  • the season 7 premiere starts off with a lot about Haratio (being dead and the Medical Examiner van) When the team find out that the person who shot H is closer to home than they think they get supersupicious.

This episode was well written and had a good storyline. In the first section after Calliegh said "we find out who did this, we find out" it went straight the scene of Ryan on his phone reading a message saying it was done i immediately suspect the shooting to staged by Ryan. Also the part before the theme where Ryan told Calliegh and Eric H was dead made me believe that he was really dead. Overall i was pleased with the quality of the episode and how tht Season 6 finale connected with the Season 7 premiere it was fantastically well written
  • Predictable but great none the less!

Did anybody really believe that Horatio Caine was dead? The answer is no. And it is answered about 10 minutes into this predictable seventh season premiere of CSI: MIAMI. The season begins with Horatio's body apparently being taken off in the M.E's truck and the team arriving on the scene. We soon learn (although we probably already knew!) that Horatio's death was just a plan to fool the people who wanted him dead. There are multiple good points of this episode: the return of Yelina Salas, loads of action (involving a shootout situation and a blowing up boat). But there is also the usual CSI MIAMI Horatio-characteurisms, and a lame ending!

In this episode of CSI Miami the following happens. We open this H's body being taken away after he has been murdered. Calliegh and Eric learn that Wolfe is involved. When they confront him he admits that H is still alive. It was all planned out, by Ryan, H and another officer. The team work hard to help H, out of his situation. H learns that the bullets are still on the streets and goes after them. H goes after Ron and Ron's boat explodes with him inside of it. Eric tells H that they have searched everywhere but they have not yet found Ron's body.

I told alot of people that H was just playing possum. How better to cath the guy that wants you dead than to be dead. I love these plot twists with fake deaths. CSI:Miami did it in a previous ep with H's brother and it was great. It was great this time. But, you also saw how mush H's team really cares about him because they were on the ball ready to string someone up for the death of their beloved leader. I also believe that the bad guy from this ep is not dead. I think he will pop up in a later ep this season. This was a great season premier.
  • Amazing!! I love this show!!

This was a great season premier. It did not waste any time getting to the action!! The scene when Frank and Eric are in the middle of the shoot-out was nerve wrackng. We finally get to see Horatio, still as great as ever! I loved the whole story line with Yelina going undercover to help Horatio. We didn't get to see Kyle. I wonder whats going on with him, and why did he have the gun in the season finale? Oh well. All in all, it was another great episode. Every bit worth the 3 month wait since last May.
  • The season started off with a bang.

This episode was really great. I knew FOR SURE that Horatio wasn't dead. he was the main character and if they killed him off, there wouldn't be a show anymore. So, when the episode started I knew Wolfe was in on it somehow, but I thought maybe he was guilty. But I loved the dynamic. They really had a reason for what they did to H. They explained and executed that very well. The writers did a great job with the other characters thinking he was dead. It was just, all in all, a really interesting way to bring about a new season. Really, really awesome episode!
  • What a conclusion, this season premiere was better than CSI: NY's. This one expanded the info in this ep. it was cleverly written!! A perfect way to kick off another great season!!

We find out Horatio Kane isn't really dead and went undercover to help the ATF FBI agent, to get the bullets off the streets, and we find out the bullets aren't only in the hands of Ortega's hands other gangs in the Miami area have them now, I do have to say it was slow in some parts, but overall it was a killer episode!! And, Horatio's ex-wife decides to divorce her husband the one selling the bullets to the people of Miami. But, as we all know this isn't over yet and I'm sure this Ron guy will pop up somewhere unexpected!! CSI: Miami really set upped their game for this one. I guess it goes to show you that even if your a team, not all the members are included in the secret. So far this series is making me want more!!

When I watched the closer for last season I actually had some high hopes for this show getting back on track. I thought it cool that H got shot even though I totally knew he wasnt going to be dead and I knew that Wolfe was not responsible and was working with H. But it was interesting and not cheesy and cartoony like most of the shows.

Over the last few seasons (since Speedles death) this show has steadily gone downhill. They got rid of the one character that added a bit was dirty unshaven realism to the show and then swamped it with a bunch of perfect looking super abs.

Horatio has now become a total characture. He spends half his time looking at his shoes doing Kirk impressions and the other half walking in slow motion or bending down on one knee while taking off his sunglasses.

The pseudo science in the show is laughable at this stage and there always seems to be a fragment of a leaf some plant that only grows in one place in Miami left at the crime scene.

I will probably keep watching this show but only out of habit more than anything else. The best thing they could do with this show now is put a bullet in it. And not in a 'they shot H but they didn't really' kind of way.

I new H wouldn't die. It was a plot so he could get to Ron. I was anxious for it myself. Now with no body to be found. Every episode will be keeping me on edge till he does finally find and eliminate Ron. I was wrong in thinking Ryan had anything to do with shooting H. But I still think Ryan is very sneaky and I still don't trust him. This is still my favorite show out of all the CSI's. I was glad to see that all the member's of the team were back, but Alex is still very much missed. Good job, and anxious for the next show.
  • The seventh season begins right where the sixth season left off. Devestated by Horatio's death, the team sets out to find the killer. Their investigation leads them to one of their own. But is everything as it seems?

While this season opener is better than ones of the past, it wasn't fantastic. It sufferes from being too predictable. I knew almost immediately that Horatio's assasination was staged which was why Ryan got the text message. Faked assasinations have been seen before on this show (Horatio's brother Raymond) so I am disappointed by the recycled plot point. That aside I did find myself being very entertained as the episode played out. So while I wasn't totally disappointed, "CSI: Miami" can do better and I certainly hope it does as the season plays itself out. Not great but worth it.
  • H is alive and well!

