  • A large group of people are cavorting at a hotel pool when a sudden solar eclipse occurrs (The first to happen in Miami in centuries). When the sun returns one man at poolside is dead. The victim of an apparent serial killer.

This attempt at a halloween related episode didn't quite work. While the episode did hold my attention to the end, I didn't find this episode all that entertaining. I think the plot element involving the character who has a wolf for a pet, and wants to transform himself into a wolf through hormone injections, is just plain rediculous. Just too implausible to be believed. Another character in this story, the female shut-in, works better. Also, the love story involving Calleigh was a distraction. If CSI: Miami tries another Halloween episode, I hope it works better on the next try.

  • It's Halloween but some silliness can't be overlooked...

A Halloween episode so you can expect a bit of silliness, but really.

First up, the solar eclipse: it takes hours for a solar eclipse to happen, unlike the sudden plunge into darkness shown here. And while all the bathing beauties simper "what's going on?" I can only think of Flash Gordon: "This morning's unprecedented solar eclipse is no cause for alarm!" Truth is, eclipses are big tourist draws; there's not a chance that even the dumbest of the dumb at the poolside won't have heard something about the forthcoming celestial event.

Alexx then gets poisoned by the body because it's full of drugs. Maybe she'll take more precuations with her protective gear in future. Or most likely, not.

But Wolfe is back! Yay Wolf. Finally another reason to keep tuning in to this poor season.

It seems the main suspect can't have committed the murders because he has a disease that means he can't go out in sunlight; the CSIs don't bother to research his condition to find that he can actually step outside without immediately blistering. Poor protocol.

One final word about the solar eclipse murder; it would be easier to commit a crime at night than during the eclipse for the reason I first mentioned. Eclipses take time and the totality lasts minutes. Did the murderer hover on the balcony for hours and then run down hundreds of stairs and over to the pool to commit the murder and then run all the way back in under three minutes?

Not much of a Halloween treat.
  • Loved loved loved this episode!

This episode had me sitting on the edge of my chair the whole time! It was good too see Ryan reinstated!

I'm so glad he's back, and Alex in the beginning of the episode, lol! She's amazing, love her!

The guy with the wolfe was quite scary actually, at least his eyes. Thye really had you guessing who the killer was, it never really suspected it to be Mr. Pike. But he really looked like a murderer once he was caught.

And it was a sweet moment between Jake and Calliegh in the end, quite sweet!

But I just loved the scene with Ryan and Horatio, aww!

The only thing that bothered me there was Horatio's "Its in your blood, isn't it?" and "If we don't hand together we die alone", It just seems silly to always talk about how everyting is in Ryan's blood, just silly sometimes.

And maybe that last line would have been better with something like "If we don't stick together we die alone", maybe?

Anyway, I love this episode very much!!
  • I hadn´t seen this show in a while.

Even though I hadn´t seen this show in a while, it still has the same magic and attraction that made me watch it for the first time.

I love how all the CSI talk about team work. Caine is right, if we don´t do it, we die alone. So the case is about an alleged werewolf and the curse of being killed during an eclipse. Even when they mention the possibility, at the end they´re scientists and they have to find, yes, the scientific explanation.

Since I´ve missed several episodes, I wish I could understand what is the deal with Delko and Calleigh. I always thought they look good together (even when she´s older than him). But I like how this CSI shows more of the personal lives of their characters than Las Vegas.

  • Great episode

I think this was a great episode because it made some statements. Ryan was back on duty, Calleigh is having problems with her relation, Delko must find himself another girl because Calleigh is busy with the detective. Here also showns that Ryan must be a good jobmate with the rest of the people, and stop being such an ass trying to be better than everybody. Delko must be friendly-er with Ryan, Natalia should become a field CSI entirely (we never knew what happened with her firing test)- There would be nice if sometime the cast homes are shown in the show, as they all are normal workaholic people......but at the end, great show

This is not a very good episode, but at least it's showing that CSI: Miami is getting better, after some disappointing episode in season 4, season 5 and "Dangerous Son". The first victim is murdered during a solar eclipse, and the CSI finds out the killer might be a mutant. As far as I concerned, I don't think scientist believe in mutant? Whatever. As the investigation go further, the CSI find out they are dealing with a serial killer. Wow! An average episode, not the best but still good. I love CSI: Miami now, I can't even believe I enjoy watching CSI: Miami! Congratulations to CSI: Miami, the show is getting much better now.

Well this one certainly failed as a Halloween episode and was barely passable as a run of the mill Csi Miami one as well. First off the serial killer during an eclipse was not frighting and the man who dreamed of being a wolf was equally disappointing. Another sad note being Calleigh and Jake are getting closer despite rumors the actor playing Jake was leaving the show. This one was a tremendous let down but passable. After all the characters were doing their usual csi thing and Alex falling flat after that awful melodramatic and overblown bad mojo thing was wonderful.
  • This show has become a joke

I just caanot beleive what I saw there, how stupid do the writers take their audience for?

It starts right at the begining of the show- a once in a lifetime event happens and the people look like they are surprised why the sun suddenly darkens. Then they all stare at it with no protection whatsoever (you need special shades in order not to burn your eyes and everybody has them who is expecting to watch a solar eclipse). Then the super cool computer with the sci-fi screen which can link any data whatsoever.

