writing, a poor storyline and I can't even believe it comes from the same writers as the original.

The episode starts with Marisol and Horation in an ambulance and the Mala Noche gang stop them. That's so sad because Horatio and Marisol just married last episode, right?

Poor Delko, his ex-girlfriend Gloria, tries to "vanquished" every woman who is near to Delko, and thought that Marisol is his wife!! Wow.

However, Marisol died, and Eric and Horatio want to seek revenge to the Mala Noche gang member--Antonio Riaz. This episode is probably one of the best episode in this season, one of the highest ratings in CSI: Miami I've ever rate. But the writers can do better, especially for Ann Donahue, I thought she is the creator of this series.
  • Opening scene with Marisol being shot and flashbacks tell the story what happened...

The "Mal Noche" gang trial turns bad when a diversion is created by the witness and the defendant goes free. One of Delko's ex-lover, Gloria, is intimidating all the women he is close to. After Natalia and Marisol's car windows are thrashed, Eric warns Gloria to back off..

Later on, Eric and Marisol are shot. At first they thought it was Gloria but then finds out that it was actually the Mal Noche gang. As the ambulance transporting Marisol is on its way to the hospital, it gets blocked by a car of the gang members. A shooting between the gang members and Horatio occurs.

On another note, how can Horatio be so calm when Marisol, his wife and the woman he loves got shot?? I mean, come on!! He doesn't show any emotions even after Marisol dies in the hospital!

The story plot was not too bad, but Horatio's lack of emotions made this episode lose its dynamic.
  • Mala noche get their revenge on Horatio by murdering his wife - and Eric's sister.

Firstly, someone has referred to Horatio marrying a sick girl, but I thought she was supposed to be in remission? I must admit for this storyline to be more believable they needed to be married for longer - it was hard to feel the pain, when the character hadn't been around for very long - it would have been nice if we could have seen some evidence of her making Horatio a happier person, then we would have had more empathy for his loss.

I don't agree it brought Eric and Horatio closer, or healed any rift - Eric had already accepted the marriage and Horatio keeps a little distance between all of his team anyway - even though he looks out for them.

The whole storyline was created so we can have a confrontation between Horatio and Eric and their enemies later on but there were many other ways of doing this...it would have been more believable if Yelena, or Ray junior had been murdered, actually.

Still, I must confess I loved the part where Horatio takes out the would be ambushers "stay down..Stay down.." ...Classic H!

I saw this episode some weeks ago, we\'ve now started with repeating season two again...

This really was a very emotional episode, very sad and it touched me deeply!

I already knew that it was going to happen, i don\'t know why, but i did... it didn\'t make it less of a shock though!

    It just isn\'t fair!

And with Eric\'s crazy ex! Gosh, i don\'t know the actors name... but she is GOOD... she made me go crazy! I was REALLY annoyed by her!

I would never have been as calm as Eric was... if i had found out that my ex... or anybody for that matter... actually pointed a gun at my brother... There wouldn\'t have been a piece left of the person...

But that\'s just me... I really couldn\'t help crying, i felt so sorry for Eric, Horatio and Marisol (sorry for any spelling errors)

This was the best epiode of the eason so far. Alot happened. With the death of His new wife you think he would shed a tear or show so darn emotion. No, the horrible actor has yet repeated pause sentences while looking at the ground and yeah more of the pulling off my glasses scene endings. Hey caruso- Give it a rest and stand straight.
  • The main storyline was just... bad. Dramatic and sad et all, but it annoys me that they went down that road.

In many aspects this was a good episode. There was a lot of tension, a lot of action and a nice blend of comedy to make us relax every once in a while. There was a good red herring to distract us and some good tie-backs to the season premiere.

Yet... this episode felt really stupid. There were a lot of things that seem just plain idiotic. Why did they bother to murder Marisol when she was already dying from cancer? It seems like a pointless path for the writers to take. If they wanted her to die all along they should have either made her cancer less serious so that it wasn't a real threat to her life, or have it be what she dies from. The Mala Noche could have easily gotten a different target. And why did they have her and Horatio marry just one episode before? It seems like there's no good reason whatsoever. He would have cared just as much for her without the ring on her finger, so it wasn't exactly needed if they were after motivation for payback.

