In this episode of CSI Miami the following happens. Calliegh and Wolfe head out to a crime scene and ends up inside of the house when it catches on fire. They manage to escape and take the dead body with them. During an interview with a possible suspect, Calliegh’s breathing becomes worse and she collapses into Eric’s arms. She is then rushed to the hospital, where she and Eric are met by Alex (their former M.E.). It really doesn’t look good for Calliegh. The team soon learn that the John Doe was a doctor, who also was addicted to heroin. Wolfe sends Eric the photo of the John Doe so that he can try and find someone at the hospital who knows him. Before he leaves he puts his watch on Calliegh’s arm. The team soon learn that the Doctor was stealing human organs. The team soon learn that one of the “donors killed the doctor. Back at the hospital, we see Calliegh coming round and as she looks at her arm, she knows Eric has been there for her. We then jump forward in time, and Eric has returned to Calliegh’s room in the hospital. When she comes round, we learn that she could hear Eric as she was in her coma like state, and she heard everything he said to her. She asks him to stay with her and he says he will for as long as she wants him too. At the end of the episode H and Alex have a chat about how things have changed and she invites him over for dinner with her family, to catch up.
  • Calleigh almost dies from smoke inhalation.

Great episode with multiple crimes tied together. First off Calleigh and Ryan are investigating a call about a bad smell coming from a house. They look around and it isn't until Ryan goes up in the attic that the body is found. They hear someone come into the house and start shooting through the ceiling at them and then catches the house on fire. Calleigh and Ryan barely escape but not before the damage is done.

The dead body that was found is a John Doe at this point, but it was determined that he was shooting heroin between his toes.

Later on while interrogating a suspect Calleigh begins to uncontrollably cough and then cant breath. She gets rushed to the hospital and is hooked up to a machine to help her breath; she is unconscious.

Another suspect is interrogated whose business card was found partially burned at the scene. He says he was only there looking for a deal on real estate.

They get a hit on the gun that was used to shoot through the ceiling at them. The gun belonged to a man name Ricky Gannon, who was also a heroin dealer. He confesses to shooting at Ryan and Calleigh and setting the house on fire. He identifies the dead man as "doc" because he is a doctor and gives him pharmacy drugs for heroin.

The dead man is identified as Dr. Donald Phelps. The investigation takes them to a large room with an operating table and traces of blood. After further investigation the CSI's determine that Dr. Phelps had been performing inlegal organ transplants.

One of the first people that the CSI's interviewed was brought back in because his fingerprints were on the case that transported the kidney that was transplanted into a man who died during the surgery. He told the CSI's where the body was.

The Medical Examiner was able to retrieve a piece of the transplanted kidney from the body of the failed operation. They ran the DNA through the system and it came back to the man whose business card they had found in the house where the original man was killed.

He had sold his kidney for transplant to someone else and his surgery was botched as well. He killed Dr. Phelps out of anger for messing up his surgery.

In the end Calleigh wakes up and Delco is the first person she sees. I think this sealed the deal between them.

This was a great episode with different crimes; murder, drug dealing, attempted murder, arson, and illegal organ trafficking all tying together to solve the murder.
  • Calleigh and Ryan are called to a house. When they get there they go into the attic and find a body. While they're up there, somebody comes in, locks them up there, shoots at them, then sets the place on fire. Ryan is fine but Calleigh inhaled too much.

Absolutely, by far, the best episode yet. It was amazing. Character developement was great. The storyline was pretty good too, although it seemed kind of unrealistic. I liked the return of Alexx in this episode. She was a great character and a wonderful part of the show. It just doesn't seem right without her, but she did play a terrific doctor. Horatio seemed kind of gone in this one, like he didn't really care as much as usual but i still love this show and all the characters in it. I do think it would be pretty interesting if Alexx came back for her old job out of nowhere. I hope next week can live up to the hype of this episode.
  • After escaping a fire that was deliberately set to destroy crime scene evidence, Calleigh collapses while interrogating a suspect and is rushed to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. Dr. Alexx Woods returns to help save Calleigh.

    "Great"
I will start by saying it was great to have Alexx back, even if it is for just one episode. She was a great character on the show and she has been missed. Aside from that there are other reasons why this episode is one of the better ones of the season so far. It has a very well written script, great suspense and great performances all around. Some of the scenes where Delko is expressing his love for Calleigh are a little goofy, but that is a minor flaw that is more than made up for. Very good episode.
  • Really great episode, and Eric shows feelings, for Calleigh!

