Goof: Sid tells Hawkes that Marla had hairline fractures in both her thumbs due to a car-accident. Hawkes then alludes that those fractures are common with the release of an airbag. The problem is that broken thumbs aren't that common. Often, the hands will release on reflex when the airbag is released or the airbag will push the hands away without causing any damage to any of the digits.
This holds true if the driver is using the correct 10 and 2 position. But a lot of drivers occasionally move their hands around the wheel, and even place their palms and thumbs over the center of the wheel where the airbag is. In such a case, the person would not have enough time to react before their thumbs are broken.