It all kind of annoys me... There were a lot of interesting possibilities with the Horatio/Marisol storyline; it would have brought interesting character development as well as storylines for tension in the workplace between Horatio and his not so approving brother-in-law Delko. I don't really see the point in investing in the character of Marisol and marrying her to one of the CSIs only to drop her in the next episode. It makes the whole storyline with her pointless; she never served any real purpose.

Also, her death was just plain weird. She went from wide awake and doing fine to her heart just stopping. That doesn't happen, she would have shown signs of her body giving in, or at least her heartbeat would have been weaker before it stopped. Not to mention she would have been very carefully monitored and the doctors would have shown up as soon as her heart stopped beating. Her death just makes no sense. It almost made me wonder if her death was being faked, either by the good guys or by the Mala Noche. That would be kind of interesting, actually... if Marisol shows up alive after about a season. If it was faked by the good guys that might explain why Horatio didn't seem all that sad.

But it was interesting to watch Horatio and Delko in the last scene of the episode. Delko has been sort of keeping Horatio at arm's length for a while but now they're joining forces again.

On the annoying side of the episode, Calleigh is really starting to irritate me. So far she has yet to show a single emotion which feels believable. The only time she seems to mean it is when she's getting a laugh at the expense of someone else. When she told Delko she was sorry about his sister she said it like "yeah, too bad, but get a grip". Not to mention her "holier than thou" attitude is really annoying. I don't think she's the mole, but I would be very glad to be rid of her. Frankly I would have preferred her being shot rather than Marisol. At least Marisol was likeable.

I suppose this was a good episode, but I was really annoyed with the path they chose for it.
  • During a trial for Raphael Sifuentes,Antonio Riaz fakes testimony to get close to the murder weapon. he takes and both Mala noches escape.then Marisol is murdered. an order was put out by Antonio Riaz and she was shot by Memmo Fierro.

I didn\\\'t like it,Donahue could\\\'ve done better, especially since the wound Marisol recieved was surviable. they could\\\'ve made it fatal, like Tim Speedle. The way Horatio and Eric took this case into their own hands was pretty cool, putting Memmo in the trunk of that car...I didn\\\'t see the point of Gloria in this episode, she didn\\\'t seem to play an important part and why did she wait this long to vandilize Natalia\\\'s car she could\\\'ve done that when Eric was actually going out with Natalia.I didn\\\'t understand why Memmo would kill Horatio\\\'s wife, since he has one himself, he should\\\'ve known how Horatio\\\'d react.
  • Good episode but could have been better.

The one thing that I didn\\\'t like about the final episodes was that Marisol was killed one episode after she got married to horatio and then horatio goes off and fights the mal noche gang without shedding a single tear. It\\\'s just unrealistic. It was still an OK episode but it could have been a little better.

  • CSI Miami turning into The Shield?

    9.5
    "Superb"
The fact that I find ridiculous is how cold this show is and there is no emotion whatsoever basically. Horatio marries Marisol in one episode which is kind of jumping the shark, in the next one she is killed. I think the marriage should\'ve at least lasted for some time than just one episode. She didn\'t even look that badly off when she suddenly died, but I guess people who get shot and have cancer don\'t look bad in the universe of CSI Miami. Then Horatio Caine is shown as a cartoonish superhero, whom the bad guys conveniently shoot at one at a time, giving him the chance to take them down. Also the way he just happens to show up at wherever he is needed, ex. the courthouse, the boat. Stop with the unrealistic bad-ass image of Horatio Caine. Man, should he feel guilty about her death now, considering his job is what caused it but I bet as cold as this show is, it probably isn\'t happening. Now Eric and Horatio tie up the gangster, take him to the everglades, threatening to kill him. That part is where it\'s crossing into The Shield zone.

This was a great season finale, just as expected!but i don't think they should have killed off Marisol.I really like her part and where they were going with it.I hope some how they bring her back, like faked her death for protection purposes til they caught the bad guys or something along those lines. What do ya'll think about that. They could go a long way with it!!! I just hate it when the shows go into reruns but I also understand the stars need a vacation too,but not such a long one lol.Hurry back guys we are going to miss CSI this summer.

ok. let's be serious. if the person that you loved more than anything in the world died because of the repercssions of, in essence, yor job, you would feel guilty. and be extremely pset. if u were confronted by cold hearted killers, killers with guns, and you were by yourself, you would probably be extremely affected. and it is doubtfl, highly doubtful in fact, that they wold, as in a cartoon/kill bill, each take their turn and individually attack you. Horatio in this series makes no sense to me; i'm not asking himj to be a glass case of emotion but he's so unaffected by anything. the show is just so unrealistic...it makes me remember why miami has always been my least favorite csi.
  • Can I PLEASE have back the hour of my life that I lost?

