  • This episode is quite graphic and upsetting especially to younger viewers.

    6.9
As much as my family and I love CSi: Miami, this one was hard for us to watch. The first time it came on, I had to leave the room because it was so graphic when the team entered the house. I did rent it because I wanted to see it all the way through. For futher episodes, I would rather not see dead children although, unfortunately, we do see it in reality.moreless

  • Post-partem depression. A mom on the edge. A 6 month-old child. A shotgun.

    9.0
Confusing at first, but wraps up very nicely. In the beginning you are almost SURE that the mom has finally snapped and murdered her family, before turing the gun on herself. But, a MAJOR plot twist leaves you wondering, Was this really the work of a mom? Or did a dad mixed with sleepless nights lead to this? It kept me on the edge of my seat right up to the 42nd minute! The writers were definitely aware of a common problem and read up on their facts. DEFINITELY a great, very realistic, touching reminder of what your very own hectic house may be like.moreless
  • Slaughterhouse

    10
A young girl is found walking alone with blood all over her. Someone close to her was either dead or dying. She had a sunburn on one side of her facemeaning she had been walking in one direction. The girls bloody footprints and soil on the bottom of her feet lead them to where they are located. The boy was home sick. Amonia was on the gun cabinet door. Mom was depressed and believed to have shot her family. Luke put the baby in the doghouse. The baby had gravatational drops on him and thus the dad was the shooter.moreless
  • Incredibly difficult subject matter - a whole family (almost) gunned down - but one of the best episodes and it shows how good CSI is as a show.

    9.5
I realise others have found this a difficult episode to watch, especially as it involves dead children - but really that is the point. It's meant to be horrendous. Even the beginning, as a toddler wanders down the street with her feet obviously covered in blood is very disturbing.

The discovery of the rest of her family, all of whom have been shot, only one who stands a chance of survival, is brilliantly done. Again I take my hat off to the networks for showing some incredibly graphic scenes. You used to have to rent Friday the 13th to see this kind of stuff - not that I'm suggesting they should be everywhere, but if we're talking about a murdered family, then it's important to show that guns cause a heck of a lot of damage. Bit of SPOILER coming up

I'm not going to reveal, but It's not too difficult to work out the actual culprit of what's gone on if you're used to knowing there's likely to be a twist, but I did like the final revelation and then the even better revelation where a possible insanity plea is shown to be nothing like it, but actually a premediated plan.

Very satisfying, very sad - overall a great episode, but not one to watch while you're having dinner!moreless
