Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • Ice, Ice Baby OR Run for Your Life!

I liked the death of the Vodka Queen. I thought in the flashbacks the Vodka queen sounded like the evil queen from a Disney movie, but other then that, the acting was pretty good. The story, was well planned out.

The murder at the marathon was very interesting. It was confusing, and had extremly interesting twists and turns. I thought the story was a very good idea, and was very original. There wasn't a whole lot of emotions from the sister. but other than that it was good.

And finally to Danny and Lindsay aka Montana. I really thought after the last episode I really thought she was slowly falling into his arms, but now I don't know what to think about them, but I love them as a couple, and hope they getting a happy ending in the show!moreless

    There is some kind of a murder and then lindsay finally agrees to go out with danny and she leaves him out to dry by going to work and not bothering to call him or tell him where she is and he gets stood up S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S S A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D D ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !moreless
  • An excellent episode. Shipper status behind, it made for great tv watching. Spoilers are inside, sorry!

We have an ice princess murdered at a Vodka release party. I have to say I appreciated this episode because it shows HOW crazy New York openings…for ANYTHING can be. Yes they do go that crazy. I loved the Penguins. Hahaha.

First is the case of the Ice Princess. Weeeee, dead icy chick. This case is great because well there is a party and tons of people who are suspects, and a boyfriend who has an alibi. What I loved is she had a BAC of 0, but she had vodka in her stomach. What killed her was no ordinary icicle! MWAHAH excellent.

I have to say, I love Danny’s detective skills, and I love that they showed it. I loved how he got the guy to lean back so he could get his prints. Brilliant :D

Lindsay is sooo good, even though she turns him down for food again, poor Danny! I love how she acted with the bratty waitress who’s father was an attorney, “believe me, I will” indeed. :D

And the feather wasn’t from the girl, but the boyfriend? His alibi seems to be false, he killed his girlfriend! Oooo jerky jerk jerk. God I hate guys sometimes.

Second is the case of the marathon runner who died of Cyanide poisoning. And where is it coming from? Some of the water!! However, cyanide wasn’t what killed him… interesting, since there was none in his system, Mac suggests carbon monoxide? How does that happen? This case was great because of that. This case is great because of all the curves such as there were fish eggs on the vic’s clothes, and frostbite on his face. I love the connections they made- the nozzle found at the scene was what killed him, or part of it. They find a witness soon enough, a guy in a wheelchair.

And they find a girl who had a wild cat as a pet. She had a pet with cyanide poisoning. Poor thing. I love how one thing leads to another in this show, there is fiber on the cats claws which leads Stella to a woman with a broken screen in her window, who uses CO for her paintings, which she did Sushi (which had the eggs) on it. Brilliant. I love these connections! The sister of the handicap runner, the painter, killed the guy because HE was the one who caused her brother to be handicapped. Reed, the victim, was not a good guy to the guy he handicapped. Again, I love this episode. This case especially. Why? Because of the sister’s acting. She was a superb actor in CSI as the hostess in Recipe for Murder. She killed the guy, and claimed her brother had no part. She said her brother is already in prison.

Woahhhh Lindsay stood him up? Poor Danny! I just felt so bad for him! I mean poor guy was all “are you alright?” Bless him! And then she says we can’t be together. FAVORITE SCENE:

I wanna grab a slice scene was just too cute. TEE HEE I love Danny!! He is just so cute! I loved how the two of them played with that scene. It definitely made for a great scene. And then there was the chemistry scene. Poor Danny looks crushed when he thinks she doesn’t feel it. “Danny… I like you… a lot.” They both look so heartbroken. Poor kiddos. OVERALL:

An excellent episode. Shipper status behind, it made for great tv watching.moreless
  • Great episode..sad DL moments though

I liked this episode. It was sad though when Lindsay told danny that she couldn't be in a relationship, Danny looked so heartbroken, and decided he'd settle for what she was willing to give him at the moment, just a friends who had a job to do. Lindsay looked heartbroken like she didn't want to hurt danny but did so anyways by first telling the guy that she really liked him just couldn't be in a relationship with him and that maybe they should do their jobs. But this episode makes you think twice about going to the premiere of a new alcohol. Storing vodka in containers made of ice, whole new verison of on the rocks!moreless
  • In this episode, Danny, Lindsay and Mac work together on a case. For Danny and Lindsay's case some girl is murdered in a club and the must find out who did it! Flack also helps out with this case and I forget what Stella and Hawkes do.moreless

I like this episode but it also made me sad. We find out that Lindsay and Danny were supposed to have a date, their first real date! However, Lindsay was unable to make it for reasons unknown...which makes me very very sad because they are totally meant to be. Danny is very cute throughout this whole episode because he is constantly trying to get Lindsay to have lunch or dinner with him. At the very end of the episode Danny confronts Lindsay about their feelings for each other and she says that right now she just can't be with him! I am holding out hope for the rest of the season.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Goof: When Stella processes the canister, there's a piece of skin on it but its position changes when she looks through the magnifying glass.

