  • Many things are happening in this episode of CSI: NY. A paintball player is found dead in a warehouse, his teammate has gone missing, Mac and Detective Flack are having issues and somebody appears to be stalking Stella.

There is a lot going on in this particular episode but it worked well, was very entertaining and was well written and acted. I think it's safe to say that not many people were correct in their guess as to what happened to the paintball player who vanished. Certainly a clever (and maybe even frightening) way to end that story. Gary Sinise and Eddie Cahill were terrific in their confrontation. Another sign that CSI: NY has a truly great cast. The one thing that did not work for me was the person supposedly stalking Stella. Still a great episode.

  • Danny looking sexy with his shades and a hair cut and bundle of angst that is Flack and Mac.

Wow, this is the most random-est episode I've ever seen. From paint ball-shooting, to aliens, to corrupt cops, this episode definitely takes the cake. When I saw the preview for this episode and saw that Stella was being stalked, I was thinking, "Oh no, not another Stella-central angst episode. Now, they're over doing it." I watched the episode anyway because of Verna Welke, the crazy alien-lady.

OMFG. Danny got a hair cut (not bad, but I don't like it!) and wore glasses for dang near the whole episode (love it!!!!!). Mmmm very nice on the eyes. Now, on to the angsty part of this episode. I read a plot spoiler that said something about someone knowing Claire, but I hadn't given it much thought. Watching the exchange between that kid and Mac was really sad. Seeing Flack's face as Mac arrested the officer involved in the drug raid was pretty bad too. This was definitely an excellent mix of angst, suspense, and comedy.
  • Such an amazing episode! Paintball isn't all it seems to be spoilers inside

THE BEGINNING: How much greater than this can you get? There is a paintball game that ends in DEATH. Sweet. I always knew that game was dangerous! I definitely loved the sounds and the cool effects of it all. Very nicely put together.

    THE CASE:

The entire case is built around the paint baller case. However, it has some smaller cases built into it. I think a lot of people, or some thought Mac was a bit over the top with Flack, but actually I think Mac's response to Flack was pretty on target for him. He pulled the same "my lab must be clean of suspect" whatever with Hawkes just last week (poor Hawkes I wub him) and he did it with Aiden a while back. He just doesn't like the idea of corrupt cops. he strives to have clean business. Though I wouldn't be surprised if in the future the writers make him go all ebil- MWAHAHA.

Anyways, I liked where they went with this case. I really liked what seemed like rival paint ball champions was actually a good cop turned bad case. I thought the first clue was great. Also integrated into this case was the kid following Stella who turns out to be Mac’s son. At first I thought she was just being way too paranoid, but now, not so sure, since we actually see him. And then we find out who he is, and it’s a whole, oooooo. He thought she was CLAIRE. Though I don’t know how he could have made that mistake. But whatever, not a big deal.

Definitely loved the twist with the aliens. I mean come on. It just shows you the kind of silly things New Yorkers, well some, believe in. A lot of people said it was pointless. I didn’t think so. I mean this is an episode, about NY. You are of COURSE going to run into random things. CRAZY people. And yes, people are that insane here. And there is a majority of them. It’s hard to go by a day without some guy preaching to you or some woman singing prayers on the train. So maybe they aren’t crazy, no, but they need to realize after a long hard day of working, we don’t all want to listen to you talk about how You’re an angel sent down from heaven and we aren’t allowed to look at you. That is one of the great things about new york. It’s all the different people, and all the different personalities. That’s why a show about NY is of course going to throw in the random NYer who is just a little on the unique side.

    FAVORITE SCENES:

I liked the crazy astrologer. I hope she and her husband eventually get back to each other. I loved THE ENTIRE thing with the alien. Flack Flack Flack, with his whole smile as he looks at Stella who looked quizzically at the girl and said “I’m here for the alien??” And who is the alien? Our missing paint baller.

