  • A wealthy real estate developer is murdered at his home during a lavish party hosted by his wife. The investigation takes a number of surprise turns including the fact that the victim's wife has not one but two identical twin sisters.

Despite having a plot as nutty as a Christmas fruitcake and some logic loopholes, "Triple Threat" is the best episode of CSI: Miami this season. The season has been sub par for the show so far and "Triple Threat" has helped get things back on track I'm happy to say. Leslie Bibb does quite well as the devious triplets. Eva LaRue gives her best performace to date. It's good to see Natalia Boa Vista take a primary role in an episode of the show rather than a back up person as she normally is. Way to go Natalia!

  • Triplets, seeing double, and making doubles.

Well, this episode was certainly interesting. Poor Eric, seeing double when he was doing the blood markers. Man, the confrontation between he and Ryan was tense. I'm claiming Switzerland because I really can't make my mind up on who to feel sorry for the most.

I knew the title had something to do with the girls when we saw Ashley had a sister. Finding out that they were really triplets wasn't totally surprising but it was a good effort.

Now, finding out the husband had a double really threw me. That was good. Very original for our slowly failing writers. I like this episode. It was good.
  • Not a bad idea, but...

We just got this episode in Japan,so my review is later than most.

It worked pretty well until the end, when it was revealed that the baby was born by C-section. The women were shown a picture in a magazine of Ashley in a bikini, with no scar...bit 'ah-ha!' moment...we knew Ashley wasn't the baby's mother. It was used to corner the women into confessing who the real mother was. But...but...when the baby weight is off and the women switch places again, the husband isn't going to notice that his wife's scar has mysteriously disappeared? A disappointing bit of dumbness right near the end, right when you've bought the rest.
  • A very wealthy tycoon is murdered while at a dinner party. The first suspect is his wife. The plot thickens when the victim isn't who the CSIs thought he was. It all comes down to the fact that things aren't always as they seem.

This episode made me want to continue watching CSI:MIAMI. I thought that this particular episode's plot was quite clever. The twist with the double being murdered instead of the real guy was pretty cool, actually. At first I was in awe, then I realised it actually does happen. There were some obvious goofs, however, but I guess if a guy is distracted enough he wouldn't notice certain things. For example, he didn't notice that his wife, after "having given birth" didn't have stretch marks? I dunno.

Overall, though, the episode was very good and the actors were quite believable (I can't say the same for every episode).
  • There's another sister!!

One of the best I've seen so far this season. The next best was No Man's Land. I was truly gripped by the plot so much that Horatio's cheesy one-liner at the beginning of this episode was hilarious: 'Its as cold - as ice!'. Who would have thought murderous triplets. I mean the twin thing was tolerable but the triplets! Wow and the cloned man and the pregnancy, trip to Africa made this what it is and that is outstanding. The ending was fantastic with the triplets walking out one by one with the man who was supposed to be dead but they killed the clone, staring at htem with his son.
  • who would have thought...twins..no triplets

Well it all starts at a party...the wife downstairs in the garden giving a speech..the husband upstairs getting ready..then Champagne corks pop and a body falls from the balcony and lands on a very nice pointy ice sculpture.

Cannot see why in Miami you would have an ice sculpture outside in the sun and heat...but then i dont write the scripts...

You immediately think...the wife did it...but she was outside giving a speach..so how could she???!!!

Ah but the team find out that there are twins.

Also the husband wasn't the husband it was his stand -in (he had had plastic surgery to look like the husband so that he could take his place so the real husband could get work done) blah blah blah....in the end the twins are acutally triplets...and they all wanted the husband dead so that they could get all his money..and somewhere in between one of the triplets had his baby...

    the end.
  • Well, it was murderous triplets. Only on Miami!

It's the most random show ever, but I love it. Something that does annoy me though, Miami has the majority of their ctrimes starting at a party full of wealthy people. Why are they all rich and beautiful?!

Anyway, to the point. This episode was great. I mean, it was OTT and hard to believe, but still, great. What else do you expect on Miami? I knew the triplet thing was coming because of the title, and it was done really well. Natalia had some great lines here. Horatio smiled. HE DID! Finally. Great for Calleigh, as per usual (she really needs and end of season story arc) and I liked the continity with Delko's insecurity and Ryan relating to him.

    Miami getting back on track!
  • Plot begins to thicken!

