A mentally impaired man is the only witness to a murder. He says he saw everything. A young African American girl is found in the boonies. The killer is suspected to be a fitness trainer. He backed into the vics car so another car took place. With another shooter. The father bought the body and has her on the property. The dad put her in the wine celar. The father proclaims that she fell. The mother's sister (the mistress) pushed her because she found out. The shooter was the other man's partner. He shot the gun. The suspect called from the cell and told him and he beat Eugene. The mistress killed her. Colton was shoes, not a name.
I appreciate Horatio's emotional and loyal part. In this episode there is a guy whose mental age is not average. His name is Eugene and he is a key witness for Horatio. After some talk with him, Horatio befriends with Eugene. He wants to help H to solve the crime. Tha bad guy beats to death Eugene. Horatio pushes the limits for revealing the truth and also partner's revenge. Yeah, Eugene and Horatio become partners in this episode. At the hospital, there was a lot of emotion and sadness. Eugene is a good guy who wants to feel helpful at least once in his lifetime. And at the end H gives to him his badge. I wish the writers didn't kill him.
A mentally challenged man witnesses a murder of a diamond dealer the witness refers to as "Colton". This turns out to be the brand of sneaker the killer is wearing during the murder. As a sidebar, the lab loses a body of a teenage girl in transport.
In this episode we, again, see a side of Horatio we often see when he is dealing with a child. We see a caring person who really, truly empathizes with and cares for a person and what they are going through. In this episode, "H" is dealing with Eugene, a mentally challenged adult who has just witnessed a murder of a diamond dealer. Eugene throughout refers to the killer as "Colton". We come to find out that Eugene, because of his condition, thinks that Colton is the name of the killer although it is really the brand name of the sneakers the killer is wearing and that is what Eugene remembers and his brain processes. Anyway, "H" befriends Eugene in a special way as he does in many other episodes where children are involved. It is a side of Horatio I, particularly, love to see once in a while. It kind of turns out to be a real "tearjerker" even up until the final scene where "H" places a badge on the body of Eugene representing that he was, in part, his partner throughout the whole ordeal. He is really following up on a promise that he gave earlier in the show that assured Eugene that he was going to be his friend and partner until "They" found the killer together.
This was one of the more emotional episodes of CSI: Miami that I can remember, but I loved it! I felt so awful for Eugene, but in the end, Horatio made everything right for the poor man! I loved to see this more heartfelt side of H, too.
I also thought the storyline with the other murder victim was quite creative - the idea of someone selling off the body just to hide marital problems was indeed different!
Overall, I loved this episode - Eric showed a more aggressive side to his personality, and Horatio showed the softer side. I loved the scenes with Alexx, too, I wish she was more prevalent throughout the episodes!
I Loved the Interaction between Horatio & Eugene, he Treats Eugene like a normal human being and not like a kid or someone with special needs. This episode is such a tear jerker because Eugene gets Beaten up by Colton and ends up dying from his injuries, the sad part for me was when horatio was with him in the hospital and Eugene said "We're Partners" the tearjerker part is when Horatio got the news of eugenes death then claiming the body from the morgue just watching that scene with horatio talking to eugene's body and putting his badge on the body then saying "I know I am" When he said His dad would be proud of him I Just Cried. I still cry at that scene watching it on dvd.
A diamond broker carrying two million dollars in merchandise is murdered after his car is hit by another vehicle. The only witness is a mentally challenged man named Eugene who says the killer is someone named Colton.
Eugene insists on helping Horatio out, but he knows that he can't use Eugene as a witness, so he goes looking for more evidence.
Eugene gets beaten by the murderer & dies in the hospital but not before Horatio promises to catch the killer & tells Eugene that they are partners.
Speedle and Delko investigate the death of a teenage girl discovered at a rest stop with a broken neck. The body doesn't make it to the morgue & is stolen by her father who doesn't want his wife to find out that he was having an affair with her sister.
As always there are two good stories: first there is a dimaond courier who gets shot and Horatio goes after a smash&grab couple. Second one is about a girl who was murdered then dumped and that story was short and twisted.. I think the most important element in the show was the mentally challenged "Eugene" character who witnessed the crime with diamond courier. I think Horatio makes it special showing trust and being supportive to some "retard" who we would just wave off.. Unfortunately at the end Eugene meets with his demise in a really brutal way which makes it pretty emotional, but that is one core feature of all these stories that dead people tell.. Another well done episode, just why I love CSI:Miami.
