The episode as a whole was pretty much a typical CSI Miami. We of course have Horatio being there ever dramatically hearing the dying officers last words. Sarnoff and The Russian mob has returned to put Yelina's life in jeopardy just so Horatio can come up and save her just in the nick of time, of course. Then we have the conflict between Eric and Calliegh regarding his father's involvement in the case and Calleigh's desire to keep Eric safe and employeed because he's crossing an ethical line. As episode closes we are left with the usual cliffhanger, Eric is shot, however this time he's missing and we're lead to believe that he's been shot by Calleigh.
In this episode of CSI Miami, the following happens. We open in a Miami prison and we see something being put into one of the lunches. The inmate takes his lunch and soon collapses in pain. He is then transported to a hospital, but on route the ambulance is attacked. The inmate turns out to be Ivan Sarnoff. During the attack on the ambulance, Ivan is freed as the ambulance is hit onto a train track, where we see a train is fast approaching. After the train hits the ambulance we see that Ivan is free, as he looks at the wreckage in front of him. And so he does what any other inmate would do, he takes the gun off of the prison guard, and shots at the only witness there, a police officer. But Ivan soon gets away. We also quickly see that Yelina is back and she throws a drink over H and so she is arrested for assaulting a police officer. But then we see that she is actually undercover. H tells her that she has to go back undercover and hands her a GPS tracker with a panic button. Soon the team believe that the Russians were not trying to free Ivan, but in fact they were trying to kill him. When footage from the crime scene is run by Calliegh she sees that one of the drivers involved, is Eric’s father. She confronts him about it; she also tells him that she won’t watch him cross the line with his father and the investigation. When Yelina is back undercover, she is immediately put in danger. She is told that she has to prove how loyal she is and so she is ordered to track down and kill Ivan by sundown, or else she will be killed. Through a friend of Ivan’s a meeting is arranged between Ivan and H. But before they can have a face to face meeting Ivan escapes. Yelina gets information of where the Russian are doing business, but when Wolfe gets there no one is there and H believes that now her cover has been blown. They soon get the true location and everyone heads there, and they are greeted by a huge shot out. As Calliegh keeps on firing, she shots at a car that is speeding away, and as she looks she sees that Eric is inside of the car and that he is the one driving it. Calliegh freezes unable to believe what she has just seen. Natalia follows Yelina on the GPS monitor and her panic button is activated and so H heads to the scene. The man lying on the floor dying admits that Ivan turned up and attacked him and took Yelina with him. The dying man asks for H to leave him, and so when H leaves he grabs the gun left on the floor from earlier puts it to his own temple and pulls the trigger. Soon H finds Ivan and Yelina and shots Ivan. Soon the car Eric was in and his father are found, but there is no sign of Eric. Calliegh soon arrives on the scene and runs towards the car. She is shocked when she sees the blood in the car and fears that one of the bullets she fired may have killed him. Calliegh soon becomes overwhelmed and starts to well up. She tells H that “we can’t lose him. H walks away and Calliegh starts walking and breaks down in tears. She may have accidentally killed the man that she loves and she can’t control her emotions. So what has happened to Eric? Guess I’ll have to wait until the fall to find out. But if Eric is dead, then I am out of this show!

OMG....this episode was so sad. First off, the whole Eric getting involved with his fathers problems, oh...and Calleigh telling him not was intense. Then when Ryan and Celleigh and the other officers had a shoot out with the Russians was cool. Calleigh shot that one guy in the sholder, and Ryan killing someone for the first time...(shocker). But when Calleigh shot the silver car with....OMG ERIC DRIVING... he was saving his father. Calleigh was staring at him as he drove away. OMG that was intense. Then at the end when Horatio shaw Eric's father and Eric...WHAT, MISSING!!!!! Then when Calleigh was walking away ans started crying, that was so sad. In season 8, i hope they find him cause he can't leave Calleigh, he LOVES her!!!!!
The seventh season ends with Russian mobster Ivan Sarnoff on the run after a dramatic prison break (During which a police officer and an EMT were killed.). Evidence surfaces that Delko's father was involved. Elsewhere, Horatio struggles to save Yelana.
For once, "CSI: Miami" has outdone "CSI" in the season finale department. "Seeing Red" was not the greatest finale I have ever seen, but it was well written, very entertaining and it keeps the viewer hooked until the end, which is more than we can say for the season nine finale of "CSI." One thing this episode did well was focus on the story and not get too sidetracked with the personal lives of the characters. We did see a little of that in the one scene when Calleigh confronts Erik with evidence of his father's involvment, but it worked.
Good news one heck of an episode. But here is the bad news, we will have to wait until the fall. In order to have all of our questions answered. Well, Calliegh really was trying to warn Eric not, to help out his dad. Despite how his dad but his own life, on the line when Eric was nearly deported last time. Still despite that, Calliegh tells Eric that his dad is involved with a gang. Meanwhile, Yelina's own life is in danger. And that she nearly gets killed after her own cover is blown. H is there to save the day. But is it too little too late to save Eric. Whom Calliegh is really disappointed in, after he goes missing. With his father, hurt in the passenger side and arrested along the way. Can't wait for the fall!