This season, really hasn't gone that well. Most of it, has to do with the absence, of Dr Alexx Woods. Really everybody has missed her, talking with the dead. As though, that they were alive. Sure I like, the new person. But nobody can, ever take the place, of my Alexx. Glad to see her back, on one episode. Calliegh and Ryan are fighting for their lives. As a kid, nearly caught fire on them. Calliegh inhales way, too much smoke. And gets sent to the hospital. Despite the kid, it is the doctor that is the real villian. Who wants heroin. Eric really caring about Calliegh, and finally showing his true feelings for her. Hopefully, that will end up. Somewhere and somehow along the lines. Both would make, an awesome couple.
  • A new episode with a new plot put me on the edge of my seat.

    "Great"
I really enjoyed this episode. The intesity of the moments at the beginning of this episode was hotter than the fire burning in the kitchen. When Calleigh and Ryan climbed the ladder to the attic, everything was fine but the moment the front door slammed something was obviously wrong. The storyline progressed nicely with twists and turns. The creepy doctor and pharmacist were perfect for one another.

Eric and Calleigh's hospital scenes were touching. While I like them together, I am not the huge ship fan that some are. He clearly loves her and it was heartwarming after some of the jerks we've seen her with.

Alexx still delights. This storyline provides some continuity for previous episodes and confirmation she didn't just disappear.

My problem with the episode-- While I enjoy suspending belief and employing my imagination, I had a hard time with two things. Wouldn't either Calleigh or Ryan pick up their phone and at least send a text message for back up to hurry when they realized they were in danger in that attic? Also, is it really possible for people to either gain or give up a kidney and just walk away? That home didn't seem to have a space to care for the patients post surgery.

All in all, I really did enjoy this episode. The emotion and character development were top notch. The story was a new compelling tale. Even with the questions it posed, it will certainly be a classic episode worth watching again.
  • In conjunction with an intriguing story-line, the relationship between two characters is further developed...

Although most CSI episodes have more than one case being worked, this particular episode had only one case... which was put together like a jigsaw puzzle as each seemingly unrelated clue was found.

Of note, the relationship between Calleigh and Eric progressed in this episode.

I feel that this episode was masterfully written, and combined with a soundtrack that was enjoyably dark and morose... which stood out to me because the CSI sound usually doesn't go down that path.

In fact, if anyone can elucidate as to which songs were played during the episode, I'm sure many more people will find that information helpful!!
  • Great storyline + unqiue

this episode started out like a normal case with ryan and Calliegh investigating a dead body up in the attic of an abondened house, then the attic door slammed shut, nxt shots started ring out, this was unique and then there was a fire downstairs, this is happened contless times before on CSI Miami, where members of the CSI are nearly burnt alive.

However this time we know that calliegh is OK to start with, i first suspected something was wrong in the autospy room, i also liked it how she sounded drunk in interragation. Alexx also appears i the episode. It was great how it was written and even though the storylines are getting a lot more far fetched they still remain great. This episode was the second best i've seen this season.
  • When Ryan and Calleigh investigate a scene, they find body in the attic. In the course of their duties someone shoots at them then causes a fire. They escape but Calleigh is affected by the smoke. She is hospitalized and Alexx comes to the rescue.

The investigation itself was interesting, with everything leading from a heroin addicted surgeon, found dead in an attic, to his drug dealer, to the surgeon's assistant, who's helping run black market organ transplantation, then finally to the real estate agent who had complications from the organ removal surgery. I loved watching how Eric was so concerned for Calleigh's safety. It was kind of scary watching her have a delayed reaction to the smoke inhalation. Seeing her collapse during an interview with a concerned Eric by her side was agonizing. The reappearance of Alexx, who made sure she was there to treat Calleigh, was great. Watching Eric stay at her bedside and confess his feelings to her was, in my opinion, the best part of the episode. I thought it was fantastic that even in the midst of all his concern for her was able to joke with her when she woke up. All in all I think this is a great episode.
  • Where There's Smoke.

I love Calleigh going above and beyond but no more her risking that neck of her's, she is one of the main reasons why I watch the show. The get the kid that set the fire and almost kills Ryan and Calleigh but it leads them to a bigger problem a druggie doctor who sells prescriptions for heroin. While Eric stays at Calleigh's bedside, Ryan and Horatio find a makeshift operating room in a warehouse. Come to find out, it's a black market organ donor program. The bonus of the whole episode is the return of one of my other reasons for watching, Dr. Alex Woods. I just have one question, wouldn't it have been easier to have Eric's kit sent over from the lab than for him to play McGyver.