We have cool cops who wander around the beach in heels and their boss faces a truckload of explosives heading for a power plant alone, without the military or such.

Last week we had o boy who shot his victim with a sniper rifle from a couple of hundred feet away- from a boat, accounting for the side wind- right between the eyes.

I could go on forever how sutpid this is. I'd say it's aimed at teens who want a show where they can blink their brains out and just say "That's cool. I'd like to be this guy". Go watch CSI New York- the last episode featuring Second Life was, as far as I can tell, quite realistic. And the actors can do more than just be cool and pretty.
  • An uneven script backed up by overtly creative editing.

While the writers added just enough non-campy chills to let you know you're watching a Halloween episode, the story was less then exciting. On a positive note, Ryan was reinstated and Jake and Calleigh had no bitter feelings toward Eric for their breakup. I found the serial killer who killed during a solar eclipse was intersting, up to a point.

The writers clearly didn't do their homework regarding light sensitivity. Anyone who is sensitive to light is diagnosed with this disorder as a child, not an adult. The killer would have had to use special light bulbs and special blinds would have been put on the windows of his apartment to keep out the sunlight. I found his reasons for killing to be lame. I would have found the episode a bit more exciting if the writers would have explored why the female victim was confind to her apartmnent. Did she suffer from agoraphobia or did she too have a light sensitivity disorder? Her lack of background made me feel as though her character was created as an afterthought. The creative use of the editing was distracting at times and some of it was unnecessary. My hope is that the writing will improve for November sweeps but I'm not holding my breath. This show is slowly loosing my interest with each episode.
  • Not really my cup of tea!

    "Good"
This episode really wasn't my cup of tea. Though it was a Halloween themed episode coming up just for that. But to be honest, the reason I didn't give it a low grade was due to the fact that a lot of good things happen. Ryan gets reinstated and tries to tell Alex, whom the only person that seems to understand him. But passes out over something. Meanwhile, Calliegh & Jake split up. But it was coming I thought. Even though I am probably one of the few that likes Jake as he doesn't seem to be a bad guy at all. Ryan thanks H for getting him reinstated as he should as H pulled a lot of strings for him.
  • Serial killing during an eclipse...guy tries to turn into a wolf...Alexx has a bad mojo ...all in a days work...Halloween episode.

    9.2
    "Superb"
It seems that CSI Miami does not do Halloween episodes terribly well. However, if you watch the episode without thinking about the background too much - it is fun. Alexx has a bad mojo, a killer who literally cannot bear the light of sun, A nut-job who tries to turn himself into a wolf....Very Halloween...

On a more serious note...Calleigh and Jake split up and Ryan is reinstated.

The best lines are delivered by Frank Tripp...'It is what it is, it ain't what it ain't." This is a refreshing point of view to take nothing to seriously.

Ryan thanks H to have gone to bat for him....H counters with a rather strange "If we don't hang together, we die alone."
  • This episode was boring. The only interesting part was when Ryan got reinstated and went to tell Alex and found her passed out. (may contain spoilers)

    "Mediocre"
This episode was boring. From the very beginning, you already know it's not an animal. Because you see the killer's arms strangling the guy. But when they find the body there's blood all over his neck as if a wolf did it. They also run the DNA from the scene and find that it's mutated, part human and part wolf. They start to suspect that the killer is some kind of werewolf. It turns out that one of the suspects has the animal. And that he had seen both victims. He saw the guy after he was already dead and stole from him, while the eclipse was going on. And he met the girl while chatting online. she let her last name slip and he looked her up. When he showed up at her house she told him he had to leave. This was the worst episode ever!!!
  • As usual Great concept/script idea LOST in all the Glitz , no wonder its so popular

Used to like the show, the concept, the acting, the only thing I like about it now is the way the main character still cares about his staff the victims and especially the victims next of kin (children)

What I don't like is that we should be calling this season Miami CSI the year 2015 , come on this is ridiculous, Heratio and is team might as well be shooting Ray Guns at their prey…That girl in the lab throwing her hands around on a screen , up and down getting info Bill Gates can only get at his Mansion…, the music interludes while computers do all the work is fine but please do not insult the intelligence of viewers with all the ridiculous editing , it works for 24, but that last shot of the "ballistic chick" and her main guy holding hands , come on ???? 24 shows different sub-plots, as a way to come together, Miami CSI 2015 shows hot crime techs in high heels with guns on their hips actually bigger than their forearm, does anyone agree that this looks ridiculous??
  • Liked the concept, script was okay.

I've continued to watch Miami due to the CSI basis. The script was a great concept. The affects of an allergy to the sun from a murders perspective. Ultimately his envy of what his victims were taking for granted caused his capture. I thought the "link" to Halloween was a bit of a stretch and not really necessary. You could have taken the whole "werewolf" out of the script and I think the script would have been even stronger. I liked how Piked "picked" his victims, interesting concept. Delko as usual was the bigger man. Ryan's thankful to be back and I think has definitely learned a very hard lesson, one that won't soon be forgotten.
