  • Mac and Stella investigate the death of a woman at a UN sponsored French revolution themed party. Elsewhere, on her first case back on the team Lindsay (along with Danny) investigate the murder of a popular New York City restauranteur.

This episode is disappointing and uninteresting. I never really became involved with the story of this episode or with any of the characters or the story. I will say that one positive aspect of the episode was how the story about the murder in the wine cellar turned out. Nobody could have seen that coming. The story about 15 year-old Evie is just plain dull. How do you make an appealing story about an unappealing person? It just doesn't work. Hopefully this episode will be the one dark spot on a great season of CSI: NY.

  • Lol, fashionable cockroaches. Yum.

Well, the title was certainly explained. Wow, Evie really had us all going and had Luthor arrested. I wonder if it had anything to do with the way she was brought up? The French Revolution scenes were cool and very accurate. You know, if you don't mention the fact she's loaded, it's hard to believe a 15 year old girl was the one hosting the event.

The Deputy of Detectives dude was annoying. I kind of thought something was gonna happen when Sheldon touched her head wound. Lol, I love it when Mac plays politics. He's so funny in a very serious way.

"So he was screwed to death.

I'd give it a 6.5 at best. The landing was a little shaky." Okay, there's no way I'll ever get tired of watching CSI: NY if these two dweebs keep coming up with such ridiculous comments. I really hope bugs aren't the latest fad because there'd be a lot of peeved off girls, 'cause I'd be squishing every one of them if that happened. The idea was very cool, though. He was killed because of a roach. Well, Danny and Lindsay were right, people do die because of lesser things than their salaries.
  • Lindsay's back in business! ROACH BROACHES ARE THE NEXT BIG THING because the cockroach is the unofficial mascot of the NYC. Hehehe. ;P Maria Antoinette?

I love the flirting goin' on with D/L in this episode. Mon-tana. Mes-ser. :D

The cases in this episode are so awesomely cool.

First the guillotine one with the sneaky girl and then the cockroach one, MY FAVORITE. Hehehe.

Danny and Lindsay are already off flirting while investigating the 'wine' case. "My favorite kind of wine is BEER."

Roach Broach-A Girl's new best friend...

Then when they get to the lab, the roach talk comes in, along with the 'We're more than beers and buffalo burgers, Mes-ser.' comment.

Lindsay is so smart in dealing with the wine.

Is it just me or do Danny and Lindsay both have this nack for leaving one another without goodbyes. Like here, Lindsay leaves and like in "Stuck On You" when Danny abandoned Lindsay to go inside the club thingy.

    Hahaha. :P
  • Bugs and people trapped in guillotines... Just another day in New York.

*The opera music at the beginning freaked me out momentarily. For a second, I thought my CBS station had screwed up and was airing Murder Sings the Blues again! I was about ready to cry!

*That whole guillotine thing was freaky. FREAKY. And did anyone else get ticked because a) they thought Simone was going to be beheaded and she wasn't and b) everyone kept mispronouncing 'guillotine'? Or was that just me?

*No one was half naked! YAY! Is that a record? A whole episode and not one half-naked person?

*Dude. Flack's tie was just hideous.

*They totally stole my diplomatic immunity idea! Who rocks? This girl.

*Gerard is a tool. I don't like him. However, I suspect that his new promotion will mean he's going to be around a lot more.

*Every time the scene switched, I went, "D/L!"

*"Good to be back." - Hey, at least they acknowledged that she was gone. That's something, right? No long, drawn-out explanation, but a little something is better than absolutely ignoring the fact that she was gone for three weeks. Especially since, while she was gone, they acted like she never even existed.

*Flack knows wine? Priceless! I love episodes where Flack actually knows something, because usually they make him look kind of clueless.

*Danny's comment about his favorite type of wine being beer... Did he NOT order a bottle for him and Lindsay the night they were supposed to have dinner? And when Lindsay said, "Danny's knowledge of wine is the house chianti," how does she know that? ;) Just a little something to think about.

*"My favorite kind of wine is beer."

    "Screwed to death."

"What exactly was this chef cooking last night?"

    Oh, Danny, I love you.

*It's great to see D/L back in top form. I wasn't expecting any kind of 'romantic' gestures between the two of them, but I was very pleased to see a return to the friendly, flirtatious banter that was present most of S2. That, I think, is the true dynamic of their relationship, and the fact that TPTB have gone back to that shows that, whatever happened in Montana after they faded to black in 318 made sure that Danny and Lindsay made long strides into repairing their relationship after all that *ahem* unnecessary angst.