    2.0
    "Terrible"
This had to be one of the worst episodes in the series. I admit I am not much a fan of the CSI series. First starters, it reaks of Law & Order \"ripped from the headline\" style, and it is way to formulaic for my tastes. On the other hand, I do like Caruso, Miami is a cool setting with a lot wierd stuff going on ... and, oh yea, there is NOTHING else showing on Monday nights.

That said, nothing would\'ve been better than this malarkey. How many different ways was this bad? Let\'s see ... the courtroom scene to begin with ... the prisoner\'s weren\'t in cuffs or shackles or anything? The witness grabbing the gun, tossing to someone else, who catches it, loads the clips and starts shooting ...

And it went downhill from there ... Delko\'s psycho ex? C\'mon. And she was on the roof, lined up to whack him, and couldn\'t pull the trigger? Only to have the Mal Noche pop his sister at the same moment? Oh, brother!

Oh, and then, as rimtorra pointed out, what was with H leaving his wife in the hospital by herself. And Delko wasn\'t there? D gets his phone call, and he barely breaks out a frown??!?! C\'mon, with all this, these guys should\'ve been emotinally devestated.

Finally, there was the death scene, where she is stable then just suddenly flat lines. Again, c\'mon. That went out with the \'70\'s ... patients stopped flat lining after \"Emergency\". Everyone now knows you go would likely go into ventricular fibrillation first. And finally, where the ^%#^ were the nurses and doctors when this happened? If she was that serious, weren\'t they monitoring her??

Sorry, guys, but if you loved this episode, you really don\'t know what quality is. Anyone up for a Tom Clancy novel?
  • Emotionally cold episode with cool technique.

    "Terrible"
This episode was extremely painful to watch.

We\'ve already been shown Horatio as a dedicated man, but having him leave his wife\'s bedside went beyond dedication, especially when they gave us no insane rage and need to revenge.

No, shooting the villains (and most of it was self defense) doesn\'t count.

The continuation of the actual plot wasn\'t bad. Seeing all the characters have some time in the spotlight was excellent.

Watching Horatio and Delko try to deal with the pain and the loss however was truly disappointing. The acting was less than superb (especially when Delko answered his phone) and the characters\' reactions were weird. Also, leaving her to die alone in the hospital was just weird. Would have thought either Delko or Horatio had stayed there.

I\'m sure fanfic authors will have lots of theories for Horatio\'s behaviour, but it\'s weird how calm he could stay when his wife was dying. Looking back to 3x01 this was hugely disappointing. Speed\'s death got more out of Horatio than this and they were just colleagues. This was his wife.

The one moment of greatness in the episode was Calleigh\'s reaction to the bad news Delko got. Excellent moment of using few words and minimal acting (intentionally) to show the awkward and painful moment of being the one who consoles someone with such a loss.

Splitting the screen and using the new style of showing evidence was slightly intriguing, but it can also be used to hide the plotholes and the not so satisfying acting.

(And no, I\'m not here to flame anyone, I actually like most of Caruso\'s work. Just not here.)

I loved it. It had action, gun fire, snipers, crazy ex-girlfriends, and some real emotion. I just loved everything that had to do with this episode and i can not wait until the conclusion.

Poor Eric, he has so many bad things happen to him. He has to be my favourite character on the show and one of my favourite actors. Hes just so good and it helps that he is so hot.

If you have not seen this episode, find some way to. It is definitly worth seeing again, and again.

I can not wait until the next episode.

This episode is tupical Caine, always superior. Whats is up with CSI Wolfe? He always takes out his gun and either a) doesn\'t shoot or b) misses horribly. why does that guy even have a gun then? completely useless. It kinda unrealiztic with Caine killing all the Mala Noche members who came out of the car. and at the end when he drags off the noche member with delko, would that be consider a dirty cop? hmm.. so its caine crossing the good guyvs. bad guy line. marisol was a mistake anyways. and her death was so faked. the only person i really like is ducaine.

Big bore. Saw his wife dying as soon as they shot her. Psycho chick did not see coming. She was a nice little twist to the plot. Ugly actress though. Delko usually goes out with hot girls but she was not. Pretty eyes though. The last episode better be great.
  • I would have probably given the episode a higher rating except for the fact I missed the last 20 minutes.

