this is maybe the best episode from season 2, actually this one of the best episodes from the entire sseries, the only thing I didn´t like about this episode was the sub plot, it was a bad case where a driver was murder in his limo but luckely, the stella´s case was so brilliant that we forget the silly case about the limo.

the best scene was when stella was traped in her bathroom and then she tried to scape from frankie´s revenge, defitively, one of the best episodes ever.

P.D: I´m from venezuela, I´m not an expert writing in english, please forgive my mistakes
  • Frankie was just insane. This was a great episode to watch, and the actors pulled it off really well. It could have been too much like a soap opera had the actors not been amazing. But all of them, including Frankie, are superb. Spoilers inside

THE BEGINNING: Absolutely great with the Kid Rock concert, even though I hate him (I'm sorry to any who like him. I'm sorry he just grosses me out). Then we have the girl walking out to find her friend and she finds the dead chauffeur. Excellent!

    THE CASES:

Both cases are rather major in this one:

First is the obvious Kid rock case. This starts off as the first case, but we can obviously tell (several minutes into the show) that well the next case is the biggie, biggie. I loved the chick finding corpse at kid rock concert. Mwahahah. That's right. That's what happens. Just kidding. I loved the bouncer going all "No passes, no access." Yet when they show the badge, he lets them in. Then we have the manager freaking out. And of course we see Kid being a bit indifferent, ugh I hate him. And he stops to let the girl have a signature. I loved the whole Kinkajou bit and how the chick who owned it looked like Paris Hilton. Hee hee. This case was funny because we have so many suspects (of course) but it ends up being the chick with the CDs: she wanted a pass. She killed him because he said he'd give her a pass if she blew him, so she did. But he doesn’t give it to her so she looks in the glove compartment and accidentally shoots him. I actually felt for her. The poor girl.

I loved how Kid put the illegal copy up, and Lindsay found the bloody jacket. And kid asks how stupid they think he is. And of course Lindsay sees the CD and remembers the note. She is so awesome. And Kid is such a jerk. Maybe it's just the ep, but I always thought he played that way in RL too, and I hated him for it.

Then there is the OMG Stella is a victim, OR wait, she's a killer? case. It starts with shots fired at Stella's place, though we don't know that yet. Mac immediately rushes over hearing the address and knowing it's hers. I totally freaked when I saw Frankie is dead and then Stella is passed out. I thought she was dead too, and we find out she's not. When she wakes, she asks where Frankie is. She doesn’t seem to remember what's going on. It was so sad to hear Mac have to tell her how she's a victim not a CSI. Stella being processed definitely upset me. It just tore me up inside to see Stella crying as she was being processed. And how now she must know what it feels like. She probably never considered the possibility of it being her in that sort of position. But she was. And then we find out that the first two shots fired weren't what killed him, the third shot was what killed him. Her gun had GSR residue. Stella is the shooter. Mac knows she wouldn't have done it on a normal basis.

Flack wants "info off the cuff." He tells her she's the killer. We find out that Stella broke up with him because Frankie had been filming the two of them in bed and put it on the website. That was what Aresanob was. The creep. He was following her. And though she got rid of him, and never let her into his home (she has a rule no boys in her apartment so she always has a safe place to get to) he got into her house somehow, but he didn't kick in the door…FRANKIE IS A CREEP. He didn't care she broke up with him. I loved how Mac is determined with Flack and Hawkes to solve the murder. Poor Stella didn't even know what went on. Flack is just so sweet with her. I love him. And then we find out Frankie took up the statue she threw out and then what freaks me out is he has a knife to her throat. Of course I KNOW she's not dying. I mean, well she is a main character and she has a contract. She isn't going anywhere. I totally freaked out. And we see all the cuts on her finger tips again freaked me out. And when we see her cutting herself to try and get her hands untied upset me so much.

Then in the end, Stella wants to go home. But once she's in her home and looking at everything…and she fixes it up, she can't handle it. She's not as big a girl as she thought she was, so she packs some clothes and heads out. As she goes we see the bloody statue. And all I can think is poor Stella!!!

