I must be on a role or something because this is the third episode of this series that I have seen and it's another great one. Seriously, this episode had a great story. One of the character's (I forgot his name....) knew a kid named Ruben and the kid was shot while biking by a robbery. It was really sad. It was interesting to see how every character reacted to the death. The other investigation was of a man that was killed by an exploding cigar. It was really sad when the killer told the story about his best friend drowning in the "submarine" because the sub was supposed to take them on amazing journies. They were just kids. That was so sad. Overall, two great, hear-wrentching stories. Another great episode.

  • Another solid episode. This season is turning out to be the best ever for CSI:NY. Definitely surpasses the wreck that has become CSI:M. Nothing special, but its a very well scripted and acted episode with tradegy and sympathy for the view

So what happens when you grow up and something in your life triggers the memory of a friend who died young? Most of us would do nothing, or at least just remember our dead friend. Yet there are those who would release that pent up rage and want vengence on the person they thought caused their death.

This episode is well written. Nothing spectular, but it has humour, sympathy and tradegy in good doses. The humour begins with the death of a denzien of NY, who dies by exploding cigar. Meanwhile a young neighbour who knows Danny is shot during a robbery. Tragically he dies.

The plots of both are quite straightforward to follow. The usual twist takes us away from the obvious perpertrators as both turn out to be victims of circumstance more than anything else.

In the end, I ended up feeling sorry for both perps as well as the victims.

Very well written and interesting episode. Lets hope there are more to come from CSI:NY.

Case Laughing Larry: Does Larry tells Flack that the murderer is more goodlooking than him?? Are you kiddin' me??? Very funny moments in this one, the Lindsay and Flack conversation great!, Sid with the messy hair after discovering the itching powder, hilarious! Flack in jeans... I'm the only one that notices that when they get in to the fireworks warehouseis day time and when they explode is night??? I found it weird, prettier but odd anyways

Case bodega: Very sad and very touchy. I cried with Danny in all the scenes. Adam's back and he has tattoos?? the globe tattoo is really awesome and unbelievable, but this is NY! Anything is possible! Hawkes and the tato artist, just cute

    Important things for me:

    * Danny opening the door in pj's and a wife beater..hot!!

    * Danny discovering Ruben is dead...heartbreaking

    * Danny/Mac/ Lindsay scene: D is about to cry when Lindsay enters and he just leaves. I don't think he is treating her badly, I think he just don't want to let her see him so vulnerable and weak, maybe? If that was the bump I didn't see it but maybe I'm just in the negation fase... I agree with the one of you that said that when Mac talks to Lindsay he is telling more than just that. He is telling her to be there for him. I want to imagine than when she leaves she goes to find him but again is imagine too much maybe!

    * Danny doesn't have romantic intentions with Ricki!! He is just trying to comfort her because he feels guilty about what happened!!

    * CARMINE is a HUGE actor!!!

    * I didin't like that they show us a very worried Lindsay about Danny and in the next scenne she is joking with Flack and smiling widely....

*BOTH cases very touchy and about kids...a garanty of tears...

I could go on and on and on but I would leave it for now!

Well after much hype the episode didn't due much for me I must say. Danny had some intense meltdowns due to his young neighbor being killed by a civilian shot. The rest of the episode however was weak and unlike the previews the child's death only affected him and not the whole squad. The other case of the night involved a man getting his face blown open by a weaponized trick cigar. This had potential but ended in the ridiculous reasoning that a joke company provided an unsafe wooden submarine. Some pretty good premises just wasted and sadly that wasn't the first time that night.
  • A great episode!

This episode had me hooked right away with the man whose face was blown off by the exploding cigar. Ugh, that looked very gross but was so original that I could not look away.

The Blessing of the Bikes in church was so cute. The relationship between Danny and Ruben was so adorable. When Danny saw Ruben's body on the table, I lost it. His reaction was so terrible, so sad. Ruben's death was too predictable, but still very painful and shocking. I felt so bad for Danny and Ruben's mother. Poor Ruben. Once Ruben's death occured in the episode, everything else became secondary for me. I concentrated on Danny's grief and the sadness of his co-workers/friends. Lindsay's insecurity about how to comfort Danny was endearing. The other case was good. It just didn't compare to the story of Ruben and Danny, who is one of my favorite cops on the show.