I new something was up the minute I turned on the DVR to watch the episode. THe whole thing really sucks because they should have just aired the show that ran into CSI: Miami another day instead of starting later. The DVR doesnt compensate for that. If I would have known 20 minutes wouldn't have got recorded I would have watched it at work. ANyway, did I hear Horatio tell Marisol he loved her. That is alot of emotion coming from him. I am probably the only one who thought they were cute together considering the other posts here and on the IMDB site. It was still sad when she got shot. I never saw the ending and hope they repeat it soon. Also, Eric's ex-girlfiend elevator doesn't go to the top.
  • The Mala Noches have put out a hit on Horatio on his wedding day to Marisol, Delko's sister. Delko's crazy ex-girlfriend, Gloria is breaking out the windows of the women he has had a relationship with. Marisol is shot and her life hangs in the balance.

    5.0
    "Mediocre"
I was dissapointed with this episode. It was too unrealstic. We had Delko's crazy ex-girlfriend trying to snipe him and his sister. Coincidentally enough, the person who actually shot them was only one floor about Gloria in the same building. After Marisol is shot, Horatio is in the ambulance with her, a black car stops in front of it and Horatio gets out of the ambulance to take care of them. He comes out in the open facing three armed men all shooting at him. They never hit him, but he is able to pick them all off, one-by-one. When Horatio calls Delko to tell him Marisol has died, he just says, "OK, Ill be there." Calleigh must be psychic because no sooner than he closes the phone, she says, "I'm so sorry." I think this is a great show, but this was just far too melodramatic for me. I hope they will back off of this kind of thing next season.
  • a total waste of time with one bright light. ending the whole Horatio/marison mistake

    2.0
    "Terrible"
This episode was bad. Even for a CSI:Miami episode, which always come off as a little too soap opera compared to Vegas and the top of the game New York. But this episode was the worst Miami I have ever seen.

The only bright light is the ending of the whole Horatio/Marisol thing. That was, in my humble opinion, a mistake from the start. I have no issues with bringing a family member for Delko around. Dude has like 5 sisters and we've never seen one. But to give her cancer (and yet even in the middle of chemo she looks like a model. don't think so) etc. was just bad. Marlena is Satan bad. But then to have Horatio hook up with her. First off, he's old enough to be her father. Or darn close to. Second, her brother works for him. Third, there was nothing between them. It was the most blah love affair in the world. No I didn't expect to see them having sex like rabbits, but how about holding hands or I don't know, kissing your wife on the cheek when you leave the middle of a meal to go to court. And then there was the utter lack of emotion when she died. Now I"m not expecting him to go sobbing into the arms of a co-worker, a la Danny Messer. but come on. not even a little tear in the corner of the eye or a single "Marisol, you have to fight. You can't die. I need you." Something.

Of course I had little expectations to be satisfied the moment the episode started. They set us up last week with this awesome idea that someone, aka Marisol, was going to be shot as they walked into the court for the wedding. and then cheapened that by having nothing happen and now we are somewhere between a few days and a few weeks later. Marisol is all happy and in remission and they are having the most unlovefilled meal I've ever seen. we get a little hint about potential trouble and she has to have a guard but where did that come from. and what kind of idiot has an open air meal when there's a danger risk going on. And then halfway through the episode she finally gets shot only to have her slowly die for the rest of the episode until Horatio and Eric find the gunman and take him out to the 'Glades' for a talk. and I didn't for a second really believe that either of them was angry enough to pull the trigger so I was shocked when the guy folded.

And then there was Gloria. Oh my Gawd. what a waste that whole thing was. Added nothing to the story except to delay then finding the truth and help to stretch the show out to the required 44 minutes.

This is one episode that won't be staying on my tivo. and leaves me very worried about the finale ep. if this is the way they leave the season, could there be no season 6 in Miami. at this rate, I won't mind. send Calleigh to Mac in NYC, he'd love her. and send Ryan off to a new city and a new entry in the franchise. Los Angeles might be too easy a choice. How about maybe Chicago. they could back door it by having Mac go home for a visit and walk into a case. Seattle might be another good choice. And perhaps send Vallera and DC somewhere as well. at the moment, those 4 are the only folks worth watching on the show.

  • Emotional but nothing shocking.