First of all, I knew that they couldn't kill H at all. Because no H means no Miami. And that everybody wanted to think that Ryan did it. Both Eric and Calliegh were in a state of shock. But Ryan says that they had to fake H's death. In order to bring down a shipment of guns and bullets. The scumbag husband of H's ex, Julie, didn't die also. Despite the boat getting blown up in the end. For he will be back before you know it. He might had known H was alive, plus, found a way out of this. Now he might go after H, Julie, and Kyle and really make sure that they are dead. Felt bad for Eric, being kept in the dark. As Ryan knew of the plans. Eric wished that he was in on it. But H had his reasons.
  • Horatio fakes his death in order to find the people who are flooding Miami with alloyed amunition.

    7.0
    "Good"
As far as season premiere' go, this was very lame. Anyone following the season six finale could figure out that Horatio planned to fake his death with help from Ryan and Yelina. The way Horatio's death was faked came straight out of a mystery novel and the suspense was nonexistent. It was unclear whether Jake or Ryan was the bad cop. Ryan was following Horatio's orders and Jake was undercover as a member of the Crypt Kings. Either managed to come off as dirty so they came across as good guys, especially Jake who risked his cover by giving Calleigh some guns used in a shootout. The only eventful moment in the show was between love birds Jake and Calleigh, who has to decide whether she is strong enough to forge a relationship with someone working undercover. There was alot of affection between them but some relationships just aren't meant to be. The Miami version of the show was intended to be lighter and more fun but somewhere between the end of the writer's strike and the start of the this season, the fire appears to have burned out for the writers and the actors. I can only hope that the next episode is more promising.
  • Good episode. I liked how Horatio staged his death and the direct continuation from last season's finale was great.

I thought the episode was great. Horatio's staged death was clever. I liked how Ryan was involved and the "It's done" text that he was sent made sense when he explained it to Calleigh and Eric.

The direct continuation of last season's finale's plot was great. Are they going to continue the fused alloy rounds storyline? Is Ron Saris still alive? I don't like Eric's temper in this episode. I do like his character, but he needs to calm down a bit.

It was about time that Julia told Ron she wanted a divorce. In my opinion, I would rather see Ron in jail.
  • Can Anyone Say Predictable?

    "Good"
Yeah, we had a cliffhanger for a season finale, but we all knew Horatio wasn't dead. The script as a whole was very predictble. I knew going in how the episode was going to play out however there were some bright spots. Horatio's Ex helping nail Saris was good as well as seeing Kyle siding with his dad. I also liked the meeting between Eric and Horatio in the parking garage. However, one thing that bothered me was no coversation with Calleigh and H, or Calleigh and Ryan. She at least owed him an apology for the lack of trust. I know in the past Ryan's had his issues, but come on he's worked his tail off to get back to the good detective that he is. Sneaking Yelina in was interesting. But overall as a season premiere a little disappointing. But that's Miami for you.
  • Nice continuation of the arc started last season.

    "Great"
This episode was a continuation of the arc started last season. It gives us a new 'mini-arc' bad guy and potentials for Horatio Caine to have more family issues.

While I was watching the last season on DVR during the broadcast season, I missed some clues as to what was going on. However, just before watching the season opener, I marathoned the DVDs of last season and picked up on them.

It was somewhat predictable but I'm ok with that as it appears to be setting up for a bunch of sub plot lines that will likely run throughout the season.

Overall, CSI Miami seems set to deliver on another good season. I don't mind episodes where they set up for future arcs, as long as there aren't too many in the season.

CSI Miami is my favorite show in the CSI franchise but CSI New York is a close 2nd vis a vis the franchise. I'm a bit worried about what CSI Las Vegas will be doing this season, but time will tell.

Overall, this is a reasonable episode, but I'm hoping they pick up on at least one of the arcs set up in the season premiere for this season immediately, like within the next couple episodes.
  • Cliffhanger Resolutions do not come much worse than this one!

    3.0
    "Bad"
This was, by far, one of the worst episodes of any show, let alone CSI Miami. It was choppy and porous. The first 15 minutes, were okay in their attempt to keep the apparent death of Horatio shrouded in mystery, but when it was revealed he was alive, everything started to unravel for the picture. If Horatio was trying to keep his living status a secret, why show up at the police station? Why was no one surprised to actually see him alive (Ylena, the ex-wife and son, Ortega)? And did the writers think that showing the difficulties Sarris had in getting the ammo back was not prudent to the story-line? We see him make one deal, nice and neat. Next we see him presumably after he made the other deals, looking like he had gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson. And Sarris is the only person in the show who seems to be surprised Horatio is alive? Give me a break.

The writers should have made this a two-episode arc. They should have kept the mystery of Horatio's status a mystery longer. They should have treated this like the cliff-hanger it was and not just another cut-to-the-chase episode. All things considered, this episode is evidence as to why CSI: Miami is the worst of the three CSI's, and is no longer on my list of shows to watch regularly.
  • Horatio is dead...no wait, he isnt!

    7.5
    "Good"
I must say I have been counting the days for this episode. After watching it, I must say I am disappointed. So we all pretty much knew H wasn't dead, but did it seem to anyone else like the reveal was kind of lackluster? And the events that followed weren't much more exciting. We had this big hint that someone in the department was a bad guy involved in all of this mayhem. Was that supposed to be Jake Berkley? They kind of lost me there. I suppose they were aiming the hint at Ryan, but most of us had figured out before this episode that Ryan was in on the whole death staging. I feel like they had to cram a whole lot of explanation and tie-ups into an hour of TV, and maybe that is where the problem is. Maybe this should have been spread out over 2 eps so things could be a bit more resolved. I love this show, but the season opener was a bit disappointing this time.