I also loved the whole scene with the interviews in the apartment. And I loved how they filmed that, it was very well put together. With all the thank you’s and door slammings. GREAT!

HEE HEE HEE And come on you have got to love the gleeful look Danny gives after he checks out the moon rock. How cuter can you get? The “get outta here!” and that whole science geek that he makes look sexy is sooo apparent here. Such a cute part. I mean really.

Adam’s scenes. Over and over again. He is such a great little techy :D I loveeeee him with the whole poof! He has some great one liners. Superbly done :). I definitely love the scene with Mac and Reed. So cute. It was definitely very touching. And finally had to be Flack watching the cop go down. The pain on his face is just unbearable. Poor Flacky Flack.

    OVERALL:

Such an amazing episode! I must play devil's advocate because I enjoyed this episode despite the lack of D/L. What really sold me on this episode was Flack. I LOVE Flack and I think Eddie Cahill is brilliant. I thought he was awesome. He was not only hilarious but also he had a more touching side to him: you could see the pain on his face when the cop was being taken away. I *heart* Flack, especially when he was interviewing everyone.

I think another part that really touched me was when we see the husband of the astrologer and Stella asks if he wants to talk to his wife. He claims sadly, how that’s not his wife, his wife, Trina, is still missing. Poor guy. Bless him.
  • Flack, Flack and Flack. Anything else I need to add???

This episode is made for Flack and his actor Eddie Cahill deserved it.

The interaction between Mac and Flack: the actors play each other off so well in this episode that you can only wish for more intersction between the two.

The struggle Flack has with Truby's dirty-ness, it gives Eddie Cahill a good opportunity to show what he can.

Otherwise, this episode is extremely good and I just love it. Sure, I'm a huge Flack fan, but all the other characters have their episodes, too and this one is Flack's.

For all the Flack-fans out there: watch it and cuddle cute Eddie at the end of the episode!!!!
  • A solid episode

A solid episode not the best so far this season but good. For one I like how they only centered around one case and made a mess of clues all tie together. The only thing I didn't like was near the end. I thought the sub-plot with Mac and that kids was pointless. Also didn't like how the case tied to someone on team. Because they did the same thing last week with Hawkes and how this week they did the same Flack.
  • An 'Alien', drugs, Stella's issues, dirty cops, and bear trap of all things. Just a typical day in New York!!!

Ok first thing Stella drastically needs a life not everything is about her. Although in this case she was being watched so i guess we can let her off with that one lol. Secondly, I love Flack as much as the next person but come on! He really needs to start trusting Mac when it comes to dirty cops. Has Mac ever caused anyone to distrust him? Besides he should really thank him for saving his life. Bless I think he needs to get rid of that chip on his shoulder, but not the sarcasim. Thirdly, that woman who had caught that "alien". Well she needs help lol. Altogether really liked this episode. This series is actually better than the Vegas and Miami counterparts so far. Hopefully it will stay like this.
  • So we have the Case Numero Uno which was very good, (i felt so sorry for Flack *cries*) Had some very good interaction between Flack and Mac (hey that rhymed). THe Aliens was a little ... well , shall we say strange?

But yeah we've got two guys playing paintball at an abandoned warehouse and then one of them ends up dead. the team comes down for a looksy and they find out the bullet is inside a Nutcraker balloon, a Giant nutcracker balloon. Mac calls Hawkes down to do the autopsy (This job never gets boring.) And they find out the bullets from a police isued gun (yeah yeah I know im skipping but gimme a break, its 8 o'clock fer cryin out loud!) They also find traces of a drug that was supposedly confiscated in a drug bust led by Flack (who was very good lookin again i might add) This of course causes some issues between Don and Mac who wants Flack to let him see his memo book to find out who done it. In the mean time Stella is trying to find the other paintball dude who just disapeard into thin air. turns out he was kidnapped by a deranged astrophysyst who thought he was an alien (weird)During this Stella was being followed by some kid who turned out to be Macs wife's son. They have some emotional conversation about Macs wife and the kid leaves dissapointed that his birth mother is dead. Flack goes to see the drug dealer to find out how much crack was there when they did the bust and finds out that one of the cops stole some. After much emo attitude and conversation Flack gives Mac the memo book. We end with the dirty cop getting booked while Flack looks on. (if you don't like this please understand that its the first review i've done.)
  • Paintball, giant balloon, aliens, drugs, more Mac and hot-looking Danny in shades! What more can you ask?!