Tonight's show opens with an ambulance driving down a road with Horatio in the back, tending to an injured Marisol Delko. A black car stops the ambulance by stopping in front of it, acting as a roadblock. With no other option, Horatio grabs his gun and leaves the ambulance.

    Eight Hours Earlier...

A quick flashback to earlier in the day, we find Horatio and Marisol talking about their plans after the wedding. He then tells Marisol that she'll be escorted by a police officer until a trial is over. The Mal Noche gang is very dangerous, and all of those involved in the case need to be protected, including family members. Horatio leaves the table to go to the courtroom when he's called in for questioning.

We cut to the courtroom, where Ryan Wolfe is being questioned about the case. Ryan tells the lawyer that he processed the weapon the police seized from the suspect during the shoot-out at the quarry. Antonio Riaz, one of the Mal Noche gang members is then called to the stand. The suspect, Raphael Sifuentes, seems a little concerned about his testimony. When Antonio Riaz begins his testimony, Raphael Sifuentes threatens him. When Antonio Riaz is asked if the gun in question is the one seized by the police at the quarry, he says he's not sure and asks to see it again. As the lawyer brings it towards him, Riaz grabs the gun and tosses it to someone in the audience. He then loads the gun and begins shooting the security guards, creating havoc throughout. Ryan Wolfe tries to shoot the man, but there are too many people in the way. After a few more shots go off, Ryan is able to take a shot or two at the gunman but misses. Horatio arrives on the scene for his testimony just in time to gun the man down, just before he was able to get away.

After the main credits roll, Det. Frank Tripp briefs Horatio Caine on the situation. The man he killed was Jose Truillo, a low-level Mal Noche gang member. Frank then tells Horatio that he's issued an alert across the city for the escape vehicle. The men know how dangerous the gang is, so the sooner they find them, the better.

Outside of the crime lab, Natalia walks to her car, only to find that the side windows have been smashed out. She's clearly upset about this and walks into the lab and confronts Eric Delko about it. She complains that his girlfriend broke her windows. Eric assures Natalia that she's not dating him anymore, but she'll ask her (Gloria) if she did it. Natalia's very angry about the whole thing and ruffles a few feathers with Eric.

At the courtroom, Ryan Wolfe and Calleigh Duquesne look around for a way to get bullets into the courtroom since SWAT supposedly searched it beforehand. Calleigh is able to find packing tape stuck to the bottom of the chair Jose Truillo sat in. Ryan asks for the tape so that he can have Delko test it for prints.

At the lab, we find Eric Delko running tests on the packing tape found in the court room. He's able to find a single print just as Calleigh walks in. They talk for a minute or two about Gloria, Delko's ex-girlfriend who's caused a lot of problems for him since they broke it off. The print on the packing tape is matched to Alan Parker, a janitor in the court house.

A quick cut to the interrogation shows Alan Parker being questioned by Calleigh and Ryan. Alan sounds to be a family man, who was put in a bad situation. He claims they threatened to kill he and his family if he didn't help them. Alan IDs Jose Truillo as the man who approached him. Jose Truillo, if you remember, is the gunman at the courthouse. Alan tells Calleigh that he was able to plant the magazine of bullets during a court room break because a person got sick, losing their lunch on the floor. Calleigh asks if he still has the vomit, and Alan says it's still in the bucket in the janitor's closet. Ryan's not too thrilled about the way this is going, since he knows he's going to be the one who has to collect it.

Elsewhere in the lab, Eric confronts Gloria about her behavior. Gloria is under the impression that Eric is married. She says she saw the two of them at the courthouse. Eric corrects her by telling her that was his sister, who got married. Eric didn't tell Gloria about having a sister because he thinks information with her is dangerous.

Ryan joins Valera in her lab and tells her that he found coal in the puke from the court room. Coal is an active ingredient in ipecac, which is used to make you vomit, meaning the puker was in on the whole thing. Ryan then gives Valera a small jar of the puke to test for a DNA match. Ryan leaves and allows her to do her tests. After some time, Valera comes up with a match.

We quickly cut to the interrogation room, where we find a very young man, Benito Sarosa, being questioned by Frank Tripp and Horatio Caine. Benito inadvertently tells the guys that he knows where the escapees are. When they pick up on the hint, Horatio and Frank threaten to throw him in lockup with the reputation of being a snitch. This puts Benito in a pretty bad situation for himself, so he decides to tell them what he knows. Benito writes down "Son Ju Restaurant." Frank IDs this is as a popular Japanese restaurant. Horatio tells Frank they'll need a warrant to search the location.

