  • Kind of boring.

This episode was, how do I say this, boring. While it was still entertaining, it is CSI: New York after all, so it can't be all bad.

At least the show is making an effort to carry over some storylines such as the emergence of Haylen Becall with the unit, Danny Messer's ongoing battle with being handicapped and Donald Flack possibly having the yips, all things to look forward to even though anybody who has sense five hours of television in their lifetime could predict how they will turn out.

As I said, not a horrible episode, but a little low on action at times.
  • A woman confesses to the brutal murder of her unfaithful husband. However, the DNA recovered at the crimescene tells a different story. Mac and the team soon find that the DNA is linked to dozens of murders making them think a serial killer is at large.

I like how the writers of this episode took a familiar plot device and tried to take it in a new direction. However, there were a number of flaws in this episode. This episode is by far one of the most wordy of all. There were times when the plot ground to a halt in order for the characters to do a lot of explaining. The story was also sidetracked by Danny's difficult recovery. The dialouge between Hawkes and Danny at the beginning of the episode seemed too contrivbed to come off as genuine. A good episode, but flawed also.
  • Story stolen and too much personal drama

The storyline of this episode is actually far from creative as it is based on the "Phantom Killer" in Germany that never existed. For a period of more than 15 years the police tried to track the phantom killer and this (or last) year they found out the swabs were contaminated by "erika", a woman working in a factory in bavaria.

But what bothers me more is all this personal drama that they are now putting into the show. It's a great tool to profile characters every once in a while but now we are in season 129 and it looks like the writers are running out of ideas.

I love this episode, I kinda liked the case..but it wasn't really that excited 4 me.

Because the wife killing her husband, isn't really that special anymore.

But I did like the DNA transfer on cotton swab, that was really original

I did really like the D/L moments in this episode!

And how Hawkes cares about Danny, it was soo cute to see how they still have a very good fiendschip.

And I especially liked the end when Danny could stand up and he was holding Lucy, it was soo cute! And I was soo happy, Lindsay's face was priceless!

(sorry 4 the bad english xD)
  • Different twist on the same ol' thing...

I know this is going to be a little strange, given that there are so many crime dramas out there today. I really liked the "crime" in this episode. Sorta shows that even the best of the best crime labs and detectives can be led astray buy simple human error.

The story was really compelling how one factor outside the control of everyone in the lab can change the course of an investigation. I guess this episode is further proof of what you get for going with the lowest bidder!

Also, insert obligatory comment about the story arcs and Danny walking again. Good ep.
  • I loved the episode, especially the Danny/Lindsay moments, and the ending was so sweet and touching. It would be impossible for anyone who's a mother not to feel the depth of emotion written on Lindsay's face.

I agree with jordinajamaica that Anna Belknap deserves much more credit for her acting skills than she's given much of the time. We can't forget that both she and Carmine Giovinazzo can only work with the material they're given. They both play well against each other, although I'd love to see more physical contact between Lindsay and Danny. The writers seem reluctant to show them hugging or kissing, but the affection they do get to show seems so natural and sincere. What a great duo and a great relationship. Let's hope it continues. "Lucy" is a gorgeous baby (of course!) and amazing how she smiled so sweetly at Lindsay. The episode itself was great, although the Flack/Lindsay part where he "froze" didn't play very well. It seemed that while Lindsay "saved" his butt he wasn't really in danger, although I suppose it could have happened.

What really upset me was the absence of Adam. It's bad enough that Heydn has wormed her way into the lab, but to cut Adam's screen time is just wrong. No wonder most reviews I read don't like her character at all. I hope she goes away.
  • Interesting case with some personal developings!:)

I'm actually crying while writing this. Whoever has the guts to tell me that Anna Belknap is not a good actress is gonna pay... I've heard a lot of crap about her that she doesn't deserve. In that 10 seconds scene she made me cry with her and that's not something a lot of actors can do.

Said that, how hot was Danny holding Lucy, huh? I mean... WOW... breathtaking! And the famous grin at the end even better! I'm glad that he is progressing.:)

About the case it was good. The DNA transference in all the swabs was curious and now I know why they collected DNA from the wife with that tongue depressor, because if they did with a swab the story wouldn't have had any sense! I think that they gave very little importance to that contamination but it actually meant that at least 17 cases were contaminated or unsolved because gloves make the hands of the girl sweaty....

Flack is still grieving, he is not himself and although the girl threatenning him with a knife it didn't look that bad in my eyes I guess that it could have gone really badly and he was supposed to do something, but honestly that restaurant was full of people and Lindsay was just behind the girl, wouldn't shooting her be a little bit dangerous and maybe even reckless?? I think the idea of making him froze was good but they ended not playing it very well....

Sid was around this time but Adam not! And Haylen was there! Me don't like that!

I think that HAwkes speech to Danny was a little bit too harsh too... But if that made him be able to stand up with his daughter in his arms, kudos to Hawkes!:)

All in all a very good chapter with an unpredictable ending and some sweet and funny moments...
  • ok story line, amazing ending.

it was an ok story line that was going on had my attention. wife kills husband because of cheating nothing to original. what had me going was that it left questions unanswered and kept me guessing. the whole two wives thing made it interesting for a little bit. did not see the whole cotton swabs coming. that was kind of depressing to find out all though cases was because someone can't wear gloves! plus would a place that has a contract with a crime lab do inspections to make sure thing like employees who handles the cotton directly was wearing gloves. besides the lame end to the crime the whole story line with danny was amazing. though it seems kind of soon for him to be standing with nothing but him with his daughter was so adorable. oh and hawks basically calling him out and ripping him a new one lighted the fire that danny needed. cant wait to see where this goes.