    FAVORITE SCENES:

They definitely had to be all the Flack and Stella scenes. He was so cute with how worried he seemed for her. He was very sweet when he asked her all the questions. It just lets you see the "softer side of Flack" no he's not sears. When he notes her hands shaking and he asks if she's ok to go through with it. He looks at her so sweetly. Then there was when Danny and Lindsay looked worried about Stella, and Lindsay especially was worried about him. She wanted to see her but Danny reminded her Mac wanted them on the case. So cute seeing him remind her about what needs to get done. I love when Linds freaks out at the suspect and she rushes off. Then she says he should do it by himself, and Danny comforts her. I loved when Danny asks the car company about the Kinkajou and calls it a Kinkapoop. Hahahah. That was great. I loved the whole bit with how Lindsay was explaining that the Kinkajoo was a playmate and Danny goes, "I can't see that as the type of playmate Kid Rock would have," and after a look from Lindsay he goes, "I'm just sayin…" Hee hee. I love him.

    OVERALL:

This was an amazing episode. I loved both cases, though of course Stella's took precedence. Danny and Lindsay worked well together. Stella's bit was very shocking of course. And I love the knowing conversation between Lindsay and the killer, "he said he'd give me a pass," "if you," "yeah. If I, and I did." The scenes that replayed Stella's crime scene were heart breaking. I loved how creepy Frankie was. He is a really great actor. Frankie was just insane. This was a great episode to watch, and the actors pulled it off really well. It could have been too much like a soap opera had the actors not been amazing. But all of them, including Frankie, are superb.
  • Stella is the victim in this case, not the CSI..

    I love the episode!!!!

We see Stella in one of her weakest moments and I just have to say that Melina Kanakaredes does a really good job. All the fealings she conveys: fantastic!

And sure I love how Don takes care of her. He really is a great friend. What my jealous mind remembers best is, of course, the cheek-kiss at the end... Lindsay yelling at a suspect and completely losing her nerves; Danny there to calm her down: great! Their chemistry is something the viewer cannot miss! I love it.

The Kid Rock case was fine, but naturally not the top priority.

Sure Stella wanted to prove at the end how strong she is, but I thought it a good move to show her weak, that she can't stay in that apartment. Who could and who blames her? No one I think.

This episode also shows that the connection between the CSIs and Don is amazing: they all care for Stella and are worried about her. They are not just colleagues but real good friends.

    I love the episode!
  • Great Episode....

Kid Rock actually did okay. I was surprise. But getting to the cases. Melina was excellent in this epsiode. Showing her vulnerability as well as frustration in the situation she found herself in, abused and scared. But her strength showed through it all. I loved the scenes with Stella & Flack. Knowing there was a job to be done but wanting to help his friend through this terrible event, he handled it with class and compassion. Mac being the protective one but also wanting to find answers handled the case personally. Lindsay & Danny finding themselves working the murdered limo driver due to Stella's situation. Lindsay's frustions in wanting to help Stella but being unable had Danny dealing with the blunt of her anger. Danny growing into the role of leader brings her back into focus. The final twist was murderer being a struggling singer.
  • Amazing episode.

This has to be one of my favourite episodes to date. I loved the A case, Kid Rock was a good guest star, and Danny and Lindsay both acted on it very well. However, it was Stella's storyline that made this episode special.

Stella is one of my favourite characters, and I think this was acted incredibly well by Melina Kanakaredes. I literally winced when I saw her all beaten up, and the way they pieced together the storyline with testimony and evidence was really well done. Regina Spektor at the end, love that song, and I was actually in tears.

Really interesting character development and great to watch.
  • Stella Isn't The Perp - She's The Victim

In this facinating episode of CSI:NY, Stella is attacked in her own apartment by her boyfriend. Since I started watching NY, I always found Stella to be my favorite character. This episode really developed her and let us see how she handles these situations. I found myself more concerned for her than the limo driver in the Kid Rock case.
  • An amazing episode!!! The death of a limo driver and Stella's boyfriend!

    "Perfect"
This was one of my favorite episodes. I liked how it started off with Mac and Lindsay investigating the crime scene of the murdered limo driver. Then as Mac is leaving he hears a call of a shooting with a possible officer involved. They rush to the scene and find Stella unconcious in a room with her boyfriend, who was shot to death.