As Marisol is about to get into her car, she finds her windows knocked out, just as Natalia did earlier. Scared, Marisol calls Horatio, but he doesn't answer, so she calls Eric and tells him that she was just in the store for a minute and came back out and found her car with broken windows and her purse was stolen. Eric realizes this is Gloria's handy work and tells her to take it to the shop and he'll try and get her purse back for her.

Eric pays Gloria a visit to lay down the law. She still seems to be under the impression that Marisol is married to Eric. He threatens to take her downtown and ask the DA to go after her for the maximum. Gloria changes her tune at this point and offers to go and get the purse for him. Eric then asks her to get her checkbook to cover the windows she broke.

Frank gets back from the judge with a warrant for the search of the restaurant. The judge was apparently eager to help out... Horatio quips, "gunfire in a courtroom will do that".

We quickly cut to a SWAT team moving in on the restaurant Benito said the Mal Noche guys are hanging out at. Frank and Horatio enter after SWAT has cleared it. They're unable to find anyone inside, but there are cigarettes still burning, which means they just missed them. They also found the prison clothes, so someone tipped them off. Benito couldn't have called and warned them, since he's been given no access to a phone since he was questioned. They run down a list of possible people who could have warned the Mal Noche gang members, and the only person on the list that's likely is the courtroom janitor. Alan Parker, the janitor, is brought over to the restaurant and questioned by Frank and Horatio. They have looked into Alan's personal life, and he has no family to threaten, making him a liar. He finally comes clean and tells them he was in it for the money. He would relay all of the information he could to the Mal Noche gang members, so Horatio asks Frank to check his phone for numbers.

Marisol and Eric catch up and she gets her purse back. He apologizes for the purse and the broken window. Eric then looks up at one of the tall buildings nearby and claims he saw a glint of something. Eric and Marisol are then both shot from a long distance, assumingly from that building Eric was looking at.

A quick cut to the crime lab, shows Frank informing Horatio that both Delkos were hit. They both race for the elevators.

We join Horatio in his Hummer, racing to the scene. He arrives and finds Eric wounded in his arm, while Marisol is shot in the abdomen. They get into the ambulance and take off. After a while, the black car pulls ahead of the ambulance and blocks the roadway. Horatio then gets out and takes out two of the gunmen; the third runs away. In the ambulance, Marisol isn't doing so well.

Back from commercial, we find Horatio at the hospital, looking over Marisol. Eric comes in and he and Horatio are both in disbelief. They leave to go after the Mal Noche gang members, once and for all.

Ryan Wolfe and Alexx Woods arrive at one of the crime scenes. Alexx thinks people in the city have gone crazy, shooting up court rooms, trying to kill Horatio, etc. They and Horatio examine the black car which blocked the ambulance. The force of the stop seems to have knocked a contact lense out of the driver's eye, so he was unable to shoot Horatio and decided to run instead. Eric and Calleigh examine the scene in which Eric and Marisol were shot. They were able to find the bullet Eric was shot with; it was embedded in a concrete post. It was a .308, which is a very powerful sniper round. Calleigh and Eric narrow down the possible shooting locations. They search a balcony of one building and find a woman's fingernail. Eric recognizes it as being from Gloria. As he leaves to find her, Calleigh warns him to follow procedure and not to make it worse.

At the lab, Horatio checks in with Valera, who has results from the contact lens. It had the DNA of Memmo Fierro on it. Horatio recognizes the photo which pops up; he was the driver.

In the CSI garage, Ryan takes apart the car, looking for evidence. Ryan tells Horatio about the evidence he collected. He found several cigarette buts, from a variety of different countries. One of the rims has blood on it, but Horatio doesn't understand why, since no one was shot in its vicinity.

At Gloria's home, Eric and a police officer arrive and Eric demands Gloria to get out of her car and open the trunk. In the back, we find a rifle in a case. Eric's reminded of being shown this gun early on in their relationship; she enjoys hunting, afterall, so it would make sense to have a weapon like this. The police officer cuffs Gloria and takes her away.

Back at the lab, Ryan tells Horatio that the red substance on the rim wasn't blood, but a dye. The city uses it in their water to check the water flow. The dye came from a sprinkler system. Ryan called the city and found that only a portion of the city is being tested with the dye, thus cutting down their area to investigate. Ryan does a search and comes across a particular house which has a lot of visible heat, thanks to a satellite. They believe a Universal is being held there, which is why there are so many cars and people, thus creating a large amount of visible heat to the thermal imaging in the satellite.