    May I just say... SQUEE!

*Lindsay's face when she realized that she was holding an emerald was priceless.

*They got new evidence envelopes I see. They're white, and they say DNA. Remember the plain old manilla envelopes?

*The blood on Hawkes's gloves was enough to run a tox screen? Seriously?

*Dude... Lindsay is totally checking Danny out in the scene where she explains the cockroach. Totally. I caught at least two instances of her sneaking a peek. *giggles* I love it. LOVE IT! Plus, the frequent glances they exchange... Eye sex, baby. Pure and simple. No more of this avoiding each other - they're looking at each other full on. Do or die. D/L OR BUST!

*The touching of the small of his back is such an intimate gesture. I had a mad gigglefit after that little bit. It's so little, but it's SO MUCH, too. She could have touched his shoulder. She didn't have to touch him at all. But she did. That says a lot.

*I love how Danny adopts an accent when he says 'Montana'. It's cute because it's kind of a twang, and I don't know if that's really how they talk in Montana, but the fact that he was doing that... I don't know, maybe it was an indication of how long he was there?

*The D/L interaction is BACK, baby! Now just give me a scene like this - one scene, all I'm asking - every week, and I'm set!

*Okay, Mac seriously broke some protocol. You'd think Gerard would have, I don't know, put up a bit more of a fight. Especially considering his attitude in 311 and the beginning of this episode. Also, isn't he technically Mac's boss now? I'm just saying. And, actually, this isn't the first time Mac has broken protocol. And for a Marine, who's so by-the-book, that seems a little, I don't know, out of character? Or is that just me?

*Wouldn't you notice the blood spatter on Cooper's hand right away? I mean, that right there is an indication of murder, but he's been in the morgue two days.

*"We're not all beer and buffalo burgers, Messer." And OH MY GOD, THAT SMILE!!! I JUST ABOUT DIED!!! It's a total, 'that's my girl'-type smile, too. He's all giggly over his Montana. I so need a cap of that.

*By the way, I love that he's back to calling her Montana. I kind of missed it this season. He usually called her Lindsay, except once or twice.

*When they're talking about the labels and she just walks away, he goes, "Well, let me know!" It reminded me of 214, when he follows the trail of glue into the club and she just goes, "Okay, bye!" So funny.

*Danny said 'boom'. Twice. In one scene.

*Oy with the puns already. Seriously... They're a BIT out of hand.

*There are three types of tears? Are you kidding me?

This is where I stopped taking notes, so I have to go on memory.

*EW. BUGS. NO BUGS. BUGS ARE BAD. That was just creepy. Creepy creepy CREEPY.

*Lindsay had a gun! I love seeing Lindsay with a gun, you almost never see her with one.

*I loved loved LOVED the expression on Danny's face when he's like, "You killed this guy over a cockroach?" It was just the perfect Danny WTF face. I so need a cap of that, too.

*Oh... So the bodyguard dude did it? But it was really the little girl's fault? Whatever.... D/L IS BACK!!

Did I say enough? Did I squee enough? That episode was just... I can't even really describe it. It feels to me like NY is finally FINALLY back on form! After 304 I felt the quality of the episodes slipping a bit, and maybe it was because of the lack of Anna or what, but now I think it's getting back to the way it used to be.
  • Lindsay is back, and we learn more about fashion.

    9.5
    "Superb"
This was a really nice episode. Finally Lindsay is back in New York, and she was great. She looked much happier and more relaxed.

    The cases:

    1) The cockroaches: Ew, cockroaches are fashion? That's weird. But the case was really interesting. It was nice to see Danny and Lindsay working together again, and seeing them with Adam was nice as well. I especially loved Lindsay's 'We're more than beer and buffalo burgers, Messer.' and Danny's look after that.

So, the guy killed the chef to save a cockroach..... Alright. We always learn something new......

    2) Marie Antoinette: This was great, too. I love how Stella solved the case and found out Evie was lying because of her tears. But the girl was really scary.

Great episode, great cases and DL!
  • Lindsay goes back to work....

    9.2
    "Superb"
I loved this episode, I liked the evolution of Danny and Lindsay's relationship. They came back to the teasing and the flirting.

Case 1: Marie Antoinette: That little girl is really scary...She managed to manipulate a lot of people to do whatever she wanted and left without punishment! Original and well written...Sociopathy it's not a delict...

