Detective Mack "Mac" Taylor
Detective Stella Bonasera
Dr. Sid Hammerback (Episodes 93+, Recurring Previously)
Adam Ross (Episodes 93+, Recurring Previously)
Deputy Inspector Gillian Whitford
At the end of the episode, when Rani Fedoruk talks to her dad in the morgue, she speaks in English. As she is from Ukraine, it does not really make sense, except for the audience to understand what she is saying.
Hawkes is probably correct when he says that the chances of someone wearing a tourist NY shirt voluntarily are inversely proportional to how far away from New York that person lives.
The "It's the big apple" tourist NY shirt that the victim is wearing is supposed to stand for the "I heart NY" logo that is trademarked and way more popular.
Goof: Towards the end of the episode, a billboard for The Incredibles can be seen. However, the movie is 5 years old so that billboard wouldn't still be in display after that long.
Danny bugged his mother about buying him that NY tourist several times before she broke down and bought it for him. After getting into two fights in one day, and being disciplined for it Danny decided that the shirt was nothing but trouble.
At the party scene where the girls are sipping on their cocktails, they feel uneasy and faint at the same time. That is a strange coincidence that the drug will affect them at the very same time.
Tara Habis' father gave the FBI a baby tooth of her daughter with some blood on it that finally led to identify her and find her alive.
After the CSIs have broke into the sex trafficking location, it doesn't sound smart to let Katie go to the bathroom unwatched when there were two women in the room (Stella and Det. Gillian) who could have checked on her.
The new CSI labs comes with a drying facility.
The episode takes place during the celebrations of the Chinese New Year, year of the ox, which sets the action around the end of January 2009.
Danny doesn't fly in first class. He flies coach.
Once again and same as in the previous episode, the writers include a new reference to Flack and the Rangers as a wink to Eddie Cahill who is a big fan of them.
Det Gillian worked in narcotics for 7 years. Her 14-year-old niece Rachel went missing three years ago and she hasn't been found yet.
Sid: (Says Happy New Year in Chinese) Xin Nian Kuai Le!
Mac: You two are quite the tag team.
Sid: Oh yeah.
(Lindsay laughs )
Drug dealer: Willy was selling to me. And I said no.
Flack: Is that how you wire cash in your pocket?
Drug dealer: I don't trust banks.
Rani Fedoruk: (To her father in the morgue) Dad I'm ok. You found me. I knew you'd come. You knew I could count on you. So many other girls are safe too because of you. Dad I'm ok, I am here. I love you.
Det. Gillian: (To Rani Fedoruk about her father) He got your letter, and he came to find you. I want you to know that.
Mac: (To sex slaver trafficking guy) Don't move! Or I'll shoot you.
Danny: (While he and Flack are interrogating a suspect) I wouldn't mess with him, he wants to make it to the Ranger's game tonight.
Mac: They get them high, then later depress them, make them passive so they can't fight back, suppress their appetites so they don't have to feed them much. The ecstasy makes them thirsty they want more water which probably laced with yet another drug.
Stella: What kind of heartache is that? All those people wondering where their children are.
Lindsay: Most of the girls held captive in that room were between the ages of 14 and 21.
Stella: Do we still think Rani is alive.
Det. Gillian: Rani is a commodity. She is alive.
Willy Burton: I trade a kiss for a favour.
Stella: And you don't remember her face?
Willy Burton: I'm lucky like that. I kiss a lot of women.
Stella: I bet you do.
Det. Gillian: (About Adrik Fedoruk) He was gonna come for as long as necessary and do whatever it took to find his daughter.
Mac: Looks like it took his life.
Jody Sun: Murder?
Danny: Yeah, unless he made a miraculous recovery at the morgue, he looks pretty dead to me.
Flack: You messed up my favourite suit.
Sammy Chen: So I'll give you the 49 bucks to go buy another one.
Flack: (To Danny over the phone after chasing down a suspect) Just so you know, I stink.
(After chasing a suspect and finding out she hid in a closet, Danny pulls it with its doors to the ground and sits on it)
Jody Sun: Let me out I can't breathe in here. Hello?
Danny: (Calling Flack) I'm on the phone here.
Mac: Be honest here Gillian. What's going on?
Det. Gillian: 3 years ago my niece Rachel, went missing. Beautiful young girl, 14.
Flack: Somebody brought a group of underage girls into your club, drugged them, forced them to have sex with I dunno how many men, I dunno how many times!
Willy Burton: It didn't happen in my establishment. I don't provide women for sexual services! And I definitely don't treat them that way! You're disrespecting me, and you're disrespecting my mother cause she taught me better than that.
Flack: My apologies to your mother.
Stella: She is not telling the truth.
Mac: She is terrified.
Det. Gillian: She should be. You know about an hour ago this place was probably filled with at least 30 young girls just like her from all over: Eastern Europe, Latin America. They took their big dreams and now they're living a very real nightmare: they're sex slaves. Being beaten, drugged… who knows what else.
Mac: Deputy Inspector Whitford?
Det. Gillian: Hey, what a pleasant coincidence.
Mac: I'm not sure it is. Are you waiting for a man named Adrik Fedoruk?
Det. Gillian: Yeah, you sure you have your exceptional detective skills
Mac: He won't be coming.
Det. Gillian: How do you know that?
Mac: He was murdered last night.
Stella: Have him start with all flights that arrived from Eastern Europe within the last 24 hours. If our vic went through customs, he had to go by security cameras. And see if anybody's reported a relative missing. Also check any hotel that didn't get a cancellation.
Danny: Is that it?
Danny: You sure?
Stella: I got it (Smiles).
(At a crime scene of a dead man with a "It's the big apple" tourist NY shirt)
Mac: I don't think this is the welcome to New York he had in mind.
Hawkes: You look like you are on to something but not quite.
Stella: Not a bad deduction, Doc.

Hawkes: It's a good chance our vic is from the Ukraine.
Stella: Eastern Europe. Chernobyl 1986.
Mac: Explains the radiation.
This is a reference to the nuclear radiation escape that occurred in 1986 at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in northern Ukraine, probably the worse in History, that severely affected the city's 15,000 inhabitants and their following generations up to present time.