It was nice to see Flack staying with Stella in the hospital. It was also nice to see Lindsay being concerned about Stella when she blew up on the suspect and left the room. Lastly, I loved at the end of this episode when Mac was being so nice to Stella and he said he would check her into the best hotel with a nice view.

My favorite line in this episode was when Danny and Lindsay were interrogating a suspect and Danny said kinko-poodle instead of a kinkojue. It cracked me up.

The killer of the limo driver, turned out not to be Kid Rock but the girl in the beginning that gave him the CD. I didn't expect it to be her. Stella's case was very interesting. Her boyfriend, Frankie, was following her after she broke up with him. Things got out of hand back at her apartment when Frankie tied up Stella and hit her. She got dragged to the bathtub, and as soon as Frankie left she grabbed a razor in an attemp to free herself. This was a gruesome scene as the razor cut up the tips of her fingers. Then she grabbed her gun, but Frankie tackled her to the ground and got it. He went to shoot but it didn't go off, and Stella grabbed it and shot him 3 times.
  • Stella becomes a victim Driver of Kid Rock is found dead

    "Superb"
In this episode a CSI becomes the victim. In this case Stella. Mac and Flack finds her in her apartment uncunsouis, and a dead Frankie next to her. Mac must now find out why she killed Frankie.

In the meantime Lindsley and Danny investigate the murder of a limodriver of Kid Rock.

This was an extreamly interesting episode. Not only because Kid Rock was in it. But for Stella. I was more intersted in her story than Kid Rocks. And we found out what she had seen on the computer.

A very good episode and I am looking forward to more episodes like this one.
  • Stella has become a victim.

    "Perfect"
This episode is different than all the other episodes. In this episode, we see one of the CSI's become a victim.

Stella was always known as The Statue of Liberty. And in this episode, we see the other side of her. And i was touched by the way Mac reacts when he heard the police report on the radio. He acted fast and this proves he cares a lot about the ppl around him. When they reached Stella's place, you could see the worried look Mac's had on his face. And seeing Stella lying on the floor, half conscious, nearly made me cry.

As she recalls what happened, i realise that she has no choice but to kill her boyfriend to save her own life. I was truly pissed at the way her boyfriend tortured her. I mean, he shouldnt have started putting that video on the internet. Stella deserves another better guy.

I was amazed when Stella insisted to go back to her house although it still haunts her.

I'll have to say this is one of the best episodes i ever watch so far.
  • kidrocks limo driver is murdered and most of the team is on this case when leaving mac hears a call for assistance over the radio and recagnizes the adress as Stella's

    "Superb"
In this episode everyone is worried about stella who was found unconcious in her apartment and her boy friend frankie is found dead, the thing is she can't remember what happen. Mac slowly unravels the mystery of what happen to stella while the rest of the team solve the murder of kidrocks limo driver. This episode has a lot of emotion in it and you see another side of stella, you see her soft side when she is vulnerable because she is the victim instead of the investigater. I thought this was a realy good episode because the cases were solved and we see a deeper side of the characters.
  • Two stories unfold in this episode. The first is the murder of a limo driver outside of a Kid Rock concert. The second is a woman who is the victim of a brutal assault in her own home. That woman is Detective Stella Bonasera.

    "Superb"
This episode seemed to move a little too quick for me but it was very well done and I did enjoy it. The scenes of Stella's ordeal are done in flashback and are quite good. Very suspenseful indeed. The hell Stella goes through will make you extra cautious the next time you consider dating. That's for sure! Also, as another review of this episode pointed out, it's good to see some background into the characters on the show. I hope that is a trend that will continue next season and to season after next.

OK. The Kid Rock story was boring. Its not that I didn't like the storyline, or that Kid Rock seemed out of place at all. Its that it was hard to concentrate, which is a waste of a storyline that I think could have been really good. The only part that made me sit up was Lindsay exploding at the suspect (I can't even remember the guys name).

I have to admit, I had an incling that something like this would've happened. Frankie's last name is Mala which means bad in Spanish. The website last week was a dead giveaway. Also it wouldn't be a storyline if things didn't take a turn for the worst. Plus we've never seen a woman on a CSI show and all in the whole franchise in a good relationship. But I didn't think it would be this dramatic.