Case 2: Roaches: Wonderful!! Not just because of Danny and Lindsay working together. Screwed to death? LOL!! And that at the end everything is just a roach lover that killed a man to save a roachbroach? Brilliant! Funny to the fact that a roachbroach exists...I would never understand fashion...

Funny moments: 'My favourite kind of wine is beer', Roachbroach moment, Lot's of 'Montana', nipple marker, 'we are more than beer and buffallo burgers, Messer..'

    Great chapter!!:D

Lindsay Monroe is back from Montana! Welcome back Lindsay, Danny misses you. The first case that Lindsay investigate after returning from Montana, is the death of a man with a cockroach found in his mouth. What word to describe this episode-disgusting. Meanwhile, Mac, Stella and Hawkes investigate the death of a French woman whose body aren't allowed to be move due to political issue. Great. A fine episode with nothing surprising. Usually CSI: NY gives us something new, but this episode is just normal. But I still love it, although Danny's case is very disgusting. Great, awesome and exciting episode. Welcome back again, Montana!

At a French Revolution themed fund raiser at the UN, specifically at the French consulate, Mac, Stella and Hawkes find themselves hurdling diplomatic road blocks investigating two murders leading to an unexpected suspect. Meanwhile, Danny and Lindsay reunite on a "blinged" out cockroach that lead to murder of a prominent chef.I found this episode to be a very strong storyline and abit discusting with the cockroaches yuk there not very nice insect and when it crawled out of that chefs mouth it went through me. This episode was another great episode to the series. We are a bit behind everyone else in episodes in England but thats not a surprise.

The CSI New York team must investigate a murder case that took palce during a french revoultion case. there was reasons for the murder including the switching of expensive wine and a roach broach. the person who killed the man had the wine posion so that he could get revenge on him for switching the expensive wine with a cheap imitation. this was a very odd episode espaecally because of the roach broaches and the guy who kept all the roaches at his house for the same purposes. even though it was a strange episode it was still a good one.
  • The show had the introduction of Louise Linton as Simon De Lille. It also had the outstanding jurisdictional issues relating to the United Nations.

    9.6
    "Superb"
The episode had a fantastic duel plot which kept the viewer entertained throughout the show. It centered around interesting jurisdictional issues that were unique to New York City. My hats off to the legal team that navigates the complex legal issues. The show also had the introduction of Louise Linton who played Simon De Lille, the french tutor. Louise Linton played a very difficult role as she did the entire performance in a great french accent and she was a trooper to film the guilletine scene for hours stuck in that onerous device. The costumes were sensational as was the acting.
  • mmmmmmmm...

This was a seriously awesome episode. The case Mac, Stella and Hawkes handled was pretty twisted and the end result quite unexpected and scary - in a way. and there was Flack on the case - yippee!

And then there was the other case. the one with bugs. cockroaches specifically. this one was even more twisted then the "poisoned under a guillotine" that Mac handled. and Flack was on it too. double yippee!!!

but the best thing about this episode was the fact that DL was back. they had a case together. they were together during the bigger part of their screen time. and they were as amazing as ever. flirting. bantering. even touching. not intimate but comfortable. what a joy for a shipper. Carmine and Anna seriously rock.

Danny and Lindsay work together on the death of restrantuer who died with a bejewled bug in his mouth yes very grosse. They also found out that people pay over $100,000 for a jewelled out cockroach totally not worth it and the killer was a cockroach enthusiast

The main story was that Mac and Stella worked a u.n case where the victim was found dead in a french revolutions party in the guilitine but was in fact poisoned and evie turned out to be a manipulative psycopath and a very beleiving one at that.

Also Mac had to deal with the deputy of detectives and the office politics which he decides to get around i allready heate this deputy of detectives bloke. Also no mention of Stella's H.I.V status in this epi maybe it will feature in the next one

This episode looked good in the preview but was disapointing. The episode didnt contain the right twists and turns they could have used. The premise was good but unfortunally they didnt meet up to my standerds. I didnt even find this episode entertaining at all! Possibley the worst episode of csi ny I have seen. I hope the rest of the season isnt as lame as this

Skip this episode trust me. their is nothing good about exept maybe the cockroachs sin that guys apartment. Weird to see csi ny bring up such a bad episode after this wonderfull season

    The ending was creepy :S

Don't you just love Mac when he kind of reminds

Me of Horatio from Miami as both won't put up

With either politics or the feds even to get the job

Done right as one of the feds came off annoying as Sheldon

Touched her head wound with suspicion on it. Not my favorite but Mac and Sheldon hold this episode up well.
  • The teenager as a sociopath

Ok adults being played by a teenager was a little out there. And can you really determine that the girl was faking by the tears she was crying? Why did those people continue to work for the family if that girl was so toxic? The roach jewerly was just disgusting. And the guy with all the roaches in his apartment made me want to spray my entire house with raid.

