    • This is the fourth time a police officer dies in a season finale. The first three ones were: 1. Episode 3x24 10-7, when Det. John Hagen kills himself in the firearms labs. 2. Episode 4x25 One of Our Own, when Officer Aaron Jessop is killed by a grenade boobytrap. 3. Episode 5x24 Born to Kill, when, while tranporting a prisoner, the truck has an accident, killing the officer that's driving the truck.
    • This was the second time Eric has been shot first in season 5 and for the second time in this episode.
    • The opening credits in this episode were different in two ways: 1) Megalyn Echikunwoke was removed from the credits 2) The music starts while Horatio was standing over the dead police officer. The camera follows him until he stands up with a determined look on his face, then the credits start. This was probably done to honor the fallen officer.
