Well, I don't know how season 8 will start but it's almost a given that Mac is gonna stick around so that's good. It'd be cool if he would carry on in the same mindframe that he was at the end of season 7 and despite staying in charge, he'd delegate more in his team. It'd be good to see them challanged and facing other kind of issues and Mac helping them along the way, allowing them to learn from their mistakes and acquire experience in other fields. Mac's private life has been confusing with the whole Aubrey popping in and out, Peyton popping in and out. I don't want him to grow old alone but TPTB should make up their minds when it comes to Mac's love life: either give him one or not, but they should stop confusing the heck out of us.
I'd love for Danny and Lindsay to keep being written nice and cute and low key. They have hardly interacted at all in some episodes but they've had a nice share of adorable little moments that fit nicely in a lab context and a working environment. I miss them both working a good case on the field though, something in the lights of season 2 and season 3. Also it's gonna be interesting to see how Danny's promotion is gonna affect his relationship with Lindsay, for the good and the bad and his relationship with the rest of the team. We still have to see how they are gonna take the news.
I'd love to see a good storyline involving Adam and another one involving Sid. It was good having a glimpse at Hawkes' personal life this season, now it's time to develop Adam as well, and Sid if possible. They have been underused when it comes to their personal lives, especially Adam. We know he had a troublesome childhood and it'll be nice to see what the consequences of that are if any. I miss some insight on what his life out of the lab is, what he cares for, what he fears, what makes him the Adam we love.
Hawkes has been well written this season, I like it that despite he is brilliant he also has his flaws. However, the whole calling in sick and being caught, the whole sleeping in and arriving late, the whole weeed exposure was all a bit too much. A flaw here and there is alright, but turning him into someone irresponsible is not.
As for Flack, I think I'm ready to see him back to his old self. He's had a good screen presence this season and his one liners are as hilarious as always but he still misses some of his old spark. I'm glad that TPTB wrote in his mourning over Angell and it was nicely done and carried away through out the season in subtle and nice touches but I think it's time for him to start shaking it off. And I don't mean that he is to forget Angell or not be hurt about it and haunted with some memories here and there (there won't surely be a lack of instances that could trigger that) or jump into a torrid relationship or become a womanizer but I dunno, maybe see him venture into a date would be nice.
