  • the season 7 premiere starts off with a lot about Haratio (being dead and the Medical Examiner van) When the team find out that the person who shot H is closer to home than they think they get supersupicious.moreless

This episode was well written and had a good storyline. In the first section after Calliegh said "we find out who did this, we find out" it went straight the scene of Ryan on his phone reading a message saying it was done i immediately suspect the shooting to staged by Ryan. Also the part before the theme where Ryan told Calliegh and Eric H was dead made me believe that he was really dead. Overall i was pleased with the quality of the episode and how tht Season 6 finale connected with the Season 7 premiere it was fantastically well writtenmoreless
  • Predictable but great none the less!

    9.0
Did anybody really believe that Horatio Caine was dead? The answer is no. And it is answered about 10 minutes into this predictable seventh season premiere of CSI: MIAMI. The season begins with Horatio's body apparently being taken off in the M.E's truck and the team arriving on the scene. We soon learn (although we probably already knew!) that Horatio's death was just a plan to fool the people who wanted him dead. There are multiple good points of this episode: the return of Yelina Salas, loads of action (involving a shootout situation and a blowing up boat). But there is also the usual CSI MIAMI Horatio-characteurisms, and a lame ending!moreless
  • Not my favourite.......

    8.5
In this episode of CSI Miami the following happens. We open this H's body being taken away after he has been murdered. Calliegh and Eric learn that Wolfe is involved. When they confront him he admits that H is still alive. It was all planned out, by Ryan, H and another officer. The team work hard to help H, out of his situation. H learns that the bullets are still on the streets and goes after them. H goes after Ron and Ron's boat explodes with him inside of it. Eric tells H that they have searched everywhere but they have not yet found Ron's body.moreless
  • I told people....

    9.5
I told alot of people that H was just playing possum. How better to cath the guy that wants you dead than to be dead. I love these plot twists with fake deaths. CSI:Miami did it in a previous ep with H's brother and it was great. It was great this time. But, you also saw how mush H's team really cares about him because they were on the ball ready to string someone up for the death of their beloved leader. I also believe that the bad guy from this ep is not dead. I think he will pop up in a later ep this season. This was a great season premier.moreless
  • Amazing!! I love this show!!

    10
This was a great season premier. It did not waste any time getting to the action!! The scene when Frank and Eric are in the middle of the shoot-out was nerve wrackng. We finally get to see Horatio, still as great as ever! I loved the whole story line with Yelina going undercover to help Horatio. We didn't get to see Kyle. I wonder whats going on with him, and why did he have the gun in the season finale? Oh well. All in all, it was another great episode. Every bit worth the 3 month wait since last May.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • While explaining how he helped fake Horatio's death, Ryan states that the medical examiner was an ATF plant. But Dr. Wellner was actually the fill-in medical examiner in the previous episode, before Horatio had even met Agent Caldwell and concocted the fake shooting.

    • Jose Zuniga who plays Juan Ortega in this episode, plays Detective Cavaliere on CSI, and has played a Detective on the original CSI since the forth season. Which is kind of ironic, because in this episode he plays a hard criminal, then on CSI, he puts away hard criminals. He also appears in an episode of CSI: Miami's first season playing Carl Galaz.

    • Calleigh is the only one on the team that doesn't see Horatio alive. Ryan knows the plan and Eric meets with Horatio but Calleigh doesn't.

    • $10,000,000 in $100 bills (the highest U.S. denomination) would require 100,000 bills and weigh approximately 220 pounds (100 Kg). There is no way that that much money would fit into a small briefcase and no way that Yelina could lift it on her own. Ironcially, Gil Grissom on CSI pointed out the same error to a crooked casino owner in the episode Suckers. Also, in CSI New York Detective Mac Taylor mentioned the weight of money too. In the latest episode, 5x01 Veritas, Mac said, The depths of the tire impressions on the car...would have been much deeper if there was two million dollars in that vehicle.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Ortega: Taken down by a dead man

    • Eric: (about Ron's body) We searched everywhere. There's still no body.
Horatio: We got to keep looking, Eric.
Eric: I'm with you, H, what do you want to do?
Horatio: Whatever it takes, we'll find him.
      Eric: You and me?
      Horatio: You and me, Eric.
Eric: This never ends, does it?
      Horatio: And it never will.

    • Eric: (about the secret operation) Why Wolfe? Why didn't you come to me?
Horatio: Eric, you were the obvious choice, and there was a chance this was going to fail. I didn't want that for you.

    • (Calleigh and Eric call the number on suspect's phone)
      Ryan: This is Wolfe. Hello?
(Sees his number on computer screen)
      Calleigh: Ryan.
Eric: (heated) It all makes sense now. How you got there so fast, why you released the body...
Ryan: Eric. I want you relax 'cause this isn't how it looks.
Calleigh: Really? 'Cause it looks like you and Caldwell are responsible for Horatio's murder.
Ryan: (angry) Really? 'Cause you're wrong.

    • Calleigh: So, what happens now?
Jake: Well, ATF will send me somewhere, put me on ice for a while, six months to year.
      Calleigh: And there's no guarantee?
Jake: No, there's never a guarantee. (pause) I was kinda hoping you would wait.
Calleigh : I feel like the last couple of months all I've been doing is waiting. It's terrifying, I mean, I wonder every day if I would see you again, if something happens to you, if I would know about it. I can't live like that.

    • Calleigh: How did you get out without being noticed.
Jake: I didn't. They are looking for me right now and if they found me, I'm dead.
Calleigh: That's an incredible sacrifice to make for the case.
Jake: I didn't do it for the case, Calleigh. I did it for you.
      Calleigh: Thank you.

    • Frank: Let's find out who did this, Calleigh.
Calleigh: As long as we are breathing, Frank.

    • Calleigh: I think I know who shot Horatio.