After waiting with much anticipation for this episode, I am glad to say that it made me extremely happy! Now, I don't have the time and the inclination to be very coherent, and I'm sure other more dedicated reviews will fill in the gaps. But AWH. How very cute was the DL dynamic? It seems as though TPTB have allwoed us a little trip back down memory lane (or to season 2 at any rate) and we're pre-angsty again. Which is good. Cases, well, UN murder looks like it's the beginning of a nasty arc for Mac and possibly Stella, though I hope TPTB don't treat them too badly =) The roach broach thing was just great.

    I loved it!

  • I liked it. It was pretty good.

    8.5
    "Great"
Ok, seriously. I hate it when they do this. It's just like the episode "All Access". 'Something huge happened last week, so let's totally ignore it and pretend it never happened! :D' I am talking, of course, about the Danny x Lindsay action we think we have going on. Or is it? All I know is, I was hoping for a little more.

I'm not fond of that Deputy Inspector guy. Wasn't he the same man who threatened Danny in "Raising Shane"? That is one BIG no-no in my book. As far as I can tell, this guy is an dorkus who hates CSIs. Hopefully, he'll go the way of the 'Crime Scene Troll' from Season 1. My favourite wine is beer... lol....
  • Costumes and cockroaches made for an okay episode...

    8.7
    "Great"
This was not my favorite episode. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either...Possibly because of the cockroach gross out factor. The roach in the mouth reminded me of the rat in the mouth on CSI from way back when. Even though I knew what it was, it was still nasty. I can appreciate how Mac wants to find out the truth no matter what...the writers have done a good job establishing that he is some what of a zealot when it comes to the truth...and I don't mean that in a bad way, but I also think that he knows how to play the political game to a certain degree, so I found his insubordination a little out of character. Two things seemed a bit harder to swallow than normal, and trust me when I say I take all of these procedurals with a grain a salt, but the three tear thing and the using the blood from Hawkes's gloves, not too sure about that. Why do they draw vials if a dab will do ya? As far as the roach broach case, I thought it more of an opportunity to reintroduce the Lindsay dynamic into the show. It worked. She, Danny, and Flack exchanged some good banter, although sometimes I wonder why all the CSIs are all about word play, but moving on...This was just a regular CSI ep. I think they are setting up some tension between Mac and the deputy inspector, but other than that...nothing special.
  • Thank You ! For a great episode.

    9.0
    "Superb"
I thought this episode was well thought out. Great power struggle between Mac and Gerrard. I liked how Stella, all though she initially sympathized with Evie, picked up on something "odd" right away. I like that even Sid threw a wrench in the investigation by revealing the shooting coach in the morgue. I loved watching Stella reason out that Evie was behind it all. The reteaming of Danny and Lindsay was long overdue. I loved seeing a smiling, spunky Lindsay. She was missed and glad she is back. Jeweled cockroaches - not around my neck, but you never know with New Yorkers. I like how it turn out to be the person that was only initially spoken to for about 3 minutes and that he had an obsession with how "wonderfully amazing" cockroaches really are - as Danny said "you committed murder over a bug."
  • Mac and Stella's investigation of a fomer UN worker who is killed at a soiree is met with opposion from a member of the United Nations. Danny and Lindsay investigate the murder of a popular New York Chef.

    9.0
    "Superb"
An otherwise average episode is hightlighted by a bejeweled cockroach and Stella's instinct into the murder of a former UN worker who is killed at a Soiree. When the United Nations buts a roadblock on Mac and Stella's investigation into the murder of a young French woman, Mac finds information that allows him jursdiction over the case. Meanwhile, Stella's cautious interest in a 15 year old student of the young woman's leads to a scam involving the lawyer of the girl's family.

Danny and Lindsay have the most interesting case which involves the murder of a popular New York Chef. Their investigation leads to a wine scam, that has nothing to do with the Chef's murder. A bejeweled cockroach is the motive behind the killing. It turns out that the restaurants busboy was upset with the Chef for ripping the cockroach off the dress of a food critic. Danny's interrogation of the man reveals that the man has a strong love of cockroaches. The writing was pretty good and there were some cute moments between Danny and Lindsay. My only complaint was lack of screen time from Dt. Flack and and absense of Mac and Payton scenes.