Yes, i know i'm a week late for posting this review because i just joined tv.com.

Anyway, this episode was exciting and there was a lot of unexpected events(eg. so-called existance of aliens?)

It starts off with two figures running around holding paintball guns. The consequences : One got killed and the other one was mistaken to be an alien. Nextly, a cop, a BAD cop was dealing drugs. Are they trying to tell that not all cops are good as we think? Consequence : Bad cop gets caught

And i've never really seen flack and mac talked to each other like this before. But this has only make the eppy more interesting. I love the part where mac tells flack that the bad cop dishonours the badge they both wore =D

We have the sudden appearance of Mac's stepson and he stalking stella. I felt sad for both Mac and the stepson for one had lost his wife and the other had lost his own mother.

Not forgetting, Danny looks extremly hot in the shades. I was totally drooling!
  • Parade balloons, bear traps, and aliens - Oh my! Then there was a stalker and a dirty cop. I love this show.

Sigh. I'm a little late - didn't get to watch the episode until Sunday night (my roomate was away and we have to watch the hotness that is the boys of CSI together, I wouldn't deprive her of that.)

I enjoyed the episode. First off we have the most random series of events that result in one dead and one seriously injured (wait, the "alien" did survive? right? darn I can't remember.) Two boys take their competative natures and toys to the street. One enters the warehouse where a bad cop just happens to be dealing drugs by a Thanksgiving parade balloon. The other gets caught in a bear trap that a astropsysicist placed to catch aliens. Come on, what's not to love abot that premise?. If someone told you that their friend died that way or was injured that way you would laugh, right? Then you would figure they were just pulling your leg. And yet somehow CSI New York pulls it off.

All that and we have a boy, that turns out to be Mac's stepson following Stella. I ached for the two of them. He is the last connection Mac has to his wife - and the boy has to his birth mother - but the person that would beneift the most from this, Claire, is gone. Now the boy will never get to meet his mother. And it's kind of true, sad, but true, that Mac will porably have no further connection to this boy. It was the interaction between Flack & mac that sold this episode for me. Mac is so honourable. His speech to Flack about why he needed to do this gave me chills. But I also felt for Flack. I truly belive that cops like this need to be punished. I'm no stranger to bad cops in my city, and we only have 1 million people, and we're Canadian. I can only imagine what things are like in New York. Also - Danny was really hot. I love those glasses.
  • Enough already with Stella and her issues!

That woman needs a shrink. What happened to Mac and the doctor girlfriend? Have they split already? Glad I missed Gary on Letterman spilling the beans. I actually liked the dead wife's kid coming to look for her. But please answer me this... why didn't Mac show him a picture of her? You know he has one in his wallet.
  • *to the tune of "Jimmy Crack Corn"* Stella's getting stalked, and I don't care...

    7.2
    "Good"
Stella's stalker. Having known in advance who he was (thank you, Gary, for revealing that on Letterman), I knew he was going to mistake her for Claire. Therefore, that kind of takes the urgency out of the whole storyline. Not that I cared that much anyway. And if she was worried that she was being followed, what in God's name was she doing alone at a bar? Why didn't she call the police? She was attacked in her own home by her boyfriend, you'd think she'd be more paranoid about stuff like that.

Is Reed making multiple appearances? Because if not, it seems kind of pointless to introduce him and then do absolutely nothing with him. After all the build-up, it was a major letdown.

