  • Quotes

    • Mac: (To Det. Gillian) I'm free now.

    • Mackinley Taylor: I should know if some lunatic is gonna blow me away the second I step out onto the street!
Flack: Trust me Taylor, if I knew anything, I'd let ya know. But, between you and me, if someone takes a shot at you, it's not necessarily connected to this case.

    • (Gillian looks back at Mac while going up the stairs.)
      Mac: She turned back. Nice.

    • Mac: You're working late?
Gillian Whitmore: New to the team-- lots of people to impress and intimidate.

    • Mac: Someone saw your brake lights, you actually slowed down. You thought about stopping, what happened at that moment? Saving someone else's life was a little harder than saving your own?

    • Danny: (to Perry) I don't think Terrence likes people walking on his furniture.

    • Machiavelli Taylor: When I got here this morning there was 15 of us, now there's only 7. Why'd everybody else get to go home?
Mac: 3 of them were children. The rest don't own cars.

    • Flack: Listen to me, somebody in your little entourage knows this guy okay? We made a deal, you're a confidential informant and this little pow-wow that we're having is pay up time.
Terrence Davis: I'm aware of the deal we made, sorry I can't keep coming up with all the small change though, I'm beginning to smell like pork.

    • Terrence Davis: That's a pretty generic description, man.
Danny: Did I not mention scar above his eye, tattoo on his neck? How many guys do you know like that? Six? Seven, eight?

    • Mac: Inspector, we're both very busy, so simply put, if you tracked me down to ask me to remove myself from the Mac Taylor murder investigation, I'm afraid you gotta endure this mediocre cup of coffee for nothing.

    • Machiavelli Taylor: Sorry, I didn't get your name. Surely, we all want to know the name of the officer who understands our frustration.
Mac: It's Detective. Detective Mac Taylor.

    • Marshall Faulk: Starsky and Hutch just showed up.

Starsky and Hutch is a 1970s US television show featuring two policemen David Starsky and Kenneth Hutchinson. It was remade in 2004, starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