A wealthy businessman is murdered or so you think that he is when his wife who is hosting the event is made a prime suspect. But there is a twist to this as she is one of three twins and Natalia has the best line "If it is any comfort to you ladies, you all are going downtown!" That was very funny. The businessman however isn't all that he appears to be. As that was a lookalike. The plot begins then to thicken.
  • Murderous triplets! Cloned victim! Talk abou jumping the shark!

    "Abysmal"
Talk about jumping the shark! This is so silly! Are the writers running out of ideas? Or are they just going bonkers over the impossible, improbable, altogether stupid? Come on! The rich guy's got not only a trophy wife, but she has two identical twin sisters! Wait, there's more! The guy himself has a clone, a doppelganger, a simulacrum... whatever! Meaning he had another guy alter his looks to be his deadringer. Shark approach! This plot was so insane even Horation smiled and it wasn't at the cute little baby. Shark attack! Prepare to jump! Hoopla! Shark jumped and no mistake!
  • Much improved over the last episodes. A new twist on an idea that has been done before. Very good!

The twin thing has been done before, but I didn't mind that when I first found out that the woman had a twin. It did make it more interesting to find out who did what. These girls were obviously great actresses (their characters) and were so used to lying to the people around them. And then the third sister walked out! Holy cow! That one actually surprised me. CSI Miami is starting to regain some of the appeal it lost.

While it may seem handy to always have a 'stunt double', its much better to go through life as yourself I think.

I am still mad at how they are handling Eric's situation. He is a HUGE liability. Think of the lawsuits any and every criminal would start filing if they knew a brain damaged CSI worked on their case. If Ryan could have lost his job due to compromised vision, what about someone who had a bullet in his head. Sure he may have to start new with some things, but come on! He would have to go through months of rehab or classes to catch back up before going into the field.
  • A rich man hosting a charity event is killed in view of his wife, the media and the entire party. The man is actaully a look-alike and the wife is one of a set of triplets. No one is who they seem to be even to those closest to them.

    8.3
    "Great"
Not only was this a well-written episode, it revealed another facet of the science used by CSI's. Blood work is not just about DNA markers. All the characters (suspects and vistims) turned out to be the opposite of what was first thought about them. The rich guy valued family and love. The helpful assistant was a cold-blooded killer. The wife who appeared to love to do charity work was a gold-digger who, with her sisters, lived multiple lies with no remorse or conscience. Even the guy killed in the opening who was thought to be the husband had plastic surgery to act as his double. They all had their price and only the husband is seen in the end holding the thing that mattered to him the most... his son.

Bravo! Even the main characters did some learning and growing. Wolfe empathized with Delco's minor confusion with the blood drop markers. Natalia sure did outshine the triplets who fooled the public and the husband. She was especially highlighted in this episode. Great job.
  • H knows how to smile !!! he did it !!!

    "Superb"
Best episode so far on S5, really great to watch. we already know that they were three women but how the Csi's found was really interesting !!!

The girls were great, they played the csi's very well and the husband too!!! That's creepy the way they changed each other to sleep with the husband and i was so glad to see how he played them too!!! (even if he didnt meant it)

The event of the day is that H can smile :) we saw in his eyes how he loves the children the last scene was beautiful i think it was the real david caruso that we saw!!! anyway great epi after the two lames ones keep going TPTB you're almost there.
  • This episode as a whole was the best one in about two months. Still have some work to do, but getting back on track.

I knew Eric’s double vision in the opening scene would come into play with the whole “Triple Threat” scenario. Ashley Whitford, being a twin, probable triplet without hubby knowing then to have Dominic Whitford having a look-a-like and even his wife not knowing initial thought was this could actually good. Pretense of the script was a good but a little bit all over the place. The juvenile part of this script is the whole pretense is high school twins/triplets switching places, covering for each other. The whole stolen money from Neil Massey, to the real mother of Noah, to the triplet killing the look-a-like was pretty ingenious. Then watching them turn on each other. In the end Eric’s hunch pays off and he gets back some of his confidence. The looks on their faces when they found out Dominic Whitford was still alive was classic. The whole Josh killing his predecessor was total filler. Not necessary to say the least. Note: I made be the only one who thought so but the actors playing Ashley, Cayla & Beth [as a blonde] looks very much like Bridgette Wilson Sampras. Note: One of these episodes I need to count how many times David Caruso uses that classic hands on hips stance.