At the house, we find a dozen or so men talking at a table. The house is then raided by the police, SWAT, coast guard, and a few of the CSIs. Fortunately, no shots are fired, all of the members of the gang there are rounded up without any problem.

Raphael Sifuentes is being questioned at the police station. Unfortunately, he's unwilling to tell them where Memmo Fierro is.

At the lab, Eric checks in with Calleigh, who has been examining the rifle. Much to their surprise, the striations on the bullets don't match.

Gloria is shown questioned at the PD. Eric's clearly upset with Gloria and he demands answers. She admits to considering shooting Marisol, but she couldn't do it. Instead, she hear shots from her right, and above her. The sound she heard (echo) tells Eric it was a covered balcony.

At the hospital, Marisol is all alone, as Eric and Horatio are trying to find the killer.

At the crime lab, Officer Jessop and a few others shot Horatio the arsenal they recovered at the Mal Noche safe-house. They also found a lot of cash. One of the weapons he found was a .308, so Horatio asks him to take it to the firearms lab. Eric then receives a call from the hospital. Marisol is asking for Horatio, so he leaves to tend to her. Eric tells him Calleigh believes she found where the gunman was when he pulled the trigger. Horatio asks him to wait for him.

Horatio joins Marisol at the hospital. His presence brings a smile to her face. They talk about having dinner that night, and then she passes away, with her hand in his.

Calleigh and Eric come across the balcony from which the sniper was stationed when he shot Eric and Marisol. They found the GSR cone left from the gun. Although the gun is gone, Eric found two small bottles of rum, likely because the shooter needed to calm his nerves beforehand. He knows that only one hotel uses rum as a perk, so he and Horatio are planning on visiting it. Eric then receives word from Horatio that Marisol passed.

Back at the hospital, Eric kisses his sister and joins Horatio. He tells him Frank picked up Memmo Fierro at the hotel.

In the middle of nowhere, Horatio and Eric have Memmo Fierro in the trunk of a car. They've driving over a very bumpy, dirt road. In the back, Memmo Fierro is yelling, begging for them to stop. Eventually, they pull over and pull him out of the trunk. They pull out their guns and threaten Memmo. They want to know who put out the hit on Marisol. He tells them Antonio Riaz did. Horatio asks Memmo to tell Antonio Riaz that he's a dead man. We're then left with a "To Be Continued..." screen.

Although I generally liked the episode, this was all too expected. I wasn't that surprised Marisol was the one who got shot, not Horatio. I was very disappointed in this turn of events. The episode had a fair amount of emotion, mostly anger and sadness, which is usually lacking from many episodes. This was certainly a personal episode, as I suspect the next episode will be as well.
  • Messy episode. ( SPOILERS AHEAD) I never got the whole marrying thing from the start anyway, but this was a lousy way to end that. Very strange twists and turns all over. Messy at best. I really hope the finale will be the total opposite !

    Messy episode. ( SPOILERS AHEAD)

I never got the whole marrying thing from the start anyway, but this was a lousy way to end that. I know it\'s TV , dramatic license and all, but a bit more realism would have been better ( if she was that severely injured she would have died on the table - which eliminates the goodbye scene between her and H. so they couldn\'t do that - or at least had a lot more wires coming out of her and monitors filling the room)

(Also - for someone that sick she was extremely active ).

Very strange twists and turns , jumping all over the place. Messy at best. I really hope ( and think ) the finale will be better.
  • Too obvious

Had she survived then I would have probably said that wasn't obvious, but she had to die so we would have more sympathy for this episode and the characters. Of course seeing Eric hurting over the death of a loved one, that's new, but where Horatio is concerned, well he always loses the people close to him (brother, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, mother yada yada yada)

I hope they do something new in the upcoming season. I'm very tired of this season already. Horatio (David Caruso) really needs to think about all that posing, also needs to start showing some emotion, but I have to admit the ending of this episode was well thought out. Looked cool... will look forward to the next episode to see who the mole is.
  • Sorry for H!

Sorry that Horatio got married but what is worse became

A widow in the same day. And that the mole in the lab

Will be discovered soon. I know who it may be but I won't tell because that would ruin it for those that don't know!

But one thing is for certain! That it isn't H of course!

He wouldn't be at all IMO! He is just too honest!
