    • Goof: Watch very carefully during the first scene of this episode with Flack and Hawkes. The "corpse" they are investigating moves, just before a camera cut. The move occurs just after the names Karen Gregan and Javier Picayo leave the on-screen credits.
    • Goof: When Martin shows Mac his martial arts weaponry collection, Macs claims that it makes his job easier to know his weapons. Later on, he used all of them trying to replicate the cut on the victim. When Lindsay comes in, he explains to her that to use the katana properly you need years or practice in order not to butch the perfection of the cut. And then proceeds to do it, marking him as somewhat of an expert. Plus, we get to see him wearing something other than a suit.
    • When the CEO Paul Martin, expert in martial arts and therefore oriental manners, serves tea he points the spout of the teapot at Lindsay Monroe. Lindsay pointed out to him that it's an insult to point the spout at your guest. This shows that the so-called expert in oriental ways is either somewhat ignorant of the oriental manners that he is supposed to be so fluent with, or he's actually insulting her. Lindsay then pulls off a coup de grace by turning the teapot to point it directly at Martin. Now either Martin has to acknowledge that he is an expert at martial arts and knew the oriental manners, and was deliberately insulting Lindsay. As such he accepts the insult against himself in return as valid and apologizes. Alternatively he says nothing in return and looks the prime jerk that he really is. He choses the latter.
    • The crime lab is now on the 35th floor. They show it when Mac and Stella walk out of the office.
    • Goof: Lindsay didn't know that 78th St & Park Ave is pronounced "78th & Park" in New York, but she did know what the victim's cross street was based on his address? This isn't really a goof. Lindsay had access to a map search. Putting in his address, she would have been able to see what the cross streets were. Any map engine would have told her 73rd Street and Park Ave.

    • Danny: So we're looking for a combination of Spiderman and Minnesota Fats. Spider-Man is a fictional character appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Minnesota Fats is the name of the pool player in Walter Tevis' book The Hustler . The book was made into a movie in 1961 in which Jackie Gleason portrayed Minnesota Fats. He was nominated for both and Oscar and a Golden Globe Award for this role.
    • Danny: Our San Gennaro vic, looks like he was on a Star Trek diet. Star Trek is an American science fiction entertainment series.
    • Mac: Know what I love about the San Gennaro festival? The Feast of San Gennaro was first held in New York city in 1926 by newly arrived immigrants from Italy. This annual religious street festival celebrates the Patron Saint of Naples, San Gennaro, and attracts over one million people every year. The festivities include parades, carnival rides, food stands, cannoli eating contests, live entertainment and a religious Procession, where the Statue of San Gennaro is carried through the streets of Little Italy (this is the Procession we see in the beginning of this episode).
    • Mac: Those who live by the sword die by the sword. This expression refers to the Biblical verse Matthew 26:52, "Jesus said to him, 'Put your sword back in its place, for all those who take up the sword perish by the sword.'"
    • The fight scene in the bar brings memories of the Matrix Reloaded fight scenes. In martial arts walking on the ceiling actually started with the real Ninja, which is something that no-one ever volunteered for (according to Keisuke Hoashi.) There appears to be very little record of skilled fights involving ceiling walking outside of movies and the Ninja, though I imagine with enough momentum and push off the floor and wall it is possible. From what I see the advantage seems minimal because any skilled opponent would use the time taken to achieve that position against the ceiling walker. BUT ... it looks real cool!