OK, Stella's meant to be the tough girl on this show. No doubt she'll be over it before next week's episode but still... Everyone played this storyline out really well. A concerned Mac rushing to Stella's house, Lindsay freaking out whilst interrogating that suspect (Danny running after her was good too) and Flack standing with her to help her remember this what happened. And Melina Kanakaredes (Did I spell that right?) was amazing! She's a great actress and did her scenes so well.
  • In this episode we see a new side to Stella when the tables are turn and Stella becomes the victim due to what happend in the last episode. website comprised of them having a private moment.

    I love this episode.

for the first time to see a new side to Stella a fragile side that was great Melina Kanakaredes pulls this episode off so good she didnt come off tackey of over acting she was on top form every scene.

also huge suprise with kid rock he was ok i must admitt he was good.

the only think am staring to get bord with the whole dark past of Lindsay Monroe come i think it's time to spill.

but i must say this is one of the top ep so far.
  • In this episode we see Stella become fragile because she a website comprised of the last name that showed her and Frankie in bed together. She was hoping that it would remain private.

    "Great"

I liked this episode because it was interesting to watch Stella in a different way and then we're used to seeing her. I liked seeing the other side of Stella because it's one we rarely see. I have always wondered when we would see Stella deal with something different.

  • Stella the victim was hard to watch

Tell me you didn't want to do more to that ex boyfriend then just shoot him? Stella is a cop and she should have done more to defend herself then what she did. And she should have smashed that creepy art work. The Kid Rock story was completely boring. The girl committing murder for a back stage pass was stupid.
  • another good, not great

like last week, we have an episode with some great stuff, but overall not a prefect episode.

the story of Stella was something I knew would come one day and everything was perfect in terms of Mac rushing to her place when he heard the address, everyone freaking out etc. Flack was great during the interview scenes (do I detect a little crush).

HOWEVER. the episode seemed off in several ways.

First, putting it back to back with Danny's big episode may have been too much. I'm totally not opposed to the character revealing stuff. I'm a character junkie. and the producers did say when they announced the show that they were closing ranks a bit on NY so they could show us more than just the crime of the week and let us get into the who of the people solving the crimes. But too much at once risks going onto soap opera land.

Second, yes I get the notion of 'the job must go on even when it's one of us' but I'm not sure I agree with it.

and third, the big one. the whole thing was too rushed. there's an adage in TV writing, show don't tell. but we got a lot so telling. so much so that I'm not going to be shocked if I find out that 'frankie' was offered another job and wasn't going to be available anymore. personally I think that this episode should have been the season finale or better yet, top of the November Sweeps next year. and in the meantime let us see Stella dump Frankie. Frankie try to call, try to talk to her. have him send her little gifts that she tosses in the trash. have him show up at crime scenes etc. let us see her trying to get him away, the rest of the gang seeing it and wanting to know what's going on. Stella not talking because she doesn't want them to know that she was conned and there's a sex clip (maybe several) on the Internet. have the boys, especially Flack and Danny, step up to keep Frankie away cause they see that something is wrong. see Stella finally admit the truth, get a restraining order. which could be what makes Frankie snap. it wouldn't have been that hard to do and it would have given us a chance to really see how Stella was suffering from feeling powerless. instead of just having her say she was.
  • Wow.

    "Perfect"
It's nice getting a glimpse into Stella's private life (although we've had that since Frankie appeared in episode 2 of this season but we never saw it this close). I guess you could classify Frankie as an overly obssessed guy who really can't accept rejection. Maybe Stella wouldn't have broken up with him if he considered asking Stella first if it was okay if their sex life went public.

Melina Kanakaredes did an awesome job.

Danny and Flack were the calming factors in this episode. Flack stayed by Stella's side and eased her gently into remembering what happened at her apartment. Danny managed to bring Lindsay back to her senses after walking out on the interrogation.

Lindsay is now officially my favorite female CSI. You could tell at the beginning of the episode when they learned of Stella's predicament that she got all worked up and was trying her best to concentrate of the case she was working on. But a person can only hold in so much, and she finally vented out her frustrations at a possible suspect. It's a good thing Danny was there to keep her focused. What I did like was how helpless she sounded when she told Danny she wished there was something more she could do to help.

