Mac: (To Stella) You know the victim. Let me rephrase that, how do you know this guy?
-
Flack: Kosta Papakota is a suspect in Kolovos' murder.
Stella: What? That's insane.
Flack: If you know something, Stella, you should tell us.
-
Professor Papakota: (To Stella as he dies) I loved your mother.
-
Mac: A man you claim is the partner of Diakos is found dead with your home address in his pocket. You owe me an explanation. And something better than what you're giving me here.
Stella: Look, Mac, I am just as confused as you are. This is not easy to explain.
Mac: Try.
-
Stella: In my attempt to prove that Sebastian Diakos was the one who attacked me, I learned that both he and Kolovos were running an antiquities smuggling ring. The Cypriot government was on the hunt for Kolovos, so I... I delivered him. I was told that he would be arrested and detained. How and when he got back to New York, I don't know. Why did he come back?
Mac: Revenge. And the guy who killed him just might have saved your life.
-
(About the bruise left by the force of the fatal stabbing)
Hawkes: That made a deadly first impression.
-
Flack: Is there anything else I should know? Anything I should do?
Stella: Tell Jess that Kolovos is dead and she should step back.
-
Professor Papakota: I thought you were no longer working on the smuggling case.
Stella: It's a murder case now.
-
Stella: I'll never forget the first time you came to St. Basil's Academy.
Professor Papakota: It was your birthday.
Stella: Yes. Ever since then, you've always been my guardian angel.
Professor Papakota: Yes I am. And don't you forget that.
-
(About the painting that Professor Papakota gave to Stella as a graduation gift)
Mac: After I deciphered the stamp of authenticity from the matte behind the painting, I ran an Internet search. Found out the painting was stolen from an exhibit at the Metropolitan Art Museum; an exhibit put together... by Professor Papakota in 1977.
-
Stella: Diakos, Kolovos and the professor may have discovered the lost tomb of Alexander somewhere here in Thessaloniki.
Mac: That's where the evidence points.
-
Stella: Mac, I know I was wrong to keep investigating the case after you told me to step down. I'm sorry that I made it difficult for you and for the department.
Mac: This isn't about my job or the department. It was difficult because I care about you.
Stella: (Smiles) Thank you.
-
Stella: Who's the woman in this photo?
Mac: I think it might be your mother.
-
Stella: Professor said he didn't knew my mother. I mean... if this is her, why didn't he ever tell me?
Mac: It's tough for me to tell you now. Can't imagine telling a young girl.
-
Mac: Professor P must have a brother.
Stella: He's the one who was drinking coffee.
Mac: Yes, and the one who killed Kolovos. He knew you were closing in on him. This is why he came after you.
-
Stella: (To Professor Papakota) You didn't just steal artefacts from your country. You stole from me. You knew my mother. You knew her. You knew who she was. And you never told me.
-
Professor Papakota: (About Stella's mother) She was so beautiful, so talented. The painting I gave you was the last thing she worked on. I wanted you to have a part of her with you always.
-
(Stella is reading Mac's coffee grounds)
Mac: So I have a problem?
Stella: Well, it involves a woman. See, this woman... seems as though you have something that belongs to her. This item is gold and is worth far more in honor than fortune.
(Mac returns her badge to Stella)
Stella: You know, I don't need coffee grounds to see how lucky I am to have you in my life, Mac.
Mac: Okay, okay, what do you... what do you got in here?
Stella: See, there you go. See that right there? That's an 'S'. That would be 'Stella', the woman in your life who sometimes you adore, and sometimes she drives you crazy.
-
Flack: Jess didn't tell me any of the details, just that the two of you were working on something, but if this involves her, I'd like you to tell me what it is because I care about her.
Stella: I know you do.
-
Danny: How's Lucy?
Lindsay: She's great. Her first visit to the lab is a big hit.
Danny: What, uh... what's Blake doing right now?
Lindsay: Oh, he's so good with babies. She adores him.
Danny: No, she doesn't adore him. The only man in her life is me. (To Blake) Hey, buddy! Don't you have some DNA to look at?
(Lindsay chuckles)
Adam: Watch out, Blake, here comes daddy!
-
Adam: Priapus. The male God of Virility?
Lindsay: (Referring to Danny) Oh, that's what I call him.
Danny: That's right, huh? All right, well, my personal weapon aside...
-
Mac: I gave you a direct order to leave the Diakos investigation to me. You chose to ignore it.
Stella: I made a decision, Mac, and frankly, I would make the same decision again. I got a tip that he was on the move, so I took action.
Mac: What you did was make it personal.
Stella: It is personal. He tried to kill me.
Mac: You stepped way out of bounds on this one and you know it. You're a detective and you make an anonymous call alerting the police to Diakos's apparent murder. That's grounds for suspension! Or at least a desk assignment! You have any idea of the position you've put me in?
Stella: Oh, yes, I do. You know what? I'm gonna make this easier for you.
(She leaves her badge on his table and leaves)
-
(Mac is staring at Lindsay)
Lindsay: What?
Mac: What are you doing here? Where is Lucy?
Lindsay: She is in ballistics, analysing stria.(They both smile) Look, I have been here exactly 2 hours, I'm leaving in 40 minutes, I just wanted to fill in a few blanks in the case. You are paying me to work part time, besides this lab would fall apart without me. (They laugh again)