    • Goof: It is said in the episode that the staff was told to wear gloves when they are handling the bottles, however at several points in the opening scene they show several of the waiters not wearing gloves while holding the ice bottles.

    • A first hint of a possible secret and somehow dark past of Lindsay is given. Its revelation can become an interesting plot line and will give the character some background. It's been a year since she joined the team and there's hardly anything known about her family or her private life.

    • It's not clear why Lindsay agreed to go on date with Danny only to stand him up without even a call. If she had second thoughts about it, she could have called and cancelled. It sounds out of character of Lindsay to be that rude.

    • The shirt Danny is wearing in the flashback when he says: it's been a while since I've been stood up is the same shirt he is wearing when he is with Lindsay and is examining the evidence - implying their date was for that night.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Danny: Lindsay Monroe! Can I talk to you for a second?
      Lindsay: Yeah.
Danny: I have to know what's going on with you (Lindsay sighs) Ok I mean, you and I have this thing right? This chemistry, like we're into each other, but every time we were in the same room today it's like... (Lindsay stares at the floor) Don't tell me you don't feel it also.
Lindsay: I can't do this Danny.
      Danny: Can't do what?
Lindsay: I can't be in a relationship with you.
Danny: I'm not I just- I just- I don't... I'm talking about spending some time together, dinner, a few drinks, some laughs.
Lindsay: Look Danny... I like you... a lot, but right now I can't. It's not you okay? It's... I need to be by myself so I can... work some stuff out... that I thought I had... put behind me... I didn't mean for this to happen.
      Danny: It's okay.
Lindsay: Maybe we should just do our jobs.
      (Lindsay starts walking away)
Danny: If there's anything you need from me, just let me know, ok?

    • Stella: ...But as in all things illegal-
Mac: There are people who just have to have one.

    • Danny: Colin Flynn?
      Colin: Yeah, that's me.
Danny: NYPD, we got a couple of questions for you, alright?
Colin: Do I have to answer?
Flack: I'm a cop, not a lawyer... but yeah, you do.

    • Sid: An interesting case... Tonya Nettles was stone cold sober.
Danny: Aren't most people when they're at work Sid?
Sid: I'll ignore the implications of your question Detective.

    • Sid: ...Cause of death was not natural, he was in superb shape, lungs, heart, all the vital organs are near perfect.
Mac: So you're saying... he's actually still alive?

    • Danny: It's been a long time since I've been stood up on a date.
(camera flashbacks to Danny sitting at a restaurant waiting)
Lindsay: Sorry Danny, something came up.
      Danny: Your phone's not working?
      Lindsay: I'm really sorry.
      Danny: Are we alright?
      Lindsay: Yeah, sure.

    • (Sid and Mac are talking how he was killed by carbon monoxide rather than cyanide)
Sid: Just my opinion, but cyanide seems a much simpler way to kill someone.
      Mac: Murder's never simple, Doctor.

    • (Stella and Hawkes walk into Mac's office)
      Hawkes: Autopsy results?
Mac: This is a good one. A runner who somehow has frostbite on his face in 90 degree heat, who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in the middle of Central Park. (Mac smirks)
Stella: (As Hawkes looks dumbfounded) That's just...(she thinks for a brief second) Not possible.

    • Mac: Looks like he was pushed, hit his head on the curb.
Stella: With all the crap on the ground, he could have easily lost his footing.
Mac: Lost more than his footing.

    • (Danny and Lindsay find a print off one of the ice bottles)
Lindsay: The manager said that everybody who handled the ice bottles was told to wear gloves.
      Danny: Everybody but our killer.

    • (Looking up)
Lindsay: She was stabbed with an icicle?
      Danny: That's cold.
Mac: Not cold enough. Our evidence is about to turn into a big pool of water.
      (Icicle melting)

    • Stella: What makes someone want to run 26.2 miles anyway?

    • (Danny and Lindsay are walking)
Lindsay: So what else do we got?
      Danny: Wanna get some lunch?
Lindsay: Danny, Mac wants us to wrap this up.
Danny: Sure, but he doesn't want us to starve to death.
Lindsay: What else did Adam say?
      Danny: What do you mean?
Lindsay: I mean, that's who you were talking to, right?
Danny: Yeah, but what makes ya think he said anything else? (Lindsay stops and puts her hands on her hips, he stops and looks at her) Wh…What I just wanna go get something to eat! (he pauses) Alright…that gum you found, matched it to the dental impressions from the vic, nothing.
Lindsay: DNA and teeth impressions were both negative?
      Danny: Negative.
Lindsay: I'm gonna go back and look at the gum.
Danny: No no no no no, Adam looked at the gum! I Just wanna grab a slice! I'm starvin' here!

    • Hawkes: (As Stella puts her hand into a dish of liquid) You're soaking in it.

This is an allusion to the Palmolive dish washing detergent ads from the '70s with the character Madge the Manacurist who would put her customer's hands in a dish of Palmolive detergent, then tell them: "You're soaking in it".