It makes one curious as to what made Lindsay react that way. I'm looking forward to an episode where we can get a glimpse of her backstory to know what made her decide to become a CSI and what makes her tick.

Anna Belknap also did an awesome job. I think the women were the stars of this episode.

It was disappointing that Mac wasn't there to comfort Stella, but I guess he's not really good at that. I think he shows his care for Stella by personally processing through the crime scene. It's a shame that he didn't have that many speaking lines though. I love the sound of Gary Sinise's voice.

One more thing I noticed is Kid Rock's concert. Bawitdaba is a good song, appropriate for the episode, but I hope they had picked something as appropriate but more recent.

  • Wow, didn't see that coming!

    9.0
    "Superb"
Tonight's episode opens with Kid Rock playing a big concert in the city. The camera focuses on a young woman in the crowd as her cell phone rings. She leaves the concert area to escape the noise and makes her way backstage. She goes outside and asks around for Molly, but she's nowhere to be seen. Instead, the woman comes across a car with a man in the driver's seat. She screams when she realizes the driver is dead.

After the credits, we see Mac, Lindsay, and Flack come up to the car. Mac identifies the driver as Nick Russo from Staten Island thanks to the man's drivers license. They rule out robbery because his wallet still has $200 or so in it. They begin dusting for fingerprints and notice a gun, but there's minimal blood splatter in the car. One of them pushes a button on the door and it raises the dividing window to the limo. It's then that they see a great deal of blood, which leads Mac to think the killer likely got hit with some of it as well. Mac notices something sticking out of Nick's waistband and then photographs it. He pulls it out and it turns out to be a Harry Belafonte Greatest Hits CD which someone had made on their own (burned CD). One odd thing about the CD is the fact that it's severely scratched.

Backstage, Mac and Lindsay talks to one of the managers about the driver. She says he wasn't a regular driver of theirs. The manager has to leave, so Mac and Lindsay make their way over to Kid Rock, who's trying to get rid of a fan who wants to talk to him in private. As security is taking him away, he mentions something about someone ripping off a song. Anyway, when Kid Rock comments on the driver being killed, he doesn't seem too sad about it. He's more concerned with the fact that he has to wait for another ride to take him back to his hotel. Kid Rock is then approached by a woman who is looking for an autograph, and he agrees to autograph her backstage pass. She then hands him a CD and tells him that it's going to be huge. Mac notices the cigar Kid Rock is smoking is identical to the one found in the limo. Before Mac and Lindsay leave, they ask Kid if he's going to be in town much longer. Kid responds by saying he'll be here for a few more days; he's got three more shows to do.

Back outside, Mac is walking to his car when he hears a dispatch call out for assistance. An officer may be involved in a shooting. We soon cut to Mac and other officers entering an apartment and they find Stella and her boyfriend, Frankie covered in blood. Frankie is dead, but Stella is alive. Mac questions her about what happened, but she can only remember bits and pieces. He tells her she's not the CSI on this one, but the victim, and they'll have to do a full workup on her, including a rape kit.

We cut to Lindsay and Danny at the crime lab. They're both surprised by what happened to Stella and Frankie. Mac has ordered them to stick to the dead limo driver case, so that's exactly what they do. Danny tells Lindsay that the gun that was recovered in the limo actually belonged to the limo driver. They don't have the ballistics tests back yet, so they can't be sure if the gun was used in another crime. The information Lindsay has gotten from the coroner tells them the following info: the driver was killed by someone in the front seat shortly after having sex, and he had given his number to someone. They then try to piece together a simple timeline thanks to the info Linday and Mac got from Kid Rock's manager.

Flack pays Stella a visit and gives her some medication. A nurse accompanies him into the room. She's there to test Stella's body for any signs of being raped. We cut to Mac re-entering the apartment Stella and Frankie were in when they were found. He searches around for a minute before we cut back to Stella being processed. The nurse scrapes under Stella's fingernails for any blood and DNA and is able to find some. Cut back to Mac, who finds a gun on the floor along with a casing not too far from it.