I was actually expecting a dirty cop storyline a lot sooner. I like the idea, but I hate the way it was handled. Though I did enjoy the Flack/Mac interaction, and how they both had different but completely valid opinions on how to handle the situation. I loved that Flack stood up to Mac. It kind of seemed like a cop vs. scientist battle that was going on.

And again, no D/L. Look, TPTB, I'm not asking for much. If they could just be in the same scene, so I could have something to analyze to death, that would be fine. Just give me something. Three weeks with no D/L is a little much. I'm sure Anna's pregnancy has something to do with that, but still. I'm sure you can give me something.

The whole thing with the aliens... While funny, it was pointless, and added nothing to the story. It would've been different if the whole episode was about that, but it wasn't. So I could have lived without it.

In my opinion, this was one of the worst episodes of the season. I expect a lot more from NY.

On the plus side, Danny looked insanely hot. Sunglasses? Running? I choked on my own drool.
  • Drugs, aliens, stepsons, and paintball. Random much?

    9.2
    "Superb"
I thought this was a lot better than the past few episodes. It was fast paced and there were a lot of happenings going on that you really have to pay attention.

I liked the whole alien thing, it was completely unexpected. I had thought the missing paintball player was dumped somewhere by whoever killed the other player, and even when that moon rock surfaced, I thought it was just used to bludgeon the paintball player. I couldn't help but snicker when Stella and Flack went to go to this woman's apartment. Stella's expression when she asked about the "alien" cracked me up.

Mac's stepson showing up was also a surprise. I wonder if we'll get to see him again (though I did see him in a Bones episode, and he had this emo look).

The Mac and Flack interaction was very good. To be able to confront each other like that shows their professionalism, not to mention how close they are as friends.

Lastly, I noticed Anna Belknap play "hide-the-baby-bump" with the cameras.

All in all, a good, dynamic episode.
  • That girl who was obsessed with aliens was nuts! I wonder in real life what they can charge her for. More and likely insanity. Mac's step son is a cute too! But this is most random episode I have seen yet.

Stella has been having weird feelings lately, as if she is being followed. She hoped by telling Mac she would feel better, but the biggest twist to soon to come up.

Strange things has been happening in an ally way. Drug exchange and young women claims that she has been adducted by aliens! Two paint ball players were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. One was found in a warehouse where a large Thanksgiving Float was stored; it was the only witness of this murder. The other just…Disappeared. Hawkes found a bullet that belonged to a police man's gun inside of the float’s deflated arm. Flack went going door to door in the apartments and of course everyone has some rude comment. But this one girl says “Are you here about the aliens?” Back in the lab they noticed large traces of black cocaine on a box found in the dumpster in the victim’s bullet wound. Many years ago Flack and a group of police men did a drug bust with that same drug. Lindsey stated that it was impossible to create that same drug, so Mac began to suspect one of the cops might have taken the black cocaine for his own use. Outside in the ally way Danny found rust and paint on a pile of leaves. Back in the lab Adam predicts that it’s a bear trap. Stella of course didn’t believe him. So as this murder is being worked on, Danny and Stella are outside and a boy is a yellow hoodie is watching them. Danny goes and chases after him, but he ran onto the bus and they lost him. A few scenes later, Stella and Mac were outside and saw the kid. In the same hoodie too, so Mac chases him and jumps [Amazing!!!] and tackles him down. He asks “Who are you? Why are you following her?” and he asks if she’s Claire. Mac says “That was my wife!” [I’m getting lazy at writing this review so I’m skipping a bunch of scenes]

Mac explains how she died, and he tried to shows “Fatherly love” but he turns it down and says something like, who he was looking for is dead and walks away.

By the way, Flack didn’t want to give up his notes he took about the drug bust to Mac because he felt that the cop did so many accomplishing things, but he finally gave it to Mac after he had this threat. Alright I’m done typing this. I hope you loved the episode! I give it 2 thumbs up! I hope to see Mac’s step son again soon!