This episode made me cry a lot. I still feel like crying just thinking about the look on Danny's face when he first saw Ruben on the table. A funny part I'd like to end with is Sid and the itching powder. It was funny when he scratched himself until he looked disheveled. Thinking back on that scene, however, doesn't take away from the overwhelming sadness that a person will feel after they've watched the episode.
  • Danny and Reuben go to church for the blessing of the bikes. After the ceremony, a robbery gone bad occured. Linds, Stella and Flack investigate the death of a prankster whose face was blown up due to an exploding cigar.

This was a really sad episode. At the beginning I really liked the idea of Danny going with little Reuben. It's nice to see him interacting with kids. I couldn't bear to see a little kid on a morgue table even if it is a tv show. The other case, which was the prankster one was really good. I like the way Flack and Lindsay's childhood was brought into the case, it really defines their character more. There was a balance of comic relief and angst and sadness in this episode. This goes on my favorites list. However, some parts of the episode need to be fixed :)
  • That was so depressing, I can hardly move. Oh, the man-angst...

Luckily, I'm one of those people who likes angst. The A case was really funny up until the end. Flack and Lindsay ranting about Laughing Larry provided just the right amount of comic relief. '.... I had sea monkeys. :]' That was seriously the coolest thing Stella has ever said. Also, what was with the remix of Stayin' Alive? (And don't think for one minute that the irony was lost on me.) It made my ears bleed.

Now for the important stuff. I knew this was going to be an incredible episode the instant Danny answered the door in AN UNDERSHIRT. OH YES. Teen lust aside, it was horrifically sad. The way time seemed to slow down when Danny saw Ruben on the slab brought tears to my eyes. And let's not get started on the scene with Ricki. Then I REALLY cried.

As a side note, I don't believe Danny has romantic intentions with Ricki. It looked to me that he reached out to her, looking for reassurance that she didn't hold him responsible for her son's death.

This could be a great story arc. I can't wait for more!

Interesting, we open with the Staying Alive Strut. Our victim is Essex Palmer a know practical joker but someone didn't appreciate his sense humor and kills him courtesy of a cigar. Gross. This leaves alot of great on liners for Flack. Stella and Lindsay have got this case. We have little Ruben waking Danny to take him, as promised to the blessing of the bikes. On the way home we here gun fire and Danny sends Ruben home to safety. Mac and Hawkes arrive and get additional information from Danny. Mac, Hawkes and Danny begin working the scene of the shooting. Ours teams get to work. Lindsay and Stella meet with Sid regarding information on Essex and Lindsay's eyes light up when she recognizes a face on packet of itching powder found in Essex's pocket. Poor Sid and his case of the itches, Essex's idea of a joke. The look on Danny's face when he first sees Ruben on the autopsy table is just heartbreaking. Mac tries to console Danny. Danny is blaming himself. Lindsay rushes to Danny's aid only to be brushed off. Lindsay is unsure of what to do or say. Mac instructs her to tell Danny just that. A devastated Danny makes the notification to Ricki, Ruben's mom. Mac determines a link between Ruben's death and the shooting at the bodega. Lindsay and Flack share a common bond in Laughing Larry. The Lindsay, Flack & Stella team heads to a warehouse that fronts as an import distributor, specializing fireworks. The find a lot more than expected and almost get blown up in the process. Adam in autopsy theorizing with Sid, and then taking his theory to Mac and Hawkes. Which leads them to eyeball tattoos and a suspect. Our boy is growing up. Danny is there during the interview and from the sidelines provides information to both Hawkes and Mac. Mac's concern for Danny is obvious when he suggests that he take sometime, he declines, claiming he didn't want to be home. The three of them working with a computer regenerated crime scene determine that the suspect, Ollie is telling the truth and that Lucy Burke, the attempt robbery victim was the one who fired the gun. Mac brings Lucy to autopsy to see the damage she caused, unknowingly and unintentionally, but she still caused his death. Lindsay and Stella work on the Palmer case. Benjamin Suttor, turns out was the one trying to kill Laughing Larry. In a form of revenge, Ben had lost a childhood friend to drowning using one of Larry's gimmicks. Larry's isn't laughing now. We are at a church finding Danny desperate to reach out to Ricki, but unsure if it will be accepted. Where will he go from here???