Back to the crime lab, Danny and Lindsay are processing the limo driver's clothing. Danny comes across a cat hair. Danny doesn't take the driver to be a cat person, but it could belong to the killer. They run it through their database of animals and aren't able to find a domestic animal. A foreign animal search turns up a result, however. The hair belongs to a Kinkajou, not exactly the most manly of pets.

In the lab, we catch up with Dr. Sheldon Hawkes and Dr. Sid Hammerback going over the autopsy of Stella's boyfriend, Frankie, who was shot multiple times.

We cut to Dr. Hawkes looking into a microscope as Mac catches up with him. They compare notes on Stella's case. The rape kit was negative, Frankie's right hand was positive for GSR, and the bullets found in Frankie match perfectly with the gun found at the crime scene, which confirms Stella was the shooter.

Back at the hospital, Flack questions Stella about what happened that night. She confirms that the website she found in last week's episode was in fact a video of Frankie and Stella having sex. She tells Flack that she broke up with him right after that. She tells him Frankie was upset about their relationship ending and began to follow her, upset at her not returning his calls. She tells him that after she finished shopping and running a few other errands, she went home. When she got home, she was shocked to find Frankie was in her apartment, setting the table for a romantic dinner. Flack asks her if she was armed, and she tells him she had a gun in her handbag. One of the things she can't explain is how Frankie got inside. She says that she never lets men into her place so that if something goes wrong, she's always got a safe place to go back to.

We cut to Mac examining the lock at Stella's apartment. With the special CSI cam, we can see a deep scratch or two in the lock, which makes it look as though someone had tried to pick it.

Back to the lab, we see Dr. Sheldon Hawkes examining the lock from Stella's door. He then compares Stella's key to the key they apparently found on Frankie. They seem to match up perfectly.

Danny and Lindsay follow up on that hair they found by tracking down an agent who's client, Nancy Sheridan, owned one. She was taken to the airport yesterday by another driver, not Nick Russo. Nick was apparently just hired because the old driver had to be fired. It seems he liked to pick up groupies in the car, and he didn't take to the firing very well.

With the new information, Danny and Lindsay have the old driver, Blake Mathers, picked up and brought in. We cut to them questioning him. He says that he was at the show during the time in which Nick Russo was killed. Unfortunately, no one else saw him in the audience, but he was seen backstage. Blake was the man who approached Kid Rock and asked to speak to him in private. He admits to all of this, but he's unwilling to admit he went out back to speak to Nick Russo. Danny and Lindsay are certain that this happened and that that animal hair transferred to Nick Russo's clothing during an altercation between the two of them. Lindsay gets surprisingly frustrated with Blake, and she storms out of the room after yelling at him. Danny follows after her and tries to calm her down. She seems to still have her head elsewhere, on Stella and her condition. Danny assures her that she would want them to concentrate at the current case; Mac would ask them for help if he needs it.

Back at the hospital, Flack receives word from the crime lab that the key was something Frankie made himself. Since he was a sculptor, he had access to clay and some metals, which allowed him to make a mold of Stella's key and then pour a liquid metal into the mold. All he needed to do after that is file down the key a little bit and it would fit just fine. Flack then questions Stella a little more about what happened that night, and it seems Frankie got a little more aggressive when Stella tried to call the police and get Frankie taken out of her apartment. He was especially pissed off at the fact that she had tossed out the sculpture he had made for her.

Back to the crime lab, we catch up to Danny and Lindsay working on the limo driver case. They use a special tool to make the 'Harry Belafonte' CD to become readable by their computer and determine it to be a master of Kid Rock's new album. Only the artist or someone from the record company would have had access to this, but so could the limo driver since he and Kid Rock were friendly. They theorize that Nick Russo uploaded MP3s of the new CD to the Internet ahead of the release date, which would hurt the sales of the new CD. When the former driver, Blake Matthews, found about this, he confronted Russo about this and scratched up the CD. Russo then turned the gun on Matthews, who overpowered Russo, killing him in the process. Another theory involves Kid Rock being involved in this. His cigar was found in the car and he would have likely lost millions of dollars by the new album being leaked to the Internet early. Lindsay gives Mac a call to let him know of their theories.

