  • Great episode, yet it's a storyline we've seen before.

I liked this episode of CSI Miami, but then again I like almost every episode of the show. This storyline is not unheard of and of course it was no surprise that it was the stand-in that was killed and not the actual star. They had a similar episode in season five, with a double being murdered. In that episode someone in the family was responsible, just like this time.

The mother revealed to the biggest fan that it wasn't the real star on the stage and well he killed her. However, I do like the real star, the real Phoenix. She was nice and so innocent. And she was kept drugged so that she wouldn't tell the press that she wanted to quit, all because her manager wanted money. Phoenix just wanted to get out of the fame and the media attention. The saddest part, of course, was the actual murder. The young stand-in that was murdered bascially because the mother and the fan decided to kill first and ask questions later. If they had just gone to the police or maybe asked the stand-in where Phoenix were, then she might have lived. If only. There are so many if only in life.

    Instead she was murdered.

The mother seemed so nice at first, but then she actually thought her daughter owed her because she had gotten rid of the stand-in, she became one of those mothers who want their children to be famous for their parent's sake and not their own. Overall, great episode, but still the same old storyline that we've seen before.
  • While performing on stage, pop star Phoenicks suddenly bursts into flames. It's soon discovered that the person who was incinerated during the performance was not Phoenicks, but a stand in. An interesting mystery indeed.

This episode treads on familiar territory. What helps this episode somewhat is the twists and turns the episode's storyline takes. When it's discovered that Phoenicks did not die on stage, I started asking myself questions such as, "Is Phoenicks still alive?" "Could she have faked her own death to get away from it all?" (A La "Eddie and the Cruisers."). I liked that because it helped keep my interest up. However there were some cliches in this episode (The evil manager who wanted Phoenicks to keep going at all costs, the mother who just wants to see her little girl).
