I must be on a role or something because this is the third episode of this series that I have seen and it's another great one. Seriously, this episode had a great story. One of the character's (I forgot his name....) knew a kid named Ruben and the kid was shot while biking by a robbery. It was really sad. It was interesting to see how every character reacted to the death. The other investigation was of a man that was killed by an exploding cigar. It was really sad when the killer told the story about his best friend drowning in the "submarine" because the sub was supposed to take them on amazing journies. They were just kids. That was so sad. Overall, two great, hear-wrentching stories. Another great episode.moreless

Another solid episode. This season is turning out to be the best ever for CSI:NY. Definitely surpasses the wreck that has become CSI:M. Nothing special, but its a very well scripted and acted episode with tradegy and sympathy for the viewmoreless
So what happens when you grow up and something in your life triggers the memory of a friend who died young? Most of us would do nothing, or at least just remember our dead friend. Yet there are those who would release that pent up rage and want vengence on the person they thought caused their death.
This episode is well written. Nothing spectular, but it has humour, sympathy and tradegy in good doses. The humour begins with the death of a denzien of NY, who dies by exploding cigar. Meanwhile a young neighbour who knows Danny is shot during a robbery. Tragically he dies. The plots of both are quite straightforward to follow. The usual twist takes us away from the obvious perpertrators as both turn out to be victims of circumstance more than anything else. In the end, I ended up feeling sorry for both perps as well as the victims. Very well written and interesting episode. Lets hope there are more to come from CSI:NY.moreless
Case Laughing Larry: Does Larry tells Flack that the murderer is more goodlooking than him?? Are you kiddin' me??? Very funny moments in this one, the Lindsay and Flack conversation great!, Sid with the messy hair after discovering the itching powder, hilarious! Flack in jeans... I'm the only one that notices that when they get in to the fireworks warehouseis day time and when they explode is night??? I found it weird, prettier but odd anyways Case bodega: Very sad and very touchy. I cried with Danny in all the scenes. Adam's back and he has tattoos?? the globe tattoo is really awesome and unbelievable, but this is NY! Anything is possible! Hawkes and the tato artist, just cute Important things for me: * Danny opening the door in pj's and a wife beater..hot!! * Danny discovering Ruben is dead...heartbreaking * Danny/Mac/ Lindsay scene: D is about to cry when Lindsay enters and he just leaves. I don't think he is treating her badly, I think he just don't want to let her see him so vulnerable and weak, maybe? If that was the bump I didn't see it but maybe I'm just in the negation fase... I agree with the one of you that said that when Mac talks to Lindsay he is telling more than just that. He is telling her to be there for him. I want to imagine than when she leaves she goes to find him but again is imagine too much maybe! * Danny doesn't have romantic intentions with Ricki!! He is just trying to comfort her because he feels guilty about what happened!! * CARMINE is a HUGE actor!!! * I didin't like that they show us a very worried Lindsay about Danny and in the next scenne she is joking with Flack and smiling widely.... *BOTH cases very touchy and about kids...a garanty of tears... I could go on and on and on but I would leave it for now!moreless
Well after much hype the episode didn't due much for me I must say. Danny had some intense meltdowns due to his young neighbor being killed by a civilian shot. The rest of themoreless
Well after much hype the episode didn't due much for me I must say. Danny had some intense meltdowns due to his young neighbor being killed by a civilian shot. The rest of the episode however was weak and unlike the previews the child's death only affected him and not the whole squad. The other case of the night involved a man getting his face blown open by a weaponized trick cigar. This had potential but ended in the ridiculous reasoning that a joke company provided an unsafe wooden submarine. Some pretty good premises just wasted and sadly that wasn't the first time that night.moreless
Goof: When Mac asks Danny why he didn't go home, Danny responds by saying that he wouldn't be able to stand hearing Ruben laughing or crying through the next door wall. However Ruben and Rikki, his mother, were shown to live opposite Danny, with a hallway separating their apartments.
Edit
Flack was a comic book kid. We also learn that he is probably Catholic.
Edit
It is pretty ironic that Ruben dies immediately after his bike has been blessed. The blessing of the bikes ceremony is intended to keep their riders safe.

Hawkes: Danny, you know this kid?
Sid: Hey, hey. Come on, get him outta here! No, don't touch the body, man.

Flack: If you guys can lift some prints, hopefully I can run down the rest of the story.

Mac: Thought I told you to take some time off?
Danny: Oh, yeah, you did. I just don't wanna go home. 'Cause when I go walking down that hallway now I'm... not gonna hear the kid laughing on the other side of the walls, you know. Crying when he doesn't wanna go to bed. I'm just afraid I'm gonna miss him.

Sid: More specifically, the mouth end of a Gran Cahill cigar.
Of all the brands of cigars, they have chosen the one that matches Eddie Cahill's last name.