Later on, Mac and Lindsay team up and drop by one of Kid Rock's parties to confront him about their theories on Nick Russo's death. Kid Rock says that he knew of Nick releasing the CD onto the Internet, he actually asked him to. He says it's like a preview, it's a great marketing tool. The reason Kid didn't say anything about it in front of his manager is because he would have been sued for breach of contract. Lindsay then notices Kid's jacket a few feet away. Upon closer examination, she realizes there is blood splatter across the left chest and left shoulder of the jacket. He admits to have worn the jacket yesterday. Kid says it was probably from a kid in the audience who jumped onstage and got roughed up by the security. Mac, on the other hand, has a theory that Kid may have had second thoughts on having Russo leak the CD because the serial numbers would have been traced back to him and he'd be sued. Inside of one of the jacket pockets, Lindsay finds the CD Kid Rock was given by a female fan. She notices one of the corners of the insert label is torn off and missing. It appears to be the piece of paper Nick Russo wrote his number on. Before Mac and Lindsay leave, Kid assures them that he didn't shoot the driver and he doesn't know who did.

On the street, Danny and Lindsay catch up to Felicia Badman, the woman who gave Kid Rock the CD earlier in the episode. She admits to being with the limo driver that night. She asked him for his number in hopes of he would give her a backstage pass. She happens to still have it on her, so she hands it over to the two CSIs. As they're leaving to take Ms. Badman downtown, Lindsay receives a call which lets her know that the blood on Kid Rock's jacket is NOT Nick Russo's blood.

Back in the lab, Danny and Lindsay examine the backstage pass Ms. Badman gave them. The fact that the pass wasn't attached to a necklace anymore was a red flag. They put it under a series of lights and found some sort of substance. It may be blood, but it's too early to tell. They think Ms. Badman ripped the pass off of Nick's neck, but was he alive or dead at the time?

Danny and Lindsay then question Ms. Badman again about what happened that night. She doesn't tell them anything new until they find the necklace to the pass inside of her purse. She then spills her guts. Nick told her he'd give her a backstage pass if she would perform oral sex on him, and afterwards, he had a change of mind. Before she left the limo, she checked the glove box to find a backstage pass, but instead, found a gun. She threatened to shoot him if he didn't give her a pass. Instead of giving her the pass, he tried to muscle the gun away from her and ended up getting shot. She then ripped the pass from around his neck and left.

Back to the hospital, Flack is questioning Stella about that night. She can't explain all of the cuts on her finger tips, and she can't explain a lot of things from that night yet. She remembers him tying up her hands and legs. In the flashback video of what truly happened from that night, Stella tries to lie to him to put him at some ease in hopes of him letting her go, but it doesn't work. Instead, he punches her, knocking her out. When Stella comes to, Frankie drags her around the apartment floor after telling her he'll teach her a thing or two about crime scenes.

We cut to Mac examining the apartment, where he comes across a knife. He then finds a tub with a lot of blood in it, along with a razor.

Back at the lab, we have a very brief scene showing Dr. Hawkes dusting the razor blade for prints.

Back at the hospital, Flack tells Stella about the razor and says that sometime between her using the razor and he and Mac finding her and Frankie, she shot Frankie. Stella says the remembers the doorbell ringing. In the flashback video, Stella turns herself around in the tub when Frankie answers the door. She breaks her razor, separating the blade from the cheap plastic handle, allowing her to use just the blade to cut the rope she was tied up with. This explains why there are so many small cuts on her fingertips. No one could properly use a razor blade behind their back without cutting themselves! When Frankie went to check on her, Stella was gone. She hid behind the door to the bathroom and when slammed it into Frankie as he was about to look for her elsewhere. She ran into the other room to get her gun, but Frankie knocked her down and got to the gun first. He tries to pull the trigger, but it's not cocked properly, so Stella knocks it out of his hand, picks it up off of the floor, and shoots Frankie a few times in the chest, sending him to the floor. She then collapses to the floor as well and cries.

Det. Flack drops by the hospital a bit later on and tells Stella that Internal Affairs is going to rule it to be a clean shoot and she should be just fine. Stella thanks Flack for being there with her through the whole thing, and they hug. Outside of the hospital, Stella and Mac talk about coming back to work. Mac's clear that he doesn't want her back before she's ready. He offers to take her to a hotel until the crime scene cleanup takes care of her apartment. She says she's a big girl and will go back home on her own.

When Stella gets home, she makes her way through the apartment, but she's having trouble holding back her tears, especially with everything such a mess, blood everywhere, furniture overturned, etc. She finally grabs some clothes and makes her way out after seeing the sculpture Frankie gave her, which now has blood splattered all over it.

I really liked tonight's episode. I was very curious where the Frankie and Stella story would go this week after last week's surprise, and I have to admit, I didn't see this coming. I figured a breakup would be certain, but I didn't expect one of them would die and one would come damn close to it. The plot with the limo driver and Kid Rock was fairly interesting, but I figured most of it out as soon as I saw the CD in Kid Rock's jacket pocket.
  • Finally some background into the characters.

Okay I really thought that Frankie was a good guy. Then BANG! that all changed in one episode.Seriously I don't like Stella, but after that episode I feel sorry for her.I was really freaked out to see what he did to her.How could someone even think of doing that?Especially to her, she's probably one of the nicest people on the show. And it was nice to see how worried Lindsay(Montana)was. And how about when they were interrogating that other limo driver and Danny said"Hair from a kinka poodle, what is it?"That was pretty funny. We also get to see how much Mac cares for Stella, though I already knew that.Overall a great episode!
  • Thank you

What a fantastic play by Melina Kanakaredes! I always liked her, but now that she's shown the world what she can do with a script...I love her!

As we learn how she was attacked through her recollection of events, I am reminded of all the battered women and children who are killed at the hands of a "loved" one. If a cop with a gun and extensive training almost dies, what civilian stands a chance? CSI's Sara Sidle said it best in an episode about a battered wife found murdered after the suspect/husband shoves her: I have a gun! Imagine how he treated her!

The actors didn't overplay their worried-friend parts. Everything was expertly executed and I am very proud to say that I watched it and will continue watching this excellent show.
  • Excellent episode with character development all around – well, except for Hawkes, but his day will come. The concern for their colleague was well played by all.

Stella did a wonderful job in this one. The scenes were a bit brutal and made you cringe at points, but the story line and the emotions it derived from her colleges was spot on.

We had Danny becoming the calming presence in the show whereas he is usually the one being calmed – a definite sign of some maturity.

Lindsay took the news of Stella’s circumstance rather hard, and from the beginning it had you wondering if there wasn’t something from her past that was causing her distress over the current situation. It really made you wonder, especially when she blew up in the interrogation room. Lindsay is usually the calm one, and I think she caught Danny a little off guard. Tables were turned in that regard, and it was a nice change. She is fast becoming my favorite female CSI out of them all and I am very happy with her addition to the cast.

Flack was solid. I really love this character and how he is there for his friends. He maintained his “cop” persona while questioning Stella, but you never forgot that he was also her friend.

I would have liked Mac to have more of a supporting presence with Stella, but then we wouldn’t have had those moments with Flack. Toss up. Seeing that she is a very close friend that may be why kept his distance a bit. Something that personal to him may have caused him to pull back.

All in all it was a terrific episode – they are getting better and better as we draw closer to the end of the season. Hopefully, we will have more of these types of episodes spread throughout season three and not crammed into the end.

  • Kid Rock is doing a concert in New York where his Limo driver gets shot and also Det. Stella Bonasera is attack within her own home and you follow her through the sets of figuring out what happened from the opposite side of the table as she is use too.

    The Tables Are Turned..

The scene of Kid Rocks concert was pretty cool although the songs he was signing are way past their prime.

The most interesting part of the episode was that Det. Stella Bonasera who is a CSI was a victim in this episode and they go through trying to figure out what happened to her. It's harder on the team than most cases because she is one of their own. At one point Det. Lindsay Monroe gets very worked up because she feels like she is doing nothing to help Det. Stella Bonasera at all. Although she is told by another CSI all Stella would want from her is for her to catch the shooter in the crime they are working on.

This episode Bonasera's personal life was jumped into and she was not just the perfect CSI. CSI NY I assume from here on in is going to attempt to develop its characters more as they have done with Danny recently regarding the Tanglewood Boys. This episode was unexpected and rather surprising especially considering its last episode! It was a great episode and if u missed it...rent the future dvd....you will be thrown off guard!
